  1. I agree, Orton was not as athletic as Allen, so it was a bad comparison on my part. But the only reason I can see that we drafted Allen with the 7th pick, is because we have a brand new front office, eager to find a gem in the rough, like Tom Brady, and forever set themselves apart from the pack. I'm wasn't sold on Josh Allen as the best 7th pick, and this game didn't do anything to alleviate my fears. Yes, he was playing with the 3rds. but he is uncomfortably inaccurate with many of his throws.
  2. I think Josh Allen comfortably compares with Kyle Orton. Big arm...........lot's of inaccurate throws................every once in awhile a great throw.......... Bottom line, we lose the game.................
  3. Exactly...........we're picking up a WR who broke his hand TWICE in 2 years.................... What does he use to catch the ball ??? Is there a HOF WR who had his hand broken TWICE in his entire career ?? This is like getting a great deal on a used car, and wondering why the price is so low................
  4. Yeah, and now add Tyrod Taylor to the list of Brown's QB's who can't hit a speed guy to save their life. Looks like the Brown's are doing the same thing the Bills did when they unloaded Sammy, Goodwin, and Woods.
  5. Jets and Cardinals rivalry? I'm sorry, I got caught day dreaming............... It's just hard for me to digest this whole situation of passing on Rosen for Allen. I'm trying.........I'm doing my best to get behind the big oaf. Maybe he is the second coming of Roethlislinger............ I just don't know, and I haven't been able to sleep very well.........because I'm worrying. Now when the reports start trickling in about this guy doing this, or that guy doing that............. I can't take another 4 years of hoping, like we did with Losman, and Manuel, and Taylor. I could go on and on................I'm close to tears right now................... I'm trying..............
  6. I think Darnold and Rosen will have that rivalry in a few years. I think Josh Allen is more of an Andy Dalton sort of QB.
  7. I'm impressed with this new GM Beane. Whaley wouldn't have been able to explain the plan; his plan, their plan, or any plan. Buddy Nix wouldn't have answered the phone. Beane seems driven to build this team into a contender. I'm starting to like the guy, even though he doesn't always draft who I want.
  8. I'm glad this thread popped up, because it provides an opportunity to talk about arm strength and whether that matters. Josh Allen is mentioned, ad nauseam, as a guy with tremendous arm strength........as though that's the key ingredient to success. If arm strength mattered, Cardale Jones would be a starting QB somewhere. Josh Allen has a gun..............Cardale Jones has a cannon..........................
  9. I've gotta say Tyrod has done very well for himself with his limited skill set. He's about to start his 4th season as a starting QB in the NFL, and he's being paid real money. Whether or not he can quickly read a defense, or throw a ball which compliments a WR's movement. He keeps his comments short and clean, looks good, and keeps the message board moving on slow days..............
  10. This is incredible news !!!! It means we don't have to hire and train WR's. Just get a bunch of old tires and roll them out on the field. What could be simpler than that !!!!???!!!!
  11. Some of us are old enough to remember Bill Polian as GM. Bill Polian built the Buffalo Bills into a powerhouse that won the AFC title 4 times in a row. Not the AFC East....the AFC. ............Four straight trips to the Super Bowl. After Polian was fired, he went to the Carolina Panthers and almost won a Super Bowl in his 2nd year. After Carolina, Polian took over the Indianapolis Colts and built them into a powerhouse. Bill Polian is a 10 as a GM, IMHO. Doug Whaley is a 2................maybe. Best of luck in your new job, Doug.
  12. Well, there's that skill set. At least now he has a job, and a phone to sit next to while he waits for calls from people looking for LB's. And sooner or later, everybody needs a decent LB. Need a LB ??? Call Doug Whaley. I've got his phone number right here...........well...........give me a minute.............well, look it up....NFLP game .com He's the new director, or something................call him.........he'd be happy to talk to someone.........anyone........
  13. I wonder what his lunch time behavior is going to be like. I doubt he has to rush back to the office......
  14. This seems like a great gig. 40 hours a week looking for kids to play in a lower level college all star football game. What do you suppose his annual salary would be a for a job like that ?
  15. IMHO, the reason the Bills have been down so long is because they haven't been able to build the team through the draft. With that in mind, my choice for biggest improvement has been GM Brandon Beane, and HC Sean McDermott. I think this has been one of the best drafts in a long time. The biggest loss was losing DC Jim Schwartz a few years back.
  16. I've been drinking Genesee Cream Ale every day for the past 40 years or so, and haven't missed a day of work. I strongly recommend everyone try that stuff, including Charles Clay.
  17. Richie had a pretty messed up week...............
  18. Who's the cat that walks about when there's danger all about? He's a complicated man, but no one understands him but his woman.................. He's a bad Mother...................
  19. How do you know this? I can't believe I'm reading this................Is that really how Russ Brandon got concessionary deals ? They must have also tied him up on a strong back chair, because Richie ain't afraid of nobody........
  20. This is great, but I recall reading about how EJ Manual would lie in bed at night, flipping the ball to himself. That didn't translate into being able to read defenses quickly, make the right decision, and then put the ball out in front of the receiver so he can catch it on the dead run. Let's hope Allen or McCarron can do that.
  21. Hey..............isn't there a thread or two about Tyrod already ??? (just kidding)
  22. I agree that Tom Donahoe was a better GM than Marv, Buddy, and Doug, although I didn't like him when he was here. Tom Donahoe didn't crawl into a hole and disappear after he was fired in Buffalo. He's now working for the Philadelphia Eagles as the Senior Director of Player Personnel and just won a Super Bowl. Marv Levy spends his days looking for his glasses, Buddy Nix is trying to remember where he put his phone, and Doug Whaley is probably going to a shrink to figure out why nobody likes him.
  23. 2005 was a bad year. Tom Donahoe fired Gregg Williams and replace him with Mike Mularkey Then, there was the draft................
  24. You forgot to add an unproven Offensive Coordinator.................
