Okay, I guess I've got use my "used car" analogy again to explain this. _________________________ Last year Beane went shopping for a good used QB. He found AJ, and was told he was in really good condition, hardly ever used, and had a great motor. Beane checked his CarFax, looked under the hood, and negotiated a fair deal, sort of, if the QB was as advertised. 2 weeks ago ,when Beane was driving the car (AJ) around, he ran over something in the road, and there was a loud clunk under the hood. Beane got bad news from the first mechanic he took the car (AJ) to. A broken suspension. Beane is no dumby, so he took the car (AJ) to another mechanic who said maybe the damage was fixable. Beane is the type of guy who always likes insurance, and he didn't have any with a used QB. So he talked it over with his wife (McD) and they decided to sell the car (AJ) and start fresh. Why risk finding out the first mechanic was right, and not being able to get anything for this lemon of a car (AJ) And hey, there's lots of great used QB's still out there!

Foster will be picked up by the NE Patriots 2 minutes after we cut him............ and come back to haunt us..............................................................(just kidding)

He's not an NFL caliber gunner, IMHO. He's a future track coach at Alabama.
-
I wanted to see the kid do well and make the team. But I watched him play, and thought he doesn't seem to have the "fire" to be an NFL player. I don't think he relishes the idea of banging heads with NFL DB's. He's a speed guy...........a greyhound..........those guys don't like contact. There's a high school out there somewhere that needs a track coach. I wish him well.

Peterman will never live down the 5-pick half . . .

Nathan "Sixpix" Peterman Just kind of rolls off the tongue............. But it would have to happen in a regular season game.........preseason doesn't count. -

Well, one thing that should be obvious by now is that McD obviously likes Peterman and doesn't mind giving him the ball, regardless of what any of the detractors on this board say. At the end of the season in 2017, McBean was quick to let Dennison go, but they've still got high hopes for the kid. On a further note, McD doesn't seem to be the best game manager in the league. He's a good administrator and leader, but some of his game decisions are curious, such as the Peterman experiment. If you want a bad analogy, McD comes off like Tyrod with the ball. McD knows what he should do, but hesitates, and sometimes doesn't do anything. He's no Bill Parcells............... -

It was in one of the posts made at the time of the game. I'll try to find it in the archives. Not making this up, I swear. Now whether one believes it, or thinks Wood was publically covering for his brother lineman, that's another issue. The issue I find most troubling about your comment, that Eric Wood took the blame for a bad snap count, is that it presumes there was only one occurrence where a Charger was penetrating the backfield unabated, or nearly unabated. If you saw the game, or just watch the Joey Bosa Video on Youtube, you will see multiple occurrences of Chargers running past our O Line with little or no contact. For example, in the video, if you go to the 1:00 minute mark you will see Mills not lined up against anybody, probably out of position, and 2 Chargers come unabated. It doesn't look like there's a snap count issue on that play. The at the 1:18 mark, Bosa again comes nearly unabated save for a brief patty cake from Mills. Look at the expression Shady makes after the play. WTF ? Is this the play Wood blows the snap count ? At the 1:30 mark, Bosa lines up against Dawkins, and again a patty cake hand slap. How lame is this O Line ? If they weren't pissed off at McD for starting Peterman, they're just horrible at what they do. Yet they are still with the team........... and starting.......... and making terrible plays.....and getting paid A LOT of money. -

Well the good news is it appears you've recovered nicely, and maybe Peterman has to, because he definitely had a seizure at work that day too ! -

I would be very interested in seeing some sort of evidence to support this claim, that Eric Wood publicly said he made an error. This is the first I've heard this...........not saying you're wrong............just don't remember ever seeing it. -

Let's put the 5 pick game into perspective........... Tyrod was being criticized for being too cautious with the ball. McD and Dennison decided to give Peterman the start in LA, probably because they wanted him to throw the ball more. The expectation was that Peterman would be able to complete more passes because he had a faster read and release than Tyrod. That was the coaches decision, just throw the damn ball !! So the decision to start Peterman over Tyrod didn't go over very well with some on the BB O Line. We all saw the tape of a miked up Joey Bosa running to the sideline yelling, "they're not even trying to block me" The results were a combination of a determined coaching staff, and a 5th round draft pick getting his first shot at a start in the NFL, after he had been told to just throw the damn ball. The reason there are no other 5 interception games in one half in the NFL is because there aren't any other OC's in the league who would have kept calling for passing plays after watching a very rattled 5th round rookie QB in his first game struggle. Dennison and McD must have been telling Peterman after each inception to put it all behind him and keep throwing the damn ball. They could have just handed the ball of to Shady and let the game go...............but they didn't. They left Peterman out there to pee all over himself. -
I agree with that. The decision to ask him for a pay cut seems like it was intended to try to save some money so they could use it to sign other players. They wanted to take money out of Richie's pocket and give it to Star Lotulelei. Good grief !

Kouandjio was found running around naked in a field at 3am, screaming incoherent phrases. Henderson got busted umpteen times for failing drug tests. Zay Jones got caught running around naked screaming incoherent phrases. What's being nuts got to do with anything ? The NFL is littered with nuts. Richie could at least block his assignment and open holes for Shady, whether he was wearing clothes, or not. As for saying no to the pay cut, HE DID !
-
I don't miss those 2, Henderson and Kouandjio. The guy I miss is Richie Incognito. What a stupid decision that was, to ask him to take a pay cut. How'd that work out ?

Most everybody on this board has sounded really chippy the past few days, predicting big things from J Allen. He looked like a rookie playing in front of a bad O Line to me, and that's what we've got. That's reality. Cincy might be much improved, but we looked very disorganized. Shady didn't play, but that was about the only piece missing from this puzzle. The O and D Lines looked mostly awful today. I don't understand how people are saying it's still a preseason game and we weren't showing anything. I don't see the interior linemen making big improvements any time soon.

No, not in LA. None of the cops would be white. All would be about 5' 3" tall and 125 lbs. Some would be women. Some would be Korean. Some would be mixed race. All would've emptied their hand guns in the first 2 minutes. They would've shot Richie first, and then half the people working in the funeral home. Watch the news some time, buddy. Did you see how they handled the dude who ran into a Trader Joe's ? There were about 50 shots fired, in less than a minute, Into a crowded grocery store. There's a new reality for crap like this. They shoot first, and look for the guns in your car later. Maybe not in Scottsdale, but definitely in LA.

Star Lotulelei: Where is the Impact?

Yeah, I'm afraid we saw the real 2018 Bills tonight. We're definitely rebuilding the Oline and the DLine., and LB's............. again. We're thin.......at several key positions............ -

Just watching clips of the preseason game with Carolina right now. Josh Allen is lucky to be alive with some of his look down the defense and RUN ! -
Josh Rosen vs Josh Allen: Game 1 Comparison

I haven't seen a single comment about the performance Cardale Jones put in last night. He's the guy that nobody compares to Josh Allen because it doesn't fit the flow. You know, that Allen has size, and a big gun. Well, Cardale has a bigger gun, he was on our team last year, and now it looks like he's the #2 guy for the Rams. And he looked pretty darn good last night. Just saying................ -
Let's hope we keep the current QB nucleus intact for awhile. As a group, these guys seem light years better than anything we've had in many years............ I agree, bring Josh Allen along slooooowly.

Yes, but if you watched the tape on Baker Mayfield tonight, who is playing on a woeful team, he made the Browns look somewhat coherent, or confident tonight. I din't get that sense from Josh Allen. He looks every part like a very raw rookie.
