OT: Speaking of baseball...
Greg de'Ville replied to Ned Flanders's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives

...tough breaks for those players, but in the overall scheme it probably won't make a difference. Just blitz the hell out of the Statue of Bledslow and the Patsies will undoubtedly prevail. Still a lot of talent out there. The only way the Bills can possibly stay with NE is to force TOs and shorten the field--but that's a reach. Can't see that happening Sunday, unfortunately. Given the Patsies' ability to protect Brady compared to the Bills' OLs, well...

...there came a point late in the game with the Marlins well in front (won 9-1) that fans started throwing baseballs, bottles, cans and other debris on the field. Umps called the teams off the field and had to threaten forfeit for them to stop. Was sad also how that franchise went belly up and how MLB treated that team the past few years, making them play 20-some odd games a year in Puerto Rico. There were some good Expo teams (especially early 80s) and some fine ballplayers (like Pedro Martinez and Vlad Guerrero); unfortunately, they could never fiscally keep those core players together. A lot of talented players came and went, so there was never any sense of continuity. Olympic Stadium, from what I heard, was a dump. Old Parc Jarry, it predecessor, had some character if not seating capacity--the Expos didn't win much early on but Le Grand Orange provided excitement. Dunno if D.C. will embrace baseball after 33 years. Plans call for a $13 million renovation for RFK until a new stadium is built nearby along the Anacostia in 2007 or 2008. I thought Northern Virginia would land the Expos but it didn't pan out.

...look on the bright side, folks. The Bills are out of the division basement by a half-game, and they haven't even won yet!
-
...a better product on the field; namely, Bills who can actually play this frickin' game and show some heart (unlike most of the current tin men vis-a-vis clinking, clanking, collection of caligenous junk)!

What one rule change would you like in the NFL?
Greg de'Ville replied to DPR4444's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...why naturally, the "Screw Buffalo" rule. There are only so many ways one can take it up the you-know-where. -
Combined record of Bills opponents so far
Greg de'Ville replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...yeah, and Our Zeroes have sent the Jags and Faiders on to glory days. But for the want of making some plays every now and then... -
Screaming " It's The Offensive Lines' Fault "
Greg de'Ville replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...I'm no big fan of PP-FSSJJ, but he made a cogent comment during halftime of the Indy-GB game Sunday. "Defenses blitz poor quarterbacks, and defend (read: fall back into coverage) against good quarterbacks." -
Yeah, and we might be right behind them at 2-14 (both wins over Dieami).

...that was a fun game to watch today and not only for FF devotees. Those guys SPREAD the field and get everybody involved. They also get exceptional pass protection, something that's sorely missing from the Bills' repetoire. The Bills scored 20 points in eight quarters so far this season. Sheesh, it only took Peyton Who a quarter today to roll 21. We can only hope that some day in this new millenium the Bills will find a clue and score some points (more than 10 a frickin' game). Hope the Bills and their brainrust were watching this game--about how to move the chains in chunks, and score points in bunches. Exhibit B would be McNabb's performance vs. Daytwah today. He's in a zone right now and the Iggles are rolling.

13 Straight Division Championships....
Greg de'Ville replied to gantrules's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...Bobby Cox's best managerial job was this season. Bar none. The Braves will be dangerous for the Cards or anyone they face in the playoffs. -
Exactamundo. Plays aren't being made when they need to be made, on both sides. It's not the officiating, folks, it's the 53 tin men wearing Bills unis who have to find some heart and overcome adversity.

