  1. I wasn’t envisioning it as forcing. I think he wants to be able to do what Brady and Manning did. If he were completely unprepared that’s fine and maybe that’s true, but that seems like the next step in his evolution at QB.
  2. Why? Our run game struggled hard most of the season. I’m not saying Allen should be the passing game coordinator. But the next step is towards Manning and Brady’s ability to process things lightning quick and make checks at the line. Allen being able to handle more play-calling responsibilities is a good thing.
  3. Dude could have paralyzed Tre.
  4. Do we know for sure Dorsey is Daboll’s top target or even a target at all?
  5. If not Dorsey then how about let Allen have more responsibilities with the pass game and get an OC who historically gameplans successful rushing attacks?
  6. Tough to say w/o knowing his contract here. Purely value-wise, I think 25th overall and a 4th is fair, especially when compared what we gave up for Diggs (1st, 5th, 6th, & 4th the next year), but it’s close. I’d feel better w/ just 25th overall. Wonder if any of our players could sent to SEA in such a trade…
  7. Point taken, but I’ll echo that even Goodwin has made a decent NFL career w/ his skill set.
  8. I know little about him, but I’ll echo that Davenport the FA from NO piqued my interest when reviewing Spotrac’s list of DEs set to become FAs next year especially with Payton leaving. He a system fit / process guy? No to Barkley unless it’s for a late pick or cheaper. Even our hallowed sports science department and cutting squats from his workout regimen may not be enough to rebuild him.
  9. Crazy his shirt has wrinkles everywhere but the logo!
  10. Any hope based on Eberflus’ defensive scheme that Mack might not fit and be a trade block candidate?
  11. 1 win 2 the 3 dang 4 super 5 bowl But really: 1 replacing OC / DC / STC 2 premier pass rusher 3 interior OL 4 db depth 5 weapons for Allen
  12. Don’t you have to be a FA to get tagged?
  13. Was gonna say this, but you already said it. So… this.
  14. St. Doug: “Nate, remember what got you here… RRPP.” Nate: ”Yes, Sensei. Run-Run-Pass-Punt. This is the way.” Also, why would Rodgers choose to go to a division w/ Mahomes, Herbert, & maybe Carr as opposed to Fields, Goff, & maybe Cousins?
  15. I have to say a tongue-in-cheek commercial where they say “what can you do with 13 seconds?” and cut to Allen giving a death stare could be funny.
  16. I just hope he seems like himself in his big commercials. (They’re coming.) Rodgers and Mahomes come off like douchecanoes.
  17. Just going off the stat sheet, Jarran Reed & Melvin Ingram each registered a sack. Ed Oliver was our only d-lineman to register a sack. (Taron Johnson had one, too.) Mahomes had slightly better rushing stats (higher ypa & a TD) than Allen, but the expectation was Allen would fare better there. Regardless, I do not agree with a line of thinking that the Chiefs d-line did not stop Allen this game, so we should not seek to sack Mahomes more often. I want to have Allen play at that level and bring Mahomes down. Yes, we got pressure. That’s kind of my point. Pressure alone on either QB is not enough. You need to bring them down or else they will extend the play and make you pay. Obviously game-changing DEs do not grow on trees. Neither do Allen/Mahomes-type QBs. But you move heaven and earth to get both because after QB, DE is as important as any other position. I’m not saying I expect it to happen or happen easily, but OBD still has to make it a top priority - which, hats off to Beane for drafting Epenesa, Rousseau, & Basham and going after the likes of JJ Watt & Von Miller. The cap does not scare me. Look at the Chiefs roster. They make it work. So can we. Beane is a wizard after all. My ultimate point, I think, is I hope the fact that is difficult to get a top-tier pass rusher does not deter OBD from trying to do so. This.
  18. I somewhat agree in that people should come away from that game more encouraged about the Bills than not given they showed they are in the elite tier. But I think the fact our defensive linemen failed to get home and get the sack despite regularly getting close and applying pressure, regardless of how much escapability Mahomes may have, really goes to underscore how much a game breaking elite pass rusher could have helped make a difference in that game.
  19. Anyone else having connection issues or is it just my work internet that sucks?
  20. Favored significantly vs Bengals. Coin toss (too soon?) vs Rams. Either way we would have shown we can go toe-to-toe with and beat the Chiefs, so there would be a good chance we could win our next 2. Allen would likely be seen as the best remaining QB. I’m not sure any rational fan would think winning the AFCCG & SB is a breeze. Especially for a team that lost to the Jags.
  21. “How much candy cap space do we have for McKenzie next year?”
  22. Yeah it’s not like our ST were a source of confidence or stability this year. Had to hold our collective breath most punts - both hoping our punter wasn’t blocked and that our returner wouldn’t muff it.
  23. He joined them at the breakfast table. An anagram for “breakfast table” is “break table fast”.
  24. I said the same thing as OP - why rush anyone? Give Mahomes all the time in the world, play coverage, mug Hill/Kelce, double the other, & keep it in front of you. Regardless, definitely do not rush four.
