  1. As always, a great read Virgil. Thanks !
  2. Get ahold of your self, man.........it's just a story..........one man's opinion. I suggest you get a good nights rest. You'll feel better in the morning...........
  3. Let's see.............the results of this draft. We were told by Mr Beane that the way to build a sustainable winning team was through the draft........ Then he acquired more FA than anybody could imagine ...... some will pan out..............most were journeymen looking for a new home........we'll see who stays. Then he drafts 2 first round quality guys, who will be franchise players for years.......... and the rest are a bunch of undersized, short armed, slow running, unexciting dudes............. I'm waiting for the Las Vegas odds makers to predict how our 2019 season will unfold before I congratulate the McBeane dudes. I have a feeling we're going 7-9 this year.
  4. I think we were all in agreement at the end of last season that the OLine needed to be overhauled, and improved. I'm not sure what to think about our recent additions, but I like the change. The Bills are in the business of selling season tickets, and they had to do something to get the fan base excited. I think they succeeded. I can't wait to see a dramatic improvement. Go Bills !
  5. Interesting that Miami waited about 5 minutes after Tyrod was signed to pick up Fitz........ They could'a had Tyrod, the other career journey man..............
  6. I think the biggest problem with this organization over the past 25 years has been the front office. The inability to find and develop talent within the coaching staff, and players. There have been several questionable decisions about head coaches, and their staff. Sometimes it's hard to know if the draft choices were as bad as they were, or we just never had a competent coaching staff that could develop players, the way NE and Pitt do.
  7. Looks like an improvement over what we have, and gives us flexibility. I read we had the lowest paid group of OLine players last year. This signing might indicate to available players that we are willing to pay for better play. The real question is whether our new OLine coaches are any good................ Their thoughts were undoubtedly included in the decision to sign Long. Now the coaches need to produce ................
  8. I agree with this, but that doesn't mean I think they are really good at what they do, either. They've done some very curious things in their tenure..................for example........... They signed AJ Mc to be the veteran guide for NP and JA, then traded him before the season, and were married to NP. It took way too long, IMHO before they realized they made a mistake. There were calls from most of the posters on this board to dump NP as the starter after game 1. The posters were right, McB was wrong. Then they dragged in Derrick Anderson and gave him the ball with not enough prep. A curious move. They kept KB in the starting lineup way too long, IMHO. Again, most of the posters from TBD were calling for KB to be sat down after 2 games. Again, the posters were correct, and McB was wrong. Who's responsible for these personnel choices ? Probably McDermott......... but we didn't see Beane handling his end of the process very well, either.
  9. I think it's a stretch to say that McBeane is making the best of a bad situation. They hired Juan Castillo, and fired Castillo, because our OLine is crap. They hired Danny Crossman, and fired Crossman because out ST are crap. They signed AJ McCarron, and traded MCarron, because he was not good. They started the season with 2 untested QBs, Peterman and J Allen. They replaced Peterman, because he was terrible. They scrambled to replace Peterman, and brought in Derrick Anderson, a washed up QB. Anderson was injured and they brought in Barkley. Now we have 2 veteran QB's to assist Allen. WTF ? The 2018 team looked as undisciplined and as confused as it has for the past 15 years. We haven't got any WR's who can catch the ball. Josh Allen's game looks somewhat like Tyrod Taylor, "helter skelter" Everybody talks about his big arm, but he's getting the yards on the ground, from broken plays. Yes, we had a better draft last year than we've had in the past 5 years, but we lost most of our premier players to trades, and retirement, so we tried to replace them with Z Jones, K Benjamin, Bodine, and Ducasse. The Las Vegas book makers say we are the last place team next year. They put their money where their mouth is. if you don't agree, take their bet and tell us how much money you made beating the experts next Christmas. As bad as we are, if Bill Belichick took over the current roster, we'd be in the playoffs next year. As good as the Patriots are right now, if McBeane took over the current Patriots roster right now, they'd be 6-10 next year.
  10. What surprises me about this game is the ability of coaching to elevate the play of average players to greatness. The Rams have a solid wall in their defensive front. They have A Donald and N Suh wrecking havoc, so what do the Pats do? They run Burkhead up the middle, and he gashes the DLine for 15 yards at a critical time in the game. The Pats are able to win with players like Burkhead, and Chris Hogan, and Julian Edelman, fer Chris sakes. Just goes to show you that coaching is the key ingredient in successful franchises. They don't need Amari Cooper, or LeVeon Bell, or Julio Jones, or Tyreek Hill, or Ezekial Elliott. If NE and Buffalo swapped all their players right now, the Pats would be in the playoffs next season, and McBeane would turn the Pats roster into 6-10 mush. Just sayin...............
  11. The only comment I will add is that when your franchise QB takes off running from a broken pocket, there is a tendency for the fans to get a sick feeling in the pit of their stomach, worrying that he might take a nasty hit and bruise his elbow, or something worse. When Tyrod used to leave the pocket, I would start to scream, and scream and scream until the play was over. Tyrod never seemed to move forward in a straight line. He looked like a pin ball. At least when Allen takes off he's usually making forward progress, at some point in the play. For some reason, I don't get as worried when Allen is running..............Tyrod used to scare the heck out of me.
  12. We just lost to the 3-9 Jets, at home, where they needed to come from behind in the last few minutes and win the game. Who are we going to beat ? Trust the process ? "Process" is something you put in your hair to take the curls out.................. Beane is a dumb kid learning how to be a GM, for the first time. McDermott is a dumb kid, learning how to be a HC, for the first time. J Allen is a dumb kid learning how to be a NFL QB, for the first time. They/we have a long way to go to get to the playoffs again.
  13. Hey, who says they are done with this ??? I'd say Brandon Beane has found himself a dream job here in Buffalo and won't stop fiddling with the gears until there's nobody left sitting on the couch, watching TV. He's dabbling this season like it's a video game, or something...........
  14. My guess is that Doug Marrone is going to blitz early and often to get Allen rattled. That strategy is probably going to work, and Allen will have a difficult game. We likely lose. Then the Dolphins away. Things tend to unravel for the Bills in Miami. We likely lose. Home vs the Jets, we likely win. The Lions have a decent pass rush, something we don't seem capable of defensing. We likely lose. The Patriots next. We likely lose. Home against Miami. Let's hope for a blizzard. We likely win.
  15. It was bad enough reading the whole story, but then somebody quotes it again ?????? Arggghhh !!!
