  1. Theyre just having fun, don't hold a grudge...
  2. that's not exactly a glowing endorsement...
  3. Don't forget also need decent team and coaching. Saints have talent outside Brees, but not cohesive. Chargers have similar problems, plus have changed coaches. The colts... Have Luck and little else since Arians left. Don't even get me started on the Lions...
  4. You do need more than just a quarterback, but you do need the quarterback. With one, along with good coaching and a good team, you're in the hunt pretty much every year. Without one, you need an elite defense to succeed, and its usually not as sustainable. Below average qb and average talent, your on the 5 to 8 win treadmill until you fix the problem.
  5. And, we're pinning our hopes on a kid from the "reduced for quick sale" bin. Not likely, but Bills have nothing to lose for trying.
  6. 5-11. Bad, but not bad enough for top 3 pick.
  7. Yates has done nothing this preseason that you couldn't get from a younger, more promising player. Cut him loose and develop a kid on the Practice Squad.
  8. The best wr in the league is worthless without a quality qb
  9. Bills need a fast, deep threat. Do any if their guys fit the profile?
  10. Would rather bring in someone who gets cut this week that actually fits the system and has some gas in the tank.
  11. but the qb touches everything, so without that you're screwed anyway, regardless of wr talent.
  12. Successful teams build around foundational players. The quarterback, of course is most important and the hardest piece to acquire. The other foundation players are usually offensive linemen , defensive line, or linebackers. The Bills haven't had the most important pillar since Kelly. Great Wide receivers are very entertaining, but only a few take on leadership roles. Plus they only touch the ball a few times a game. Few running backs last long enough to fill this role either. So I can see why a new coach would do what he feels is necessary to get a franchise qb and some core players that he can count on. All the other players come and go anyway.
  13. The trick as a coach is to survive until you can build your team, primarily through the draft. Roster turnover happens faster in the NFL now, but still takes more than 2 or 3 seasons. No Bills coach since Marv has lasted long enough to build an entire team of their guys. Its also hard for a coach to last beyond season 3 without a quality quarterback.
  14. Someone's gotta play vs Lions.
  15. Too rich for Beane's blood. Doesn't fit the process.
  16. Trade possibilities: Tyrod Taylor to Broncos for mid round draft pick. Shady McCoy to whoever loses a feature back early for a 2nd round draft pick. Charles Clay for 3rd round draft pick. Reggie Ragland to Toronto Argonauts for $20 Tim Hortons gift card.
  17. Sign about 5 of these guys, try them all. First one to actually lead a touchdown drive gets Yates' job.
  18. I disagree. Jokes are fun. This is more like a train wreck, horrible to watch, difficult to turn away..
  19. Not everyday ya get to work in an Englebert Humperdink reference...
  20. 5 -11. New coach, new system, plus the yard sale may not be over.
  21. Tough to argue with Rice, he was the total package. Moss was awesome too, the most physically gifted I've seen, but Megatron is right on his heels. Sterling Sharpe also awesome, made Farce and his gunslinger style work because he could catch about anything. As Bills go, Andre Reed for sure. So many great catches during the golden years of this franchise.
