Booth Lusteg reincarnated. That's Lindell. You just KNEW somewhere along the line he would screw up in a bigtime situation. -

It sure as shootin' was. Knew when the flag was thrown it was coming back. That POS Josh Reed needs to be shipped to the Arena League. He's not NFL material. -
one thing that's hard to stomach

Don't worry, Chowderhead. The Patsies will get theirs--again--by the Steelers. In Pittsburgh--again. -
...in too many ways imaginable. Three turnovers, 11 penalties, 2-for-11 on 3rd downs, an inexcusable missed FG. Add it up and the Bills indeed were there own worst enemies, especially on offense and STs. A three-play sequence that will stick in the craw of Bills fans for the months to come: 1st down pass to the Pgh 3 in the third quarter (long drive started at Bills' 1), only to have that useless piece of crap Josh Reed flagged (rightly so) for an illegal pick. Then Lindell's costly miss (wide right, it figures). Had to get points out of that drive, to get none was a killer. Then the Steelers' 3rd-string running back, Parker, rips off a 58-yarder after the missed FG and sets up a 4th Steeler FG to give the Steelers back the lead--one they would not relinquish thereafter. The forced fumble and the Harrison return for the TD was the icer. But it never should have come to that. Defense played hard but was on the field a long time, and there were some tackles that had to be made but weren't. Randle El KILLED the Bills in the first half--no one had a handle on him except for the one fumble on his part that led to McGahee's opening TD. For the most part, Bledsoe came up small today. Too many 3-and-outs. I don't know what the hell call that was on that errant pitch-back to Shaud Williams. Galls ya that it was right there for the taking, St. Louis did its part, but the Bills failed to get it done today and that's it, Fort Pitt. The Dog-Ass Jets backed their way in. The first guys who should be shipped out on a rail are Josh Reed and Rian Lindell (nice onside kick too, bub). Those two boneheaded third quarter plays--major blunders--led to the wheels falling off and the end of the trail for Our Heroes. Bills still have the promise of being a good football team in the future, and they made a hell of a 2nd half season run to put themselves in a playoff position, but compared to the Steelers and Patsies, they have a ways to go. Even had they somehow pulled today's game out, their playoff stint likely would have been short-lived. Man, those Steeler OLs really know how to control the LOS. That was some impressive 4th quarter drive to kill time and the Bills hopes. Yeah, it smarts, but the Bills did not bring their "A" game today and frankly got the result they deserved. I called today's game a final exam--and the Bills were a D-grade team--below average. For the players who will be back, the hurt will turn to hunger. I hope they can learn from their miscues in this game and come back ready to go from the OPENING GAME in '05. Losing sucks, but hey, the sun will come up tomorrow, and it's "back to the mines" for me at my job. And I've got a family to take care of. So, today's loss, while it stings, is not the end of the world. Life goes on and so will the Bills next fall.

With Louisville coming in next season and UConn on the upswing--and Temple given the boot--the Big East will be in decent shape. Now, if somehow SU can get its act together now that P has finally been shown the door.

...what a dandy! As good a Rose Bowl as you'll ever see. Young was outstanding for UT. Edwards & Breaston the same for Blue. It came down to who had the ball last. Unfortunately for Blue, the Horns had the ball and the mo and that was a great pressure by Mangum at the gun to win it.

...get used to it, Nick. You're going to go through some growing pains with the DolFelons for a few years. That was a great finish by I-o-double-u-a. The other good bowl game so far was the Liberty Bowl (Louisville over Boise State), that was good as advertised. -
Good News! 21/Harrisburg to carry "A" game
Greg de'Ville posted a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why is the local affiliate blowing off the Ravens and Iggles in favor of the Bills-Steelers game? BECAUSE THE PEOPLE (and de'Ville's at the front of the line) DEMANDED IT! Fasten your seat belts, folks. The final exam is tomorrow. Our Heroes need to ace it and get help from St. Looie (doubtful from Indy) to play beyond Sunday. Bills need to bring their "A" game tomorrow regardless of who's in/out for Pittsburgh. It won't be easy, but victory can be achieved. -
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/foot...hs.r/index.html But, Dr. Z, come on! Too late? Over? Did you say over? NOTHING'S OVER 'TIL WE DECIDE IT IS! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? (Germans? Forget it, he's rolling) HELL NO! Who's with me? Cowher? He's a dead man. Roethlisberger? Dead. Niedermayer?..........

