Which prospects do you think fall under that umbrella?

Smith is one but there are a bunch of others with similar build and success. DeSean Jackson, Marquise Brown, John Brown, Antonio Brown, Emmanuel Sanders, Tyreek Hill, Zay Flowers, and TY Hilton, just to name a few. Less than ideal sure but I think Worthy belongs in that bunch of exceptions. I kind of hate that he broke the 40 record because I liked him this much pre-Combine.

Worthy/McConkey early at WR Tahj Washington/McCaffery late at WR Estime/Allen at HB Sweat at DT (hoping at 60 somehow) Kinchens/Bishop/Taylor/Vaki at S (I need to investigate DE more)

Not sure what you mean by law of averages. I’ve read his weight was down intentionally so he could break the 40 record. Fair re: Diggs. I think McConkey goes in the 1st.

No Thomas Jr.? I feel like Allen was at his best with Diggs, Brown, and/or Sanders as “boundary” WRs. Do you see them similarly to the 4 prospects you listed? Or closer to Gabe? Fair enough. Obviously Tyreek is one of one, but what about Worthy makes you think he might struggle at the next level? On the McConkey/Diggs comparison, how do you factor in that the latter was a 5th round pick?

When you say the production simply has not been there against man coverage, is that re: the Bills WRs recently or re: Samuel? If the latter, then how do you reconcile that statement with Harmon’s stats showing he consistently beats man? FWIW, the single most important trait for a WR prospect, to me, is the ability to separate and do it quickly, be it against man or zone.

Would be happy with either and about 50/50 but I’m almost leaning McConkey for his route running

Worthy is my favorite in the second tier, but I would be happy with McConkey, Thomas Jr., or Mitchell at 28, too. Agreed if it is Worthy or McConkey, then I hope they double dip and try for Gabe 2.0 in round 4 or 5.

I want a top WR prospect but the whole thing about this class is how deep WR is so trading up is likely poor value, even with how good the top 3 are projected to be. Much likelier imho that we trade up once again ahead of the Cowboys if a WR we really like is there at 23. (We’ll see who has that pick by Draft weekend, but seeming unlikely it will remain the Vikings.) Maybe we jump the Jaguars up to 16 with Seattle but even that price is likely too steep for a GM who seems hell bent on fielding a younger cost-controlled team.

Franklin over Mitchell or McConkey?

I don’t live in Texas, but I have eyes, and he definitely has a diverse route tree, is a skilled route runner, and plays tougher and bigger than his size. Guys like him do succeed in the NFL and are named, for example, Davonte Smith, DeSean Jackson, Zay Flowers, John Brown, Tyreek Hill, Will Fuller, Antonio Brown, Cole Beasley, TY Hilton, Emmanuel Sanders, Darnell Mooney, etc. If we take Worthy and try to turn into a contested catch slot guy, then that would be on the OBD suits.

This plus there is speculation he was only down to 165 to try to get the 40 record.

I’d take 9.5 sacks like he got last year but hey maybe that’s just me
