Is it really a simple scheme switch? An interested Mario Williams is gone. No Gilmore next year. No Aaron Williams next year. You sure about that? Would also love to know who we are replacing Tyrod with. All the anti tyrod people seem to think they have hall of fame qbs on sale for 39.99 at walmart. We havent been able to find a good qb over the past 17 years but suddenly the hall of famers are on sale at your local retailer because they are looking to slash prices due to an inventory glut.

Ok. So dont be like all the other people in the world who love to say that wont work. Tell us what the solution is. Cut Tyrod and.....?

Question. It was well known before that draft that Whaley was taking over. Your telling me that Nix makes that pick even if Whaley hates it. Says "look gramps, youve had a heck of a run but EJ really, really, really sucks. Please dont stick me with that loser." That Nix still makes that pick?

Source: Broncos expected to be interested in Anthony Lynn

How about Chuck Noll, Tom Landry and Don Shula? Why dont they make the list? You clearly have an agenda towards these fine coaches. So sad. -

Lynn as Broncos HC. Tyrod as QB. Broncos win Superbowl. Perfect! -
Agenda and dysfunction. The two most overused words when discussing Buffalo Sports.
-
I dont care if he throws for 1000 yards and 10 tds. Its the Jets and he still sucks. Good luck EJ. Heres a ten dollar watch from Wal-Mart. Have a nice career.

I think Tyrod needs to be brought back for a few reasons. First and foremost the offense was productive this year. Seventh in points to date. Second there is no option Im aware of at QB that guarantees improvement on that number if we cut him loose. Ive read plenty of anti-tyrod sentiment but not many if any real anti-tyrod solutions. Again seventh in scoring with one game to go. Might as well say seventh for the season because the Jets game is absolutely meaningless on so many levels. For all you anti tyrod people whats the answer if we cut him tomorrow. Bring in a journeyman? Draft a rookie and hope for the best? Trade? Some other solution? Im all for any sensible answer. Tyrod might not be the best passer on the planet but he doesnt turn the ball over, he does make some plays with his arm, and he makes many plays with his legs other QBs dont. 6 rushing tds to date to be exact in addition to 580 rushing yards. Tell me who the better option is and what you think the end result will be. We jump to fifth in points. Third? First? Last I checked if we score more than they do we win. This isnt a why we should or shouldnt keep Tyrod thread. Ive already stated hes cut tomorrow. Its about your specific plan once he turns in his playbook.

I would agree with this. Especially 3. Think the NFL needs to go back to the days of sitting a guy for 3 years before starting him. Need to invest the time to develop these guys. Not just throw them to the wolves and dump them after three years when they fall on their face. The college game isnt producing many NFL ready qbs.

My bad. I misunderstood. Thought you were referring to Taylor. My apologies. Though this does capture the essence of my point.

So the performance of your defense is irrelevant to the final outcome of any game? Is that what your saying?

Seems like a taller version of Tyrod. Could turn in to an interesting player if someone can get past the accuracy issues.

If Coughlin becomes HC, should the Bills trade for Eli?
TANK2 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You really didnt need to clarify it cause this trade is never happening. My hypothetical fourth was intended to be sarcastic only. You have to admit the way you structured that sentence is the way someone who is totally hammered might say it. Im just ribbing you a bit. No offense meant. A seventh for Brady or do you think the Pats just cut him and no one else puts in a waiver claim? Really dont want to blow a seventh if I dont have to. Maybe a compensatory seventh but my understanding of NFL rules is you cant trade those. -

Dont forget that we currently have the 7th most points on offense and would have probably set an NFL record for fewest turnovers had we decided not to roll the turnover machine known as EJ Manuel out on to the field tomorrow because we still arent 100 percent sold on the fact that the totally sucks. -

Or a fourth in 2018. The Jimmy Johnson chart says its the same thing and we dont have to give up a 2017 pick. Wow Dude. You on your fifteenth or sixteenth shot of Wild Turkey tonight? I cant even say that as a sentence and Im stone cold sober! -
You just layed out my worst nightmare. Good enough for John Elway. Not good enough for Doug Whaley. Lets take it a step further. EJ Manuel goes 25-35 for 375 and 4 tds tomorrow against a completely disinterested Jets team. Whaley takes the bait. Cuts Tyrod because EJ has arrived. He becomes the starter next year. Bills go 2-14 and lead the league in turnovers.
-
Hard to say given that he didnt have his best receiver half the year and now we find out hes been playing hurt and needs surgery. 7th in the league in scoring. He doesnt turn the ball over. Consistently makes plays with his legs other QBS cant. So the solution is to cut him and go with an unknown. No hes not Tom Brady but this is the best offense we have had in forever. Really dont understand why some think we are better off without him when we have no idea who his replacement is. Sounds like a strategy to finish 1-15 next year and draft a qb. The fans will be thrilled with that. Whose coming out next year at that position? Any big names yet?

