  1. Well, then there is that.......................... If Tyrod agreed to a $5 mill contract next year and we kept all our draft picks for the 2018 draft......... and maybe replaced Dennision, that would be a pretty nice situation.................no ???
  2. Thanks for that info. I think you're correct. First, let's put this into perspective........ 3 years ago the management at OBD decided we needed a new QB. They assembled a field of candidates that included Tyrod, Thad Lewis, and Jeff Tuel. One of these guys would become the starting QB for the Buffalo Bills. Tyrod won the job. Last year, all the guys at OBD who thought this was a good idea got fired. All except Tyrod. Second, when they brought in the new coaching staff for interviews, the management at OBD asked everybody if they were comfortable with Tyrod at starting QB. Rick Dennison apparently said he was comfortable with Tyrod, and took the job. Rick Dennison probably told McDermoot and the Pegula's that he could design a system that would work with Tyrod at QB. Fast forward to today.
  3. I think it's different for a journeyman backup QB like Tyrod. It's not like he was a #1 draft choice out of college who won the Heisman Trophy and now he's a bust. He was a backup for 5 years and somebody offered him the starting job here. The management at OBD knew what they were getting. Tyrod has still gotta be laughing about that. Somebody, please give me a little help. Who was Tyrod competing against when he won the job ?
  4. The point is, you're bashing the wrong person/s The management at OBD went out and found Tyrod, and gave him the job. His game hasn't changed since he got here. He is what he is, and you're complaining about him, like it's his fault he's the starting QB for the Buffalo Bills. Who gave him this job ? Who were the other QB candidates that he beat out for the job ? How has Tyrod managed to keep his job for 3 years ? Tyrod is just being Tyrod and everybody is complaining he's not good enough. When are you people going to get smart and realize the problem isn't Tyrod ? The problem is the sh** organization running this show that put him there and left him there for 3 years ! And why isn't there the same level of disgust for the O Line, the D Line, the LB's and WR's ? They all stink too ! Who's running this ship ? That's where the problem lies. Now, let's see how long it takes for this thread to be taken down.
  5. First, I would like to thank Tyrod for being a class guy, and doing his best for as long as he did. Second, let's remember, Tyrod didn't hire himself to be the starting QB for the Buffalo Bills. He was asked to come here, and he did. He was asked to compete for the job, and won, and was given the starting QB job. He was given a salary of something like $18 million dollars, because that's what OBD thought he was worth. He agreed to take a pay cut this year, and he did. How can people bash the guy for that? Tyrod deserves better than what some of you are dishing out.
  6. Thank you Virgil for giving us something to look forward to reading at the end of Bills games. I think it's called a "cathartic moment" when you get to sum up all the weird crap we just witnessed and put it in a place where we can leave it behind for awhile. As far as my take on the game, it was the best of times, and the worst of times. One of best games by the Defense this year. They say everyone ramps up a notch for the playoffs, and this D did that. It was the worst of times for the Offense, as they did their usual performance of starting the game strong, before slowly but inevitably degenerating as the game wore on. So that by the end of the 4th quarter, with the game on the line.............. they just looked like the same over matched and confused team we've been watching for 18 years. Time to crack open a Genny Cream ale and look forward to the up coming draft. Peace. Go Bills !
  7. Actually, this Jags team is wildly inconsistent, just like our Bills.............. which is why they're both playing in a Wild Card game. Both Defenses are going to try to bottle up the run and make the other QB throw the ball, hoping their secondary can ball hawk and score some defensive points. Should be an exciting game...................... Go Bills !!!
  8. If McDermott were to call me and ask my advice (which he's never done before) I'd tell him this.............. Don't start Shady tomorrow. Don't even have him on the sideline at the beginning of the game. Make the Jagwires wonder if he can play........ Use Tolbert to run straight up the middle, over and over again. Then, at the start of the second quarter, have Shady enter the stadium in dramatic fashion, like Willis Reed did. Bring him into the game immediately, and have Tyrod throw some screens to him in the open field. The Jagwires will be demoralized and confused..........Shady will make them pay........... That my friends is how you win Championships ! But then, McDermott has a history of doing things his own way. Oh well..............
  9. Tyrod will be playing in the CFL next year. Not a knock...............just recognition of where he belongs. Sammy and Woods would also be complimentry to Tyrod up there, but I doubt they will leave LA Rams to follow............
