I was at this one, one of 2 AFC winning Championships- I attended! Pre game, yes Virginia- the Beer froze to slush in less than a minute! Being Canadian, we were well primed to wear multiple layers, foot warmers, down parkas, boots, etc. However, since I had a chat with death and frostbite of the feet, when I was a kid, I was VERY conscious of losing them.
At Halftime, I found a heated alcove and stayed there the whole time. Spent the whole game stamping my feet to ensure circulation. Afterwards, we stayed at the Microtel, beside the former All American Sports Bar.
That was 25 years ago, when I was about 45. Those days are behind me.
