  1. Probably echoing others but they barely used Hines on offense to begin with and his return game success was awesome but due for a regression to the mean.
  2. Davis, Cook, and Knox are average to above average. The entire OL probably falls in that category too. Not sure where you’re going with the egg basket metaphor. My expectations for the defense are around where they would be for the offense if it lost Diggs, Morse, and Cook for the year. We clearly did put resources into the OL having signed McGovern, drafted Torrence in Round 2, and our competition for Brown was injured. (Don’t get me wrong; I’ll almost never be upset at resource allocation toward either line.) I’m not quite to Fire Dorsey but to me the talent is there on offense. The defense just got ravaged by injuries including Miller’s lack of return to form.
  3. He should be our Lil Dirty Plus. Would love to get a Cole Beasley Plus (and that’s no knock on Kincaid who is just not in that mold).
  4. Move on from Tre asap regardless. Love him but the best ability is availability. Von at least see how he closes out this season. If he somehow turns it around then try to rework some terms with him. Otherwise move on from him asap. Again the best ability is availability. Knox’s contract is bad but not as bad. It aligns with Kincaid being paid relative peanuts. If you look at total allocation of cap to the position compared to total talent at the position then I think it becomes more palatable. (Draft a WR in first two rounds this April and roll out designated pass catchers of Diggs, Kincaid, Rookie, and Knox, with Shakir/Harty/Sherfield platooning at WR3. Good weapons. Just need to actually use them.)
  5. I think the Bills have some real problems. But can’t wait to see how this thread’s argument develops if we win the next 2 and are sitting at a paper tigery 7-4 record.
  6. Plus, hasn’t the book on beating Burrow largely been about rushing 3 and playing tight coverage?
  7. What if we played on a triangle field with 5 footballs and to tackle you have to pin the ballcarrier down for 7 seconds and then yell Yahtzee! Seriously, I will echo the idea that the Kincaid fumble was the single biggest reason we lost. We score a TD on that drive and who knows what happens.
  8. Sure but we have Diggs to fake it to. He had similar success with short passes last night that could have set up a play faking it to him.
  9. Bills fans expect an offense with Allen, Diggs, and a first round pass catcher to be productive… and they should. For the last 4 games they have not scored more than 10 points in the first 3/4 of the game. That’s bad for any offense, and especially for one with a top 5 QB and without any significant injuries. This defense, already decimated by injuries, is constantly on the field. Time of possession is wildly in opponents’ favor. Coach is doing no favors blitzing guys like Burrow when success has mostly been had against him by rushing three. But they held a top offense last night to an amount of points our offense should be able to match or best. Including basically shutting them down second half.
  10. Diggs & Jackson. Kincaid had his game ball punched out.
  11. Flip side is Bengals running the fake bubble screen to hit the TE 15 yards down the sideline. I think they scored a TD on us last matchup on the same play but just using WRs. Yet we still bite on it.
  12. Allen either way. But Kyle Allen as QB2 leaves a lot to be desired. Wish we had a legit backup knowing how physically our QB plays.
  13. What about Bills fans?
  14. You won’t win many games where you have 2+ turnovers and 10 points through 3 quarters. Once again, this is on the offense.
  15. Only push back I have on this is that was the third or fourth time Kincaid went airborne like that to pick up extra yardage. Agreed though, a savy vet picked up on a rookie leaving himself vulnerable to a fumble.
  16. Don’t ask me, I’m down 125-60 to my 15-years-my-junior lil bro who has 42 from Stroud. But I say Kincaid. He seems to do a better job catching the ball, which is important.
  17. Just got back from lunch there downtown. If you don’t have ADD, those 142 TVs will help you on your way toward it.
  18. Just once I’d like to see a DC whose philosophy is “Don’t bend, don’t break”
  19. Nope not the injury part, just the Bengals defense giving up the most big plays per game in the league part. I think your bolded part above addresses it better than your “interesting take” reply from earlier to the poster whose main point seemed to be that the Bengals D is bad. My brief research shows Bengals’ red zone defense is top 15, which probably helps balance out being the worst at giving up big plays. FWIW, the Bills are toward the bottom of the league in giving up big plays but unlike Bengals most of those are runs. I’d have guessed the Bills have a worse red zone defense but ours is top 10.
  20. Care to refute it? I’m by no means on the Bengals-are-overrated train but our local talk radio pointed out this morning that Bengals’ D has given the highest amount of big plays per game this year and almost all have been pass plays.
  21. Good post. Not only does this apply to our Bengals matchup, but also I think to the fact that football in September-October =|= football in November-January.
  22. Yeah but Dobbs can actually move. Like climb a pocket and run and stuff.
  23. Can’t they just give Douglas the Elam Notebook to get him up to speed?
