  1. We have finally exorcised the ghost of Ralph Wilson from the organization. Things at OBD seemed to start to slide when Ralph appointed Tom Donahoe to take over football operations. Tom Donahoe, Tom Modrak, Buddy Nix, Doug Whaley..............they kept an atmosphere of 2nd class organization around here. We are no longer trying to be "the little Pittsburgh Steelers" Finally, there is a complete clear out......the demons are gone.
  2. Has anybody bothered to ask Sammy what he wants to do next season ?? It's possible the Bills front Office approached Sammy's agent a week or 2 ago and asked if he'd consider an extension to his current contract. That's what front offices sometimes do.............try to pick up a franchise sort of guy on the cheap after a not so great couple of seasons. And maybe, just maybe the front office was told Sammy wanted to test the waters, as disgruntled franchise players sometimes do after a couple of not so great years. Just saying............
  3. This was great thread and there were lots of interesting comments made. I want to cap off this conversation about analytics and statistics by introducing this question. Let's pretend it's the first game of the 2017 season and we are playing the Pats in Foxboro........ There is 1:35 left in the game. The Pats just scored a TD to go ahead by 4 points. The ball is kicked into the end zone and the Bills start at their own 25......... Now, who do you want handling the ball ? Tyrod Taylor ?
  4. I've never read a specific reason why Russ Brandon is a major problem. There is all sorts of speculation, but nothing other than he is a member of a very unsuccessful brain trust. Maybe he provides some sort of stability with vendors and agents that makes him a valuable resource. I don't really believe that Russ Brandon has any say in personnel decisions anymore. He might offer a thumbs up, or thumbs down opinion, but I don't think he has veto power over anybody.
  5. Maybe he has a cappuccino maker and makes everybody delicious drinks. We had a guy who did that in the office, and he was terrible at his job, but everybody wanted a cappuccino every afternoon so he stayed employed.
  6. This draft had all the excitement of a wife sending her husband to the grocery store with a list, and instructions. "Bring back: 1 - CB 1 - WR 1 - OL 2 - LB 1 - QB and don't buy the most expensive brands. Just get what's on sale"
  7. The good news is we didn't trade up in the 1st round to take a QB from Tulane
  8. The good news. We didn't reach and give up any future 1st round picks to get a QB from Tulane.
  9. If I recall correctly, Donahoe had more than one title. He was President and GM, if not more. That gave Donahoe more control than Whaley, who doesn't really call the shots. The circus in the Bills front office is the problem.
  10. If I were a hot girl in a bar and approached by Michael Irvin, I would avoid any contact with him. But then........ I'm not hot......... or a girl..............
  11. First sign of Spring..........optimism of an improved team, and season...........
  12. I'm just getting my head around this thought right now.............. We've had EJ on the staff all year..........tutoring Cardale Jones..... No wonder Cardale isn't ready to step in and play..... Jeeeez
  13. This move makes a lot of sense, and I can't stand Tyrod. First, it would have been nuts to just let him walk. By signing him at a reduced rate, almost half off, he's now a steal in the trade market. You gotta believe 12 GM's are looking at how they can save a bunch of money by trading for TT and getting all that cap space you guys are talking about.
  14. Hold on here folks............. Remember, this is Tyrod Taylor we're talking about. A man known to be unpredictable when making decisions. That's what makes this so exciting. Please consider this.........an unscripted maneuver by Tyrod to throw everybody off. ( pretend this is a transcript of John Murphy calling a game ) Fasten your seats, folks......... There are 5 days left till the deadline. Tyrod Taylor breaks from the huddle with his financial advisor. He looks down field, toward Orchard Park. He pulls out his checkbook and looks like he's going to throw a check toward where Sammy Watkins lives. Hold on, his financial pocket is breaking down and he's pulling back the checkbook. Holy cow ! He's taking off with the checkbook on his own. He's heading downfield, toward Cleveland. Oh my ! He's still running ! It looks like he's headed to Chicago now............... Oh, wait ! He's broken more tackles and now he's heading toward San Francisco ! Can you BillEEve it !!
  15. or maybe his lease is up............
  16. TT is seen moving out of his apartment and the only explanation is he's about to sign a long term contract ???
  17. We should give credit to the Pats for what might be the greatest Super Bowl victory ever. Let's also remember we beat them in Foxboro........wait.......shut them out.......... They might not have had Brady in uniform, but we scored lots of points on their defense.
  18. I'd like to nominate Les Miles to replace Rex Ryan as HC at the end of the year. Les was recently let go from LSU.
