Would love Williams, but he said he wants to play for a Super Bowl contender.
Barnidge would be great, but do not think he wants to split with Clay.
Decker has too many health concerns.
I think we're good at LB and CB for the time being.
Would be for either Graham or Byrd, with a slight lean to the former.
Said he wants to go to a Super Bowl contender, so doubt the mutuality would be there, but would 100% support OBD trying. Maybe the familiarity with McDermott and Tolbert?
Re: change of pace, I've always preferred for 2 of the 3 HBs to hold a thunder/lightning dynamic.
Hoping McDermott knows Tolbert well enough from the past few years together.
But he hasn't even been used as a HB the past 3 years; he's been listed as FB on the depth chart. He obviously can run and catch, but was not given any opportunity to do so. If we had Stewart and Williams, Tolbert would likely not see the ball regardless. And I'm not pretending he's at the level of Karlos Williams or Gillislee (who we should have tendered at $1M higher), but do think he can be effective. I expect more from Tolbert than from Jonathan Williams.
For 2016, he was strictly a fullback. Stewart, Whittaker, and Artis-Payne all got a lot of playing time.
For 2015, he was strictly a fullback, and was behind Stewart and DeAngelo Williams (who we should make a push for). EDIT: same for 2014.
Believe I heard something on WGR (from Sal I think) this morning indicating that McDermott gave a sort of look when he gave this answer that indicated he just kind of has to say every position has a battle going on.
Looked after making the post at his college stats, and my guess is pretty on par with his freshman production, which would make sense as this is again his first year playing up at the next level. I'd take it.
Assuming no WR2 brought in and a somewhat healthy Watkins, where will he end up on the stat sheet?
My guess is somewhere around 60 catches for 700 yards and 5 TDs.
This is pretty interesting:

#AgeTweet: Sammy Watkins turns 24 today. He's younger than 2016 rookie WRs: Josh Doctson, Michael Thomas, Sterling Shepard, & Braxton Miller
When you list out Hodges, Brown, Ragland, Alexander, Humber, Milano, and Villejo, as well as consider that nickel will be our package most of the time, there's more than enough depth.
I dunno, no reason why Tolbert and Williams cannot be HB2A and HB2B respectively. Tolbert as change of pace/short yardage/goal line and Williams to spell McCoy. I am excited to see what Tolbert can contribute. Somewhat because I am skeptic based off Williams' first year.