I downloaded this on my home computer some two weeks ago, but the bugs were noticeable; namely, I couldn't use my office email to reply/forward documents, and it was causing some problems with CD/DVD performance. It also didn't recognize my anti-virus software. My ISP provides a monthly newsletter with some useful information about Windows, and I came across this data tonight. My university's computer folks won't even go near SP2 until the bugs are worked out--they've requested everyone to shy away from it. But if you've downloaded it and you've had problems, there's a way to go back to the original XP Pro settings on your computer. I did a system restore tonight and my programs are working as they were prior to SP2. Or, if you want to download it, create a restore point beforehand. ----------------------------- Short Tutorial - Create "Restore Point" On Computer Before Downloading SP2 If you use Windows XP and plan to install Microsoft Corp.'s free Windows XP Service Pack (SP2), it would be wise to create a "restore point" on your computer BEFORE you download SP2. Similar to backing up your system, creating a restore point lets you roll back your computer to where it was prior to the download of SP2. (Just in case something goes wrong during the SP download or software applications don't work properly afterwards, it's better to be safe than sorry.) It's easy. Here's how to do it: Click your cursor arrow on the "Start" menu. Go to "All Programs" on the pop-up list. Go to "Accessories" on the sub-menu. Go to the "System Tools" sub-menu. Select "System Restore" from the sub-menu by clicking on it. The "Welcome to System Restore" window will open. Click your cursor arrow on "Create a Restore Point." Then click on the "Next >" button. When the "Create a Restore Point" dialog box opens, give your restore point a name by typing it in the "Restore point description" field. Click on the "Create" button. The "Restore Point Created" window will open giving you the name of the restore point along with the date and time it was created. Click on the "Close" button. If you actually needed to restore your system to its pre-SP2 download state, follow these steps: Click your cursor arrow on the "Start" menu. Go to "All Programs" on the pop-up list. Go to "Accessories" on the sub-menu. Go to the "System Tools" sub-menu. Select "System Restore" from the sub-menu by clicking on it. The "Welcome to System Restore" window will open. Click your cursor arrow on "Restore my computer to an earlier time." Then click on the "Next >" button. When the "Select a Restore Point" window opens, select the pre-SP2 download date within the calendar frame you chose as your restore point. Then, on the list, click on the name you called your restore point. Click "Next >." Read the warnings on the "Confirm Restore Point Selection" window, and if you are satisfied that you selected the correct restore point, click the "Next >" button. The system will log you off, shutdown, and then do "system restore." When it is completed, Windows will restart.

Coach Says Problems Are Correctable:

Penalities have killed us both games!
Greg de'Ville replied to Frez's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...uh, you need to be tapped on the shoulder. STUPID PENALTIES have killed the Bills since 1960! It's been the same broken record, year in and year out. -
Did anybody see the positives
Greg de'Ville replied to justnzane's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The one positive? Bills can't lose next week. Or can they? Idle's a three-point favorite. -
...are you on drugs? That shellacking at Foxhole in the '03 finale was the last straw. Good riddance to bad rubbish (although it's rumored that a copy of Killdrive's playbook has been found on Tom Clements' desk).

...Winfield. Bum. Folks, the Iggles may have something special going this season. Their defenders swarm to the ball and make plays. Give TO an opening and voila, six points. McNabb's gonna have a lot of fun this fall with the weapons he has. Culpepper did a Bills-like boner in the first half with that fumble at the 1 (never squared himself to take it in, ball not even close to the goal line plane), and his OLs have been Bills-like in the STUPID PENALTIES category with several drive killer holds. The one thing I liked about both QBs in the game tonight is how they utilized their TEs. And, how they can move the pocket and avoid the rush, something the Statue of Bledsoe cannot do. What a world of difference between teams like the Iggles and Patsies, and the current collection of losers we root for.

53 tin men. NO HEART!
-
...bleak. What more can be said?

...on Jags' final drive and we can't make the play. 45 YARDS? They have a 4th-and-2 inside the 20, AND WE CAN'T STOP THEM? THE LAST PLAY OF THE FRIGGIN' FOOTBALL GAME AND THEY BREAK OUR HEARTS AGAIN! Somebody please put me out of my misery. Can you say 0-3? It's coming folks. This is a DEVASTATING LOSS for the Bills. What a heartbreaking way to open the MM era. 10 FRICKIN' POINTS BY THE OFFENSE WILL NOT WIN MANY BALLGAMES. BUT GOOD GRIEF, ALL THE "D" HAD TO DO WAS MAKE A STOP. Didn't happen. Jax goes 80 yards in 2:07. UN-BLEEPIN-BELIEVABLE...THEY'RE KILLING ME, folks, THEY'RE KILLING ME!

Yep. Let's see what MM/TC have in store. Please RUN THE BLOODY FOOTBALL and OLs, please DO YOUR JOBS! And, DB, please DO SOMETHING POSITIVE IN THE DEAD ZONE! We'll find out soon enough, won't we? GO BILLS! JUMP ON THE JAGS! -
(OT) 98-7 Western Illinois win
Greg de'Ville replied to VABills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not only that jes, they got killed 71-0 at Northeastern last week. Why Cheyney scheduled these games is mystifying. They have enough troubles being competitive in the PSAC.
