  1. Dorsey, see door.

Right before that left deep out INT play (a bad decision/throw by JA17), a fan behind me (I think of DEN) said “let me guess double deep outs” which then happened.

Predictable. Unimaginative. Designs that strike fear into the hearts of no one save maybe some Bills players and fans.

Interested to hear Diggs’ take on this.

Anyone know if Brady prefers booth to field? I think JA17 needs someone in his face and chewing him out like those Daboll clips.

  2. They do make big stops, and that is without 3 pillars on defense, but after they have been on the field all game yes they expectedly struggle toward the end.

Like has been mentioned, the defense also gets regularly screwed by being given short fields and yet still holds up often.

Once again, this is on the offense.

Edit: I will say that someone has to stop slathering our defenders’ arms in butter pregame. Never seen so many missed sacks and tackles, and under a defensive-minded HC.

Sure Allen and Diggs are top 5 but who else on the O is even above average? And yes I have high hopes for Kincaid but he's not there yet.

The injury's on D suck but when you put so many eggs in one basket and then drop the basket what do you expect to happen?

I think the difference between how I look at this and you do is that my expectation of the offense is a lot lower then yours is.  I can't help but notice that again our O line is below average; that we don't have any dangerous weapons beyond Diggs (Kincaid is getting close); the coaching is average at best and the franchise has made a conscious decision to focus more on the D then the O.

Like a lot of Bills fans I was fooled by the sheer productivity and brilliance of Allen.  He fooled us into thinking we had a great offense instead of a unicorn at QB. And we've been warned by analyst after analyst who said that our inability to run the ball was not sustainable; that our over reliance on Allen was not sustainable; and that we had to improve our O line and get more play makers on the field.

We did try to address these short comings in the draft this year and it looks like it will pay off with Kincaid.  But it may be a case of to little to late.

Davis, Cook, and Knox are average to above average. The entire OL probably falls in that category too.

Not sure where you’re going with the egg basket metaphor. My expectations for the defense are around where they would be for the offense if it lost Diggs, Morse, and Cook for the year.

We clearly did put resources into the OL having signed McGovern, drafted Torrence in Round 2, and our competition for Brown was injured. (Don’t get me wrong; I’ll almost never be upset at resource allocation toward either line.)

I’m not quite to Fire Dorsey but to me the talent is there on offense. The defense just got ravaged by injuries including Miller’s lack of return to form.

  4. Move on from Tre asap regardless. Love him but the best ability is availability.

Von at least see how he closes out this season. If he somehow turns it around then try to rework some terms with him. Otherwise move on from him asap. Again the best ability is availability.

Knox’s contract is bad but not as bad. It aligns with Kincaid being paid relative peanuts. If you look at total allocation of cap to the position compared to total talent at the position then I think it becomes more palatable. (Draft a WR in first two rounds this April and roll out designated pass catchers of Diggs, Kincaid, Rookie, and Knox, with Shakir/Harty/Sherfield platooning at WR3. Good weapons. Just need to actually use them.)

Here's a frustrating stat - McDermott blitzed Burrow on 30.4% of pass plays. On those plays he went 10/14 for 158 yards.

We're the only defense I see that regularly blitzes without getting home. It's crazy. Every offensive line picks up our blitz without issue, meanwhile our pass protection scheme constantly fails against the blitz.

Plus, hasn’t the book on beating Burrow largely been about rushing 3 and playing tight coverage?

  6. What if we played on a triangle field with 5 footballs and to tackle you have to pin the ballcarrier down for 7 seconds and then yell Yahtzee!

Seriously, I will echo the idea that the Kincaid fumble was the single biggest reason we lost. We score a TD on that drive and who knows what happens.

It’s a lot different when Chase is the one you’re faking it to.  And Hyde has a lost a step.  He had a rough night even though the D held up for the most part.

Sure but we have Diggs to fake it to. He had similar success with short passes last night that could have set up a play faking it to him.

I could buy this argument if the Bills had emphasized their offense to the same extent that the other lead contenders have.  But the reality is that they have not.

I'm not sure why some Bills fans expect the offense to be incredibly productive game after game when besides Allen & Diggs (and maybe soon Kincaid) the unit is made up of average and below average talent?  Throw in that the offensive coaching is not exactly world beating and IMO you're blaming an offense that is not built to dominate and win games.  That honor goes to the defense which for a number of reasons including bad FA signings, bad draft picks, poor coaching and injuries hasn't come close to living up to what needs to do.

It's water under the bridge but in 2019 the Bills needed to go the route that the Bengal's, Eagles, Dolphins, Cowboys, 49's and Chiefs have gone.  They didn't and now because Allen is so often brilliant and makes us think that the offense is better then it really is, we put the responsibility and blame on that unit for coming up short. I just don't buy it.

Bills fans expect an offense with Allen, Diggs, and a first round pass catcher to be productive… and they should. For the last 4 games they have not scored more than 10 points in the first 3/4 of the game. That’s bad for any offense, and especially for one with a top 5 QB and without any significant injuries.

This defense, already decimated by injuries, is constantly on the field. Time of possession is wildly in opponents’

favor. Coach is doing no favors blitzing guys like Burrow when success has mostly been had against him by rushing three. But they held a top offense last night to an amount of points our offense should be able to match or best. Including basically shutting them down second half.

It was such a JV attempt at being creative.  Murray and Shakir are at most getting 5 yards on that play.  The safeties aren’t coming up because oh no Murray is running it to the outside and then wait shakir has it now.  Cincy defense probably laughing their asses off after that play.  Dorsey is in over his head. He’s the Gabe Davis of OC’s.  1 out of every 4 good games ain’t cutting it in the NFL.

Flip side is Bengals running the fake bubble screen to hit the TE 15 yards down the sideline. I think they scored a TD on us last matchup on the same play but just using WRs. Yet we still bite on it.

It was a very good defensive play. Once airborne , Kincaid was vulnerable to having the ball knocked out. He tried to do too much and got burned.

Only push back I have on this is that was the third or fourth time Kincaid went airborne like that to pick up extra yardage. Agreed though, a savy vet picked up on a rookie leaving himself vulnerable to a fumble.
