  1. I get you, and what I am about to say might be refuted by the RPO play-call, but I just feel anyone who saw Marshawn Lynch not get the ball at the goal line in the Super Bowl would have thought, "Hmmm, I think I should give the ball to my top 5 NFL HB." Or heck, even Tolbert, who has shown he can rumble ahead for 1-2 yards pretty consistently. But really, feed Shady there.
  2. I honestly would not be shocked to see this, plus them trying to retain Matthews, whose value will be fairly low after a season out on injury.
  3. I get the idea, but I don't think any OC calls a play based on what Dareus might or might not be able to do.
  4. I'll put it this way, if we had a legitimate QB/OC combination, then I think last year's statistics could have been matched if not surpassed. Plus, Benjamin, Matthews, Thompson, and Holmes were not available for significant portions of the year. Give a franchise QB Benjamin/Matthews/Jones/Thompson/Holmes as WR1-5 and they'll regularly carve defenses up.
  5. Yeah, but he would be the highest paid RT in the league by $3M, so he better be putting in a historically great RT season, and that is if he stays healthy.
  6. McCoy and Clay were the same. WR was less talented, but I think a decent QB/OC combo would still have made due with Benjamin/Matthews/Thompson/Holmes/Jones. Woods was the bigger loss than was Watkins.
  7. Agreed. I'm sure no team wants to play the Patriots*.
  8. I think it can be the case that both Taylor and Dennison underperformed this year. But, I would have liked to see an OC who can adapt to his QB, not try and fit a square peg in a round hole. But then, yeah, this I agree with, too.
  9. Dennison probably should be crucified though. Or, y'know, fired. Yeah, fired.
  10. I would imagine, medical issues aside, that Glenn probably feels he can still play LT and will want to be paid like it.
  11. Okay, but what I said still stands true. Any given Sunday, sure, but facts are that the Jags whooped the Steelers and the Steelers very well could have beaten the Patriots*. I somehow doubt the Steelers are afraid of playing football.
  12. Tough to justify paying a RT over $14M, no? Also, why not try and move that cap hit?
  13. I thought that too, but also saw an article saying the Eagles did block him from interviewing for OC positions last year I believe.
  14. The Jags who beat the Steelers handily this season? Re: your second sentence, sounds like you're still talking about the Steelers, the Steelers who went toe-to-toe with the Patriots* and deserved to beat them this season?
  15. Yes. Agreed. Mhm. Right. Correct.
  16. Go Titans. Go Jaguars. Go Saints, as I see them as the best chance to deny the Pats.
  17. This would be too good to be true.
  18. Cousins is 30 in August and likely will not cost draft picks, just money. The wrong message to the team being? We want a franchise QB at any cost? There is competition at every position? I like Taylor, and agree no one player is usually THE reason for a loss, but he was a prominent reason for the loss.
  19. I hope the Pegulas go to McDermott and Beane and write a blank check for an OC.
  20. Why not? Cousins is no surefire franchise QB. I would like to hedge our bets at the most important position. Plus, a drafted QB is not going to cost that much cheddar at all, from a pure salary cap standpoint, and is there not a chance that we would just sign Cousins and not have to trade? Worst case scenario, we really tried for a QB. Best case scenario, we're able to trade one for higher picks back. I like Taylor, but I think most on this board would disagree with that in bold. And that's not to say the OC is faultless, because I do not think he is and do think he should be replaced regardless.
  21. Don't mind the Dorsey idea. Would also not mind Greg Olson (Goff's QB coach, although likely to be Gruden's OC) or John DiFilippo (Wentz's QB coach, also rumored for HC and OC gigs).
  22. Agreed with the crowd backing "draft a QB regardless" and I think that goes for Cousins, Smith, Taylor, or Keenum.
  23. Clay call was definitely correct. Koyack TD and Ramsey INT could have gone either way, as both looked like there may have been some movement of the ball, but given that they were called how they were on the field, I'm not shocked they weren't overturned.
  24. Does anyone else think that, IF OBD IDs a guy (not Rosen/Darnold, assuming they go 1/2) as franchise material, then they should try to trade 21, 22, Glenn, and maybe one more later pick to get to 3 overall? I don't care who it is, although my bet would be Rudolph or Mayfield, but if they truly think a guy could be the guy, then why not pull the trigger? The Colts aren't drafting a QB and need OL help. Plus, OBD likely still has two 2nds and a 3rd to work with, depending on what else might need to be thrown in.
  25. The Colts, who need OL help and more picks to fill their many needs, and also already have a QB. And I also want to invest into OL, after we go get a QB.
