Get your paperwork in order or the police have carte blanche to breakup your peaceful protest? That doesn't sound like protecting or serving. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I made a simple point that just because the police can use force in dispersing crowds (in this instance protests we're referring to as generally all DC protests) doesn't mean that's the best course of action. And for the rest of the day I have responded to mostly comments that I have not made and the general aspersions as to why I have been silent in this thread on every other pertinent matter (because I don't spend as much time as I used to in this time suck). This call out just cements the fact that no one bothered to read or comprehend my initial comment. What bearing does your specific situation have on my point that I would consider retracting? How many of these violent protests started out peaceful?

Well ask the folks who have had their blocks of business destroyed. Ask them if they feel they have been taken over. So it can be looked at in that way. Wouldn't you agree?
-
Nothing. But they've destroyed a lot of property. Not a good look for their cause wouldn't you agree?

Sorry I had a major typo. You said he's HIDDEN from them. How has he hidden? Not visiting is not the same as hiding. But you knew that. You just liked the visual of him COWERING IN A BUNKER!!!!! I do agree a visit would have been a great gesture. Unfortunately this has VERY little to do with Minnesota now. You are 1000000000% right Joe. Know anyone? -

About 20 years ago I worked with a young Bulgarian. I visited his parents and their friends who were also from Bulgaria. They were floored that we’d even consider socialism here.

They don't work. I'm not saying they shouldn't be in place but I don't know of any situation where they have done anything.

This is brilliant! These curfews are a great idea. Yes yes. Let’s just eliminate the night protests. I see it now. Rioters: BURN THE MOTHER*****ING CITY TO THE MOTHER ***** GROUND!! City Official: Sorry, sorry, city’s closed. Come back in the morning. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great night. Rioters: Aaaawwwwwww.....? Rioter: Come on to my house. My mom got a new flavor of Hot Pockets!!! Rioters: YAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!! What Ivory Tower do you live in?

News From The Front: We interrupt your Liberal Protest Thread to talk about the Pandemic. Today's headline: Chef Jim Got His Haircut. The Pandemic is OVER!! -
This is great!!! I have a very good friend who lives in Savannah. And to quote her from a text today "the protest is led by city officials here in Savannah and so far so good!". But it's still light there

The wife and I slept with two guns on top of the safe near our bed every night when we lived in Oakland. I remember on more than one occasion up and about in the wee hours with my weapon in hand locked and loaded. I remember calling the police once and telling them "I have a weapon". It's not a good feeling.
