  1. So he can pursue a college job right away. The Bungles debacle Sunday was the final straw. Davis had to go. But he won't be the last because there are a bunch of guys who should get the gate by the end of the season, if not before: Erickson, Haslett, the loser of the NFC Worst derby (Martz or Holmgren).
  2. ...that's easy. Jax. To paraphrase Suzy Kolber, the Bills "pissed" away that game!
  3. ...ol' #4 helps drive another dagger into the heart of Mike Martz. I'd love to hear his postgame B word and moan address tonight at the Frozen Tundra.
  4. No, that was in the 1st half, right in family primetime!
  5. Say what? During ESPN's telecast of Sunday night's Oakland Raiders-Denver Broncos game, sideline reporter Suzy Kolber said that despite their difficult season, the Raiders still were "full of piss and vinegar." That's a hell of a brew!
  6. And Favre and the Pack will be on yet again this Sunday (national 4:15 game vs. Philly).
  7. If Sully needs to B word about something, he should B word about the Bonnies. They could eat the Big Donut this year, if not overall then certainly in the A-10. They are that bad. This is the bottom-out year for that program post-scandal.
  8. ...those yahoos who did the SU-BC game Saturday were putrid. You'd think ABC could find better guys than that.
  9. ...it's back to b/w this week for the Scum Sentinel once the Bills and WM run through the DolFelons. They labored to beat a Frisco team which now can be labeled the worst in the league. I'd have to think McGahee is going to be jacked for this game. Get after A.J. Mr. McFeeley right off the bat. This is a winnable game for the Bills. If they play as efficiently as they did at Seattle, there's no reason why they can't dispatch the DolFelons.
  10. The DolFelons didn't exactly light it up today, the Niners fumbled the ball five times in the fourth quarter alone and literally gave the game to Dieami. Knock Dieami on its ass and go for the brooms, Bills!
  11. ...naw, forget playoffs for this year. The 0-4 start did the Bills in. But at least they're headed in the right direction and if they can get to 8-8 (9-7 if breaks go their way down the stretch), that would be a mo-builder for 2005.
  12. ...frankly, the credit for this turnaround (5 wins in the last 7 after an 0-4 start) ought to go to MM and his staff. They kept it together and prevented a total implosion a la Dieami or Frisco. Nice to know that the Bills have a shot at .500 next week. After that dreadful opening month, I hardly believed that was possible.
  13. ...he's not had the beaucoups breakout game yardage-wise, but he's on the verge. He just runs HARD. And it was nice to see him and the OLs pound it in three times from short yardage. As long as the Bills' defense shuts down the enemy RBs and keeps them in check, they seem to do OK. Held Curtis Martin under a buck three weeks ago in a win over the Dog-Ass Jets. Stumbled against the Pats and Dillon rang up a buck-55. Then went back to shutdown mode and limited Faulk to what, six net yards? And today limited the dangerous Shaun Alexander to under 40 yards. That's pretty good. Been a LONG time since the Bills won a roadie. Now, a chance to get back to .500 next week in Dieami. From the accounts I read today, the DolFelons were as bad as the Niners yet managed to win. What about that Cinci-Cleveland game today? It was a track meet out there. Rudi Johnson is a decent RB and that will be a test for the Bills in three weeks. Interestingly, all four AFC East teams played "late" games today and all four won. You would think that someone with as much $$$ as Bob Kraft would plunk down some coin and put some TURF in at Foxhole. What a mudbath that was today. Ridiculous. Same goes for Pittsburgh. With as much use as Heinz Field gets (Steelers, Pitt & HS), I would think turf would be a given. Their field never holds up by this time of year. Iggles impressive again today as they shut down the Jints to go 10-1 and clinched the NFC East. But it's time somebody give Mora Jr., Vick and the Falcons their due. They had to battle hard today against Nawlins but found a way to get it done late. Could Atlanta be this year's Carolina and upset the Iggle apple cart? We'll find out soon enough.