...are they gonna be all over Dangling Chad's * like glue. The tabs have been riding him for coming up short in big games--Sunday's to the Patsies is another Exhibit-A. If the Dog-Ass Jets fail to make the playoffs after being in the WC driver's seat most of the way, well, I can only imagine what the scribes will write then.

...when is Err-ickson going to get sh*t-canned? That must have been priceless. I could just envision the vacant stare on his puss while the Bills poured it on. A lousy coach on a lousy 2-and-14 team. Err-ickson and the Niners deserve each other. -

Jets getting their collective behind
Greg de'Ville replied to ajzepp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...both the Dog-Ass Jets and the Bronx have been schizo teams the last month or so, mostly not good. You don't know game-to-game what you're going to get from them. Adds a little more flavor to this Sunday's drama. -
Thank YOU... HOUSTON!

What is the deal with the Jets?
Greg de'Ville replied to MUTiger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...yes, Bills win over the Dog-Ass Jets in that tiebreak by better record vs. common opponents. -

SHOCKING - Reggie White dead at 43
Greg de'Ville replied to Golden Wheels's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
...I was shocked and saddened, watching the Steeler game today, of the sudden passing of The Minister of Defense. The league was blessed in that two of the game's greatest DEs strutted their stuff with distinction for many years in virtually the same time frame: Bruce Smith and Reggie White. The irony was that neither the Iggles nor the Pack played today. It would been very tough for coaches and players of either team to keep focus had they taken the field. The tributes I've watched from players and coaches from both organizations have been quite moving. A great player and a greater person. His was one of the most recognizable voices in the game--when you heard his rasp, you knew immediately who was speaking. God bless Reggie White and his family. -
...and look where they are now. INCREDIBLE! Really folks, it took a lot dominoes to fall on the part of a lot of other teams, and the Bills were in essence in playoff mode since the loss at NE, to make what seemed impossible only a short time ago, a legit possibility. Regardless of what happens playoff-wise, I look at this Sunday's game with the Steelers as the final exam for the 2004 Bills. This is where all the preparation and all the momentum built up over the past 9-10 weeks or so can and MUST pay off. Beating twinkies like Arizona and the Niners are one thing. Beating THIS team is a whole 'nother animal. Sure, it would be nice to see how the Bills would match up against Big Ben and the Bus next week, but since they may not be play--or sparingly, if that--it becomes moot. The Steelers still have a lot of weapons on offense, a very tough offensive line, and a defense that gets after people and does not yield much points-wise. It will take a GREAT EFFORT by Our Heroes to get it done at Ralphie's. I believe they can meet this challenge. For the first time in five years, folks, five years TO THE DAY since the Forward Lateral in Nashhole, the Bills are playing a meaningful football game--a quasi-playoff game if you will. They need to follow the formula that's proven successful most of the last two months--play their game, knock their opponents on their butts and don't worry about what the Bronx or Dog-Ass Jets do because that's out of their hands. All the focus has to be squarely on taking on and beating an exceptional Steelers team that has won 13 in a row. I was pleased tonight that Willis McGahee not only played, but also played well. Lee Evans had another solid game--he's really coming on as a "go-to" player, and the defense, well they've been superb in all but a handful of games this season. Same for the STs. Just focus on the Steelers, Bills...us diehards will root like h-e-double hockey sticks for you to take down the Steelers, for the Lambs to take out the Dog-Ass Jets , and for Peyton Who's Insurance Adjusters to take out the Bronx. Thank you Mike Mularkey and staff for bringing hope back to Bills fans all over creation. To have the opportunity to become only the second team in league history to make the playoffs after starting a season 0-4...wow, whodathunkit. JUST DO IT!

...gotta beat the Stinky Little Steelers with or without Big Ben & the Bus (the former's injured, the latter may be parked next Sunday now that homefield is secured). It would have been nice had the TenneFrauds taken out Denver, but it was not to be. We need the Insurance Adjusters to take care of them. It's time to take the Steelers number down next Sunday. 10-6 would be an amazing feat for the Bills given the horrible start they had.
