at least quote me lol and yes- historically bad Bills defense against the Chiefs in their four playoff losses 17 touchdowns 7 field goals 6 punts 3 end of half kneel-downs 3 end of game kneeldowns 2 turnovers (both fumbles) 1 missed field goal Average points per game: 34.75 Points per drive: 3.56 For the record, the Detroit Lions led the NFL in points per drive at 3.09 in 2024. If you’re keeping score (pun intended), the Bills have allowed 24 scoring drives out of 39 possessions. Take out six kneel-downs and it’s 24 out of 33, for a scoring rate of 72.7% and a touchdown rate of 51.5%. The Chiefs have never had to punt more than twice in any of these postseason meetings and have averaged 34.75 points in their wins. Sunday’s game marked Kansas City’s season high in points scored (32) and tied for a season high in first downs (28).

Why no tush push on the Allen QB sneaks?

I know and there's absolutely a fine line I just hate how we always fall on the wrong side of it when we play KC -

it begs the question Cowherd brought up yesterday- wouldn't you, as part of a well-prepared staff, at least want to have a different play you've practiced during the regular season and hopefully put on tape if for no other reason than to give the defense something to think about? -
hate to be the one to break it to you Defensive efficiency was a major issue for Buffalo Bills The Bills posted a defensive Expected Points Added (EPA) per play of -0.234, which is a poor mark, terrible actually. Not to be outdone by their 46.7% success rate, which was the worst of any team that played in the conference championship, including the Washington Commanders’ defense — which let up 55 points. In fact, it was the worst defensive success rate out of any team, in any game, for the entire playoffs. Bills’ pass defense was historically bad Buffalo’s defensive drop-back success rate was just 31.4% — the worst by a significant margin in any playoff game this season. To put this into perspective, the NFL average during the 2024 regular season was 61.2%. It’s hard to describe how poorly the pass defense played.

It was a historically efficient season wrt to scoring, yes But imo it was also historically fortunate. Our delta between yards gained-points scored (there's a reason offenses and defenses are typically 'ranked' by yards gained/allowed) was I believe the largest in the league Simply put out scoring output was not commensurate w our yards gained and I would expect significant regression if that season was played 100x...which should make us feel worse, not better. Everything aligned for us this year. In addition to an extremely unlikely amount of points scored wrt yards gained we were also incredibly fortunate in turnover differential. +24 recovering 16fumbles and only losing 2 is unheard of. It was the perfect season variance-wise and we wasted it

Imagine being able to watch that play and blame Allen for the loss having just seen Mahomes throw up a similar prayer that Worthy is able to rip away from Bishop earlier in the game these arent real football takes

Not using James Cook on final drive a head scratcher
GoBills808 replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
they haven't gone to him ALL SEASON in high leverage situations...because he's not that kind of RB and when push comes to shove they don't trust the run game to convert why people are saying he should have got the ball here is beyond me -
Ffs please learn more football

ok i can see it now, this was the 2nd down call on chiefs last drive well for starters we aren't ready for their quick snap and beyond that it's a bad rep from Hamlin to not get over Gray...probably illegal contact on #84 tbh but that's why the Chiefs are the Chiefs and we are coming in 2nd to them every time do you think this play shows their talent outshining ours? It's just the superior playcall -

Again- go up and down the rosters. Watch the game. We weren't at some major talent disadvantage Their guys were prepared and had answers. Ours didn't and suffered for it. Explain it how you want -
it would be funny if someone would point out to Beane et al that we are responsible for a lot of it like if we beat KC the two or three times we're supposed to and go on to win Super Bowls suddenly we are the dynasty and Chiefs are chasing us one of the biggest sources of frustration is that we created the Chiefs

the first year in the AFCCG it was but every year since then we've had comparable talent imo I don't see how you can look at otherwise capable, high level players (who have just performed up to ability the entire season) suddenly and inevitably revert to poor play in the biggest moments and conclude it's NOT coaching tbh -

I didn't look at the game we just played and see a big difference in rosters, maybe that's just me -

If Allen asks for a new staff he should get it.
GoBills808 replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall
tf are you people talking about lol Cook was in on the last drive He ran a wheel on Allen's scramble, checkdown in the flats on the Shakir incompletion, and then made one of the sorriest attempts at blitz pickup vs Tranquill I've ever seen on the batted ball to Samuel -
Whoever Pegula's search committee recommends You know, same way they found McDermott.
