Baker Mayfield won’t attend NFL draft
JohnBonhamRocks replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just goes to show what kind of character Mayfield has. I mean, can we even be sure he's going to attend games? -
Mel Kiper's new Big Board and Position Rankings

Definitely have a master baiter in this thread. -
Not sure what thread would be better for this, but anyone familiar with Needham, CB, UTEP? Seems like a good fit based on this scouting report from Walterfootball: Nik Needham, CB, UTEP Height: 6-0. Weight: 190. Projected 40 Time: 4.59. Projected Round (2018): 4-6. 1/22/18: As a senior, Needham recorded 59 tackles with eight passes broken up and an interception. He totaled 54 tackles with 11 breakups as a junior after 38 tackles and five breakups as a sophomore. Sources tell me that Needham impressed them with his cover skills for UTEP. They say that while he is not a burner, he is an outstanding technician who beats up receivers at the line of scrimmage. Needham doesn't have a lot of interceptions because teams threw away from him, but from watching him in practice, they say that he has good hands and ball skills. While his team struggled, Needham locked down some good receivers over the past few years while being a 3-year starter. They feel Needham would be a good zone corner in the NFL.

Might retain Johnson.

What RB I would target in the draft
JohnBonhamRocks replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dunno, Drake was pretty decent this year. He had 4.8 ypc and totaled 883 scrimmage yards. But I agree in that I think you are saying taking a chance on an Alabama running back is less risky because their usually stacked at the position. -

Interested in prospects in the mid-to-late portions of the draft, especially if we retain Cadet. My main guys are Adams (ND), Smith (Southern Miss), and Scarborough (Alabama). -

Really hoping Kirk makes it to our 2nd round picks. Dynamic. -
It's February 15. What's going on at OBD?

2nd Annual Intra-Staff Wrestling Tournament is what I heard. Currently, they are breaking in the newbies. Luis Guilamo (Director of Analytics and Application Development) and Jeff Mueller (Video Director) have been a pretty even match-up thus far. Stay tuned for updates. No source, sorry. -
I'm gonna hang it up after this post, but: (1) if the Cardinals pursue a QB, it could very well be Taylor (as you said in a prior post, "ANY QB for the Cards to pursue"), and (2) "Discussing the Buffalo Bills and the NFL", right, so I think discussing both Taylor and the Cardinals in a thread should not be chastised. It's not "Discussing the Buffalo Bills or the NFL".

Report: DE Eddie Yarbrough Will Be Back in 2018
JohnBonhamRocks replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good. He was a pleasant surprise last year. Now add more pass rushers. -
Agreed on marginal starter. I think he is being paid about what he is worth though, given how inflated the QB market is becoming (Garoppolo and Cousins). Maybe it'll be more like a 6th or 7th, but I think a team will give up something for Taylor. We should be able to move him for some value, whether it be a late round pick or maybe a player who is on the outs for that team. That is why he's being mentioned. He's a Bills QB on the trading block being discussed in a thread about a team that needs QBs...

Okay, yeah, I'm not arguing with that. I see the poster I quoted said "recently" and in my mind I was just going off what the new regime did with last year. I do think that's going too far back for "recently" and that Lawson should get a "jury still out" tag until mid-season or so this year. I'd also put Brown as better than "decent" and Glenn as better than "good". Here's to hoping the new offensive scheme will help produce an uptick/return to form for Miller, too.

#21 + #22 = 89.59, which leaves 32.39 left. Throw in #96 (6.87) and we're at 25.52 left, which is about pick #40-41. What it depends on is Glenn's value. We have to do this analysis under the assumption that he is healthy and cleared to play, otherwise why trade for him? Here is a comparable scenario: SEA traded a 2018 3rd round pick and 2019 2nd round pick (essentially two 3rds this year, which is essentially one 2nd this year) for HOU's LT Duane Brown and a 5th round pick. That makes me think Glenn would be worth about a late 2nd round pick, which is not too far off the 25.52 value we were left with above. Using Hill's chart, the 130% multiplier, and the Brown trade, I think we could swing the following: #21, #22, #96, #149 (or a 2019 4th), and Glenn for #2, which would be huge in keeping future high picks and our two 2nd rounders this year.

Those helmets are awful. Good on them. -
As an Irish fan, it's just salt in the wound that this was posted by a Bama fan...
