  1. Yeah, BF, but the fat lady's warming up in St. Looie. One win in Houston was all the Redbirds needed to effectively seal the deal. Now, it's backs-to-the wall time.
  2. Check your history book. The World Series has been 2-3-2 in its best-of-7 format going back to the 1920s. The 1919 "Black Sox" Series with Cincinnati I believe was the last that was a best-of-9. Reds won the "thrown" series, 5 games to 3.
  3. Terrific stuff by the 'stros. Their backs were to the proverbial wall the last six weeks of the regular season just to get into the playoffs. If they can finish off the Redbirds, they have a legit chance to become the third straight WC team to win it all.
  4. No...baseball's been 2-3-2 since the beginning of time.
  5. ...wow. Who's going for both clubs in Game 6?
  6. ...can you imagine if this series goes to a Game 7? Second year running? Sox down 0-3 to tie it? You kiddin' me? It's like Christmas morning every night...you can't wait to run downstairs to see what's under the tree. It's not so much the physical wear-and-tear anymore. It's who has the mental toughness to get this thing done.
  7. Good. Bills get a second chance to shut him down.
  8. ...they just refuse to let their season end. Ortiz has been HUGE for Boston. It's great theatre, if you like marathons this is your kind of series. 12 innings last night, 14 more tonight. We'll see how Schilling does tomorrow on that ankle. The Sox may fall--eventually--but they're giving the Bombers their all. See ya tomorrow!
  9. The Steelers will have a bye this Sunday, then we'll know if they're true "players" in the SB derby. Back-to-back homers vs. Patsies & Iggles at the Mustard. If the Dog-Ass Jets can't beat NE this week, the Stinky Little Steelers (with their Big QB) might be the ones to break the Patsies' record win streak. The Battle of Pennsyltucky Nov. 7 will be a HUGE game for both the Steelers & Iggles. Iggles haven't been tested yet.
  10. ...only delayed the inevitable. Yanks should close it out tonight. As for the NLCS, well BF, start worrying. "stros are coming on. Now a 2-of-3 that I think will go the full 7.
  11. ...three key Raven defenders as noted: Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Chris McCalllister. They must be neutralized. As much as Lewis gets the hype, Reed may be the best defender out there. But he loves to gamble and can give up the big play if his gamble fails.
  12. ...as mentioned Sunday, I believe the Nevermores are beatable this week. Boller is a young man's Bledsoe. Gotta keep Todd Heaps in check, he's a very good TE. And keep the other Lewis felon (the guy on D who wears #52) from tattooing Bledsoe.
  13. 21-of-25 for a buck-93. Steelers rally and get a big win in Big D, 24-20, and go to 5-1. Patsies and Dog-Ass Jets are still unbeaten going into their showdown, but they best not be looking over their shoulders. The Stinky Littles are coming on and Big Ben showed again why he's a keeper.
  14. Enjoy. He can play. Big Ben & Duce have given the Steelers their swagger back (unfortunately, that's also the case with JutJaw himself, Scower Cowher).
  15. ...won by the length of a Takeo pick. This offence is still offensive, though. 13 points won't win a lot of football games. But, after all the suffering I've been through and you've been through and we all have been through the last month or so, finally Our Zeroes became Heroes. Not to be too greedy, MM, but..."How 'bout a win streak?" Nevermores are another offensively-challenged football team. Jamal is on the shelf (suspension) and Boller is erratic. Keep Tood Heaps from having a Coates-like day and the Ravens are gettable.
  16. ...shows to go ya, can't be #1 every year. Simply rebuild, try not to let Big Blue steamroll the Bucks in the closer, and get ready for next fall.
  17. ..."You gan get it done, men. You can get it done. What's more, you GOTTA get it done!"
  18. A-Rod serious yard (way outta here). fo-fo.
  19. ...6-1 overall, 6-0 Class B South champs and a home playoff game coming up. I sure wish Mike Kane would have been coaching when I was a student at OHS way back when. This guy gets it done and his kids play hard. Way to go, Huskies!
  20. ...Shaw had to be that "player to be named later" in the Bledsoe deal a few years back. Promo, is Dead Sox Nation in panic mode?
  21. ...Fiedler's going to give it a go, despite cracked rib. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/foot...s.ap/index.html
  22. ...the Mighty Huskies (5-1) at unbeaten Springville (6-0). Big-time playoff implications. Unlike their pro and collegiate counterparts back home (the Bills & UB), there are some scholastic teams who know how to win. Go Dogs! Beat Springville!
  23. ...they're good, BF. They're really good. If Pujols doesn't beatcha, then Rolen can. Or Edmonds. Or Walker. Or Renteria. Nary an easy out in that lineup. Can't see it going longer than five unless the 'stros turn things around in a major hurry. Sox, meanwhile, are in a world of hurt. Yanks can go for the jugular tonight. And the Curse will continue for the Bills of baseball, sad to say.
  24. ...cool football nickname: HE HATE ME (Rod Smart).
  25. ...yeah, and by the time December rolls around, they'll be practicing in YELLOW SNOW!