  10. There are really 2 issues here, 1. Did he make the catch while in bounds ? 2. Should the call on the field have been overturned? After the game , there was this: Benjamin, for his part, seemed willing to put the whole thing behind him. "I know the rule when you go to the ground with the ball you got to really have it secured," Benjamin told NFL Network's Kimberly Jones. "That's why I was kinda trying to pull it in on the impact on the ground, but it wasn't a catch I guess ... overturned it. Like I said you can't do nothing about it." Seems like he is admitting it wasn't a clean catch, but the call by the refs was it was a TouchDown, and I don't think it should have been overturned. Football is entertainment for the masses, to keep them from questioning what's going on with the Government.
  11. I think all the talk about the refs giving the game to the Pats is a distraction from the real issue. The real issue, to me, is the fact that after 17 seasons of "rebuilding", the Pats are consistently a much better team than we are. And how can that be.................? How can it be that the Pats can put together a better team than ours, year after year after year, with worse draft position ? How can the Pats get better production from players that aren't better, or more gifted athletes than ours? For example, How is it that Dion Lewis can gash our Defense for 129 yards rushing, when Shady can only manage 71 yards? The Pats OLine is opening gaping holes for Dion to run through our DLine. Our Oline has been dreadful for years. Our Dline has been our strength, but not lately. Our LB's are old and slow. Posters on this message board complain that we haven't got quality receivers, and that's why our offense is terrible. Well who is Tom Brady throwing to? Danny Amendola, Brandin Cooks, Kenny Britt, Dwayne Allen, and Philip Dorsett. Not exactly big name receivers, but they seem to get the job done. The problem at OBD for many years has been the inability to draft quality personnel and fit them into a system that wins. I'm not sure if the right people are in the right spots now, but I believe we need to continue to clean house until the losing stops. If Belichick took this program over next year, we'd be talking about playing in the Super Bowl in 2 years, not whether we were going to get the last remaining Wild Card slot. I'm sick of losing, and I want a decent draft next year, whatever that means. Go Bills !
  12. It seems like every game the Bills start their first offensive series marching down the field with a good balanced attack. Probably because that's what they practice all week...... Then, if they score early, they continue to look organized, until the 2nd half, when they look totally confused. At that point the Defense caves in and the game is over for us.
  13. I feel an 8 and 8 season is upon us.................
  14. I think the reason they unloaded Darius was to free up $$$ so they could sign a vet QB, like Cousins. Then use their high draft choices to find and develop stud linemen. If that's the plan, it makes sense to me.
  15. That's for sure. I think we are starting to get a better look at who he is, now that he's played a few quarters. He has a lot of potential, but he's made some really dumb decisions. He has talent that Tyrod doesn't have, and never will, but he lacks judgement, and judgement is what Tyrod has. Overall, I'm glad that McD started Peterman in the San Diego game, and we got a chance to see J Webb, too before they were needed yesterday. We needed all of them yesterday. As a side note, what do you think Tyrod would have been able to do yesterday if he were healthy ? Shady had a great day. The two of them could have set records for elusiveness in the snow.
  16. Oh great, more stats to show that TT is a top 5 QB in the NFL. Too bad he doesn't pass the "eye" test. That's the test where you actually watch the game and see what a disaster he can be.
  17. TT has a big contract for a 2nd string QB. First he'd have to be let go by Bills, test FA. Then nobody calls and he renegotiates a new contract worth about $3 mil. Just to keep you happy? That's not going to happen................
  18. Our Offense is terrible. Our Defense is not terrible because the new leadership was able to cobble together some solid FA's and some draft picks that actually panned out, for a change. Cornerbacks are cheaper and easier to find than franchise QB's Eli has more Championship rings than everybody on this board, and he did that by not making a lot of bad throws. He needs to end his career in a peaceful place, like Buffalo.........
  19. He's not a FA. He could be traded by the Jints for a draft pick or two. Offer them Tyrod and Tre' Davious White. Maybe they'd take it.
  20. When a guy, any guy, gets the dear John letter, he's likely to get mad and do dumb things. Eli has played in NY his whole career. He's comfortable with the weather. He will put on a sweater and play. Just give me the damn checkbook.................
  21. That would certainly shake things up. Bring in a proven QB to school whomever we get in the draft, or Peterman. We might actually get him for cheap, since he's a "has-been" hoping to go out in style. Use 2018 draft picks to shore up the O Line. It would give us a chance to evaluate Dennison with no excuses.
  22. Well then, I'll take you to McDonalds for breakfast and get you a "Happy Meal"...........
  23. I've been reading posts here for a long, long time. Never read one quite like this............... you gotta be strong to be a Bills fan, dude............
