I liked Sammy but I'd rather pay an elite quarterback. How many elite wrs have carried a team to the super bowl? None I can think of. Elite qb's do it almost every year.

I know it's a different era, but couldn't this play out like the Cowboys when they traded Herschel Walker to Minnesota? They parlayed that move into great picks, suffered 1 year of misery, and the rest was history. Not saying this is exactly the same because it's not, but the key here is drafting well going forward. It's a gutsy move. For all our sakes I hope it works. Hated it at first but the more I think about it, This year's team had a low ceiling anyway. Plus Watkins was unreliable and Darby hasn't been special enough to be untouchable. Now, make the extra picks and temporary misery pay off in the long run.

I like the added picks for next year, which if used wisely could really develop into long term future success. If this is the end of the moves I call it rebuilding on the fly. If McCoy, Taylor, Dareus or any combination thereof get dealt, then it's tank mode.

Sadly I think if Darnold is staring at Buffalo drafting him he'll just stay in school or force a trade.

You have to win the trench battle against Brady. Push his line back on him, get in his face all day, knock him down all day. He will burn you on blitzes but if you can consistently dominate the line he has a hard time getting in rhythm. Also, no matter what the score, KEEP POUNDING... Lost count of how many teams get 20 pts ahead then let him right back in the game because they get conservative and take their foot off the gas. The only way to beat these guys is to play all 60 minutes. 40 points isn't a safe lead against Pats.

The only way to prevent tanking would be if like soccer the bottom teams were demoted to a lower league and replaced with another team. That would punish absentee and dysfunctional owners and would put a premium on effort for the entire organization. However, no minors in the NFL...

In the interest of fairness, how about this? No divisions or conferences. Over the course of two years you would play every team. In four years you could play every team home and away. After 16 weeks seed the top 12 teams by record. Use overall points scored as tiebreaker if needed. This gives you the best chance to have the Super Bowl be between the 2 best teams. Also eliminates an 8-8 team making it while 10-6 team misses due to conference. Also solves the Brady problem, just need one of the top 12 records, period. On a side note, get rid of meaningless ProBowl and just name an All Star Team.
