Ok. So when you say layering I assume you bought them on the open market with different maturities? When you say retirement is coming how many years are we looking at here?
-
Lots of missing information here but on the face not sure why you would do this. How old are you and are you retired? Are you using them for income or are you expecting that rates will drop in the next 24 months and you can sell them for a premium?

What is better, no guns, or more guns?
Chef Jim replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Then what did you mean when you said “ban guns”? -

So I need clarification. You are for an outright ban of all personally owned firearms? -
Biden and the crises er challenge on the border
Chef Jim replied to Unforgiven's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Gee imagine that. People are googling what is in the news. 🤦🏻♂️ With the short attention spans and how quickly the news cycle changes so too will the Google searches. I assume the border searches have already been replaced by something else at the top. Has the resent stunts prompted a visit to the border by our President or our VP “Border Czar”? Not yet and likely won’t. -
File that in the department of redundancy department.

No he’s the textbook definition of a psychotic.

Biden and the crises er challenge on the border

I agree we have too many people here. That’s been my contention all along regarding the border. But you have not tied that into homelessness. Can you? And if not why bring that up. And yes we have lots of illegal, and extremely harmfu,l drugs pouring across the border. Drug addiction and overdosed is an epidemic here. Bur how does shipping migrants north shine a light on that? It doesn’t. These politicians are really stupid. -

No one is going to come out looking good on this. And, as I mentioned earlier, because the left tends to control the media/message the GOP will get the worst of it in my opinion. As usual, politicians didn’t think things through. This type of behavior would never fly in the private sector. -

Wrong! The homeless are almost all citizens. Not a lot of Hispanics that are homeless. They all work to support each other. The immigrants we bring in supply cheap labor. I live in a very labor intensive area. And they are almost all Hispanic. Please connect the dots of homelessness in this country to the issues at the border. The cartel needs a market for their drugs and we’ve created that market with the drug abuse in this country. -

I think DeSantis needs to focus on the issues that affect his state such as his homeless population and drug overdose deaths. If he wants to solve our immigration policy he should run for a federal position. I’d be pissed if I was a FL resident and he was spending my tax dollars on political stunts. BTW if you’ve learned one thing over the past several decades it should be quite clear that our federal government has no desire to fix our southern border. -

Most people?? Ha. You’re delusional. Who are these “most people” your talking to about the border? I’m not seeing/hearing it other than here. All I’m seeing is people talking about the stunts. Funny how you are talking about the left shipping illegals all around the country. I’m seeing only one side doing that now. Guys….take off your partisan blinders. And horrible analogy regarding the concentration camps. 😡 -

YOU called it a stunt! 🤦🏻♂️ Two years?? Wake up dude. It’s been decades! I’ve been in CA for 40 years and have seen it pretty much since I arrived. Brilliant?? You have a funny interpretation of brilliance. Check back with me in 12 months and show my how brilliant this has been. I predict a major backfire. It already is backfiring. When you have the media against you stunts don’t work. God these guys are ***** idiots. -

Who is they? All I’m seeing is them talking about the MV stunt. Show me who they are. Who’s pushing Joe? How are they pushing Joe? How is the Biden Administration addressing this “almost” daily? True but that will change nothing. You know why? They left have dug in their heels. You know why they’ve dug in their heels? Because they think they are in the right side of this issue. So how do WE fix it? By voting and getting people in place that can a) have the balls to fix it or even WANT to fix it and b) have great negotiation skills to get both sides ti agree on a fix. Now having said that it appears it will NEVER get fixed. -

Yup front page. And what is being discussed? The Problem at the border or the stunts being pulled and DeSantis and Newsom exchanging hair care jabs. Sorry but my opinion still stands. It's a childish political stunt that will backfire. Raise awareness on a national level. HA. Not really. And nothing will be done. Hmmm even the Media darling of the GOP Fox News is not talking about the border but about the stunt. How do you spell backfire? This is how you spell backfire. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ron-desantis-other-florida-officials-hit-class-action-lawsuit-migrants-flown-massachusetts -
Well he is correct. 😁

For once he spoke the truth.

Of course this has to do with increasing rates. The number one tool in the inflation beating toolbox is rate increases. It's the price to pay to get inflation in check. It's enemy #1 regarding our economy now and it has to be brought back to historical norms. Home prices have already begun to drop due to these rate increases and I imagine you will see dramatic drops in home prices over the next 12 months or so. And that is not a bad thing.

DeSantis For President in 2024?
Chef Jim replied to Tiberius's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I know his assertion and that’s what I was referring to when I said it doesn’t make sense. Sorry for the ambiguity. -
DeSantis For President in 2024?
Chef Jim replied to Tiberius's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That wouldn’t make sense. That means we could only accept asylum seekers from Mexico or Canada. -

And did the Biden Administration follow it or did they just drop off the migrants with a handshake and a wish of “good luck” Funny how you’re the number one accuser of deflecting when you yourself are the king of deflection. So what’s your answer to the question above. And saying “I don’t know” is completely acceptable and is actually a sign of maturity. Because my answer to my own question is “I don’t know”. -
DeSantis For President in 2024?
Chef Jim replied to Tiberius's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I care about the actions of our current President. Now back to my question. Was their a path to citizenship for illegals sent by the Biden Administration to sanctuary cities? That’s not shifting. That’s a debate. A series of questions. Sooooo what is the answer? Do you even know? -
DeSantis For President in 2024?
Chef Jim replied to Tiberius's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don’t care who else did this. I’m talking about our current administration. See I’m not the type of person to dismiss potential bad behavior just because others do it. My question is legitimate. Was there a path to citizenship for the migrants the Biden administration shipped to sanctuary cities? Personally I don’t know the answer and apparently you don’t either. -

Was there any path to citizenship for these migrants the Biden Administration shipped to sanctuary cities? Oh I’m sorry. Did I force you into an adult conversation? Answer the question or stick with you childish memes. -

Are those immigrants still in the country illegally after they’ve been sent to sanctuary cities? Was there any process to make them legal citizens once they arrived?
