It's the fault of the personnel department, not the coach. (unless you want to assume that Doug II walked into Doug I's office and told him that he was happy with the 4 QB's on the roster.)
You're correct. I'm sure that someone will bring up other instances, but...decent QB's rarely hit the open market. The position is too difficult to fill.
In how many NFL seasons?
You get the ball to your playmakers with the expectation that they will make one guy miss. If that guy makes the play you tip your hat and move on. You shouldn't take a sack at the expense of attempting to make a play.

Thank you.
If they have hit their ceiling and their ceiling isn't at least above average then you pull the plug ASAP.
Our options, if EJ doesn't improve will be:
Live with EJ for 2014.
Live with Tuel for 2014.
Live with Thaddeus for 2014.
Raid the scrap heap for someone after cuts.
Trade for someone's backup.
Our options for 2015 are:
Live with EJ for 2015.
Bring in a vet who can challenge for the starting position.
Trade for a vet who can challenge for the starting position.
Draft a QB in 2015 though it won't be higher than the second round.
I really hope that the light comes on for EJ because there are no quick fixes here.
He's been here for over a year now. Is it too much to ask him to change the pics on his site?
What he said was stuupid IMO.
Also stuupid to get all indignant about it.

I'm not a SJ hater, but, isn't it the WR who needs to adjust? You expect a non-Ivy League QB to know where SJ will be on every route vs. all other WR's on the team? That's crazy talk.