Sully: Bills' bozos leave Lynn to twist on his own
TANK2 replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldnt. If both franchises keep languishing a clean sweep is not out of the question. The backlash from the fanbase can be pretty overwhelming. The last seventeen years was a factor in Rex getting dumped so quickly. People are pissed. Im sure Pegula hears it from his customers daily. Brandon isnt winning any popularity contests these days. More and more fans are starting to B word about him. Fair or not. Fair in my opinion. "Dont let Rex out of the building". Was that before or after he looked at his record and reputation as Jets head coach. Or did he even bother to look. Ryans departure was predictable the day he signed with Buffalo. Pegula has to be scratching his head on this one. And looking at others who thought it was a good idea. Welcome to corporate america. -

If they dont win Brandon and Whaley will be out. I have no doubt about that. -
Have to agree. Dont need this guy coming back to Buffalo in any sort of advisory role. Could also get alot worse at qb. Dont kid yourself. Watch the Jacksonville game from last year.

League record for least turnovers by an offense and a jump from 7 to 6 in total points scored. Would also like to see him get to 600 yards rushing or is he already there? Didnt have time to look that up. Some people cant see the forest through the trees. Huge mistake if they let him go with no legit replacement which I dont see them having by March, April, May, June, July, or August, Sept, Oct, Nov, or Dec for that matter. Hes not perfect but by far the best weve had in a long long time. And now were gonna let him walk. Couldnt be a more Billsy move. A new system on defense that the pothead can understand(see the ball Marcell, go get it) and we got a legit shot at an 11 win season next year with some solid coaching.

Giving your best most of the time to the person or people to whom you owe a specific duty or duties based on a mutually agreeable arrangement. You dont. You let that pot smoking tub of lard who clearly puts himself ahead of the team walk and be some other teams 100 million dollar problem. Especially when there are red flags everywhere that this particular tub of lard simply doesnt get it or care to get it. Whats the over under on his report back weight this spring btw. 400?. 425? Im going with 450!

Season observations, this team is good.

I cant agree with this notion that Terry Pegula is an owner you dont want to work for. As lousy as the Bills handled this the Pegulas have not lost their desire to do whatever it takes to field a winner. They continue to spend money like its water on both franchises. Just dropped a 42 million dollar contract on Kyle Okposo for the sabres and 30 plus million on Risto. Just ate 16.5 on Rexs deal when they realized the mistake they made on Rex. Yes they have made mistakes with both teams but the desire to win, willingness to spend, and unlimited resources that most of us loved when they bought both teams hasnt changed. If Im a coach I would certainly have some concerns but I think the pluses far outweigh the minuses. You coach here your going to get everything you ask for like Rex did. Saying this is a place people shouldnt want to come to is plain silly. The majority of sports franchise owners wont provide their coaches and gms with an open checkbook like the pegulas do. Lynn would be lucky to get this job. More changes are coming if they dont start winning more. Pretty foolish if they are leaking things to discredit Rex. Dont hear many fans griping about the actual firing. Trying to discredit him at this point is a waste of time. Rex dug his own grave in the short time he was here. -
Been a fan since 1973 when my father used to take me to what was then Rich Stadium if Im remembering that correctly. Watched OJ cut and slash through something other than his wife and fell in love with the game. 1980 was a great year when we finally beat the fish but lost to San Diego in the playoffs. Then the Kay Stephenson era. Then Hank Bullough. Then Marv and the greatest run in Bills history. Went to the fourth Superbowl in Atlanta when my buddies wife decided she didnt want to go.(he got the tixs at face through a connection in the front office. Plus he found us a decent hotel for just 22 a night about 45 mins out of town. Hated Flutie. Been 17 years of no playoffs. 50 now and hoping for one title before I die by the Sabres and Bills. Lived in Buffalo 49 of 50 years. Both teams are in my blood win lose or draw.