  14. ...to the volume you do. 2,000 is a drop in the bucket compared to some of you guys (and ladies). I try to throw my 2c in every now and then, but I've been so freakin' busy at work and with keeping after my two young'uns that I haven't had time to post near as much as before. So it may take a LONG while before I'd get to 3k. But I do enjoy surfing the threads when I get a chance. At least the Bills are playing better at home of late. But on the road, well... Horrible and Horribler. It's just a shame those September/early October games were pissed away. Just too much separation between where the Bills are now and those clubs clumped at 7-3. And with 4 of the last 6 on the dreaded you-know-where, the Bills will be hard-pressed to achieve my preseason predict of 8-8. If BDDB fouls up in Seattle this Sunday, will JP see appreciable action starting with the Dieami game the following week? Eli M & Drew H are now in there for NYG & Dal, think MM needs to get Losman some much-needed experience to get the jump on next season.
  15. Last game (Jan. 2 at St. Looie). Mebbe Martz's last game as well.
  16. ...Mikey's p'oed because he knows the AFC East is his daddy. The sounds of a desperate coach on life support. Perhaps the Dog-Ass Jets can finish him and his team off and make it a clean sweep.
  17. Mike Martz. That's a given. Lambs no longer the "Greatest Show on Turf" or grass or anything else. Butch Davis. Has done zilch in Cleveland. He's greased his skids with another underchieving season. Dennis Erickson. 1-9 in 'Frisco. Couldn't happen to a nicer dirtbag. If the Bills can't get a roadie win against that bunch, God help them--and us. Jim Haslett. 4-6 in 'Nawlins. Another underachieving bunch languishing in bayou quicksand. The 'Aints just haven't put much together in recent years and a lopsided loss at home to Denver today won't help. Fat-Ass TUNA. Wow. Have the Cowpukes ever regressed. The Bills played them a year too late. ------------ No one's anointing Coughlin as a savior anymore because the Jints are flying south fast. The Iggles can clinch the NFC East in a virtual walkover with a win over the Jints next week. But, like other head coaches in their first season with their respective teams, he gets a pass this season.
  18. "Uhhhmpt, PLAYOFFS? Don't talk about playoffs, you kidding me? PLAYOFFS?"
  19. ...yep, it is a new Bills standard. Nice that BDDB gave Campbell a chance to catch the ball again after a three-week hiatus.
  20. ...nice to see a former Harrisburg Senator win it. He was a great player in the EL and it was the tip of the iceberg for a great ML career that has followed.
  21. ...it was a great play. When the hi-lite shows roll around this week, I hope they'll use Merrill Reese's call of that play. Both during and after the play, he made the reference to Rockin' Randall's 95-yard TD bomb to Fred Barnett at Ralphie's in '90, the one where RR escaped BRUUUUCE and two other Bills, ran across his end zone, flailed a bomb to midfield and Barnett outleaped JD Williams and scampered the rest of the way. Although the McNabb-to-Mitchell play didn't go to the house, it was still an amazing play. One that showcased McNabb's escapability, his smarts, and his arm. The first TD to TO last night was also a gem. That was a low laser McNabb threw and TO caught a tough pass in stride and went the distance. That was a nice bounce-back for the Iggles after the drubbing they took in Pgh the week before.
  22. ...congrats, SDS, and best wishes to you and yours! Just as long as Paige's middle name is not Maker!
  23. ...and Brady has time for a manicure. That is how much time he has to throw the ball. It's all a matter of the LOS, people. And the Patsies are dominating the trenches. This could be a real gruesome result when this one's over. The Bills showed absolutely nothing offensively after that initial drive. Inept playcalling, shoddy blocking, STUPID PICKS by BDDB...you get the picture.
  24. "Aw, Just Give It to 'Em"...AGAIN! Right up the you-know-where. That's what always happens to the Bills in Foxhole.
  25. ...very remote. Would take 7-1 in the second half to have a chance. 9-7 is possible but very tough given the schedule. 8-8 was my pre-season pick and I'm sticking with it.
