Bills need: 1: New Coaches -forward thinking please... 2: QB- Some throw over 300 yds a game nowadays... 3: O-line- Winning teams control the line of scrimmage... 4: Safety- I miss Aaron Williams.. 5: High draft picks that are healthy and ready to play. 6: Marquee players who don't get suspended then injured because they're out of shape. 7: Tom Brady to retire already.. 8: To not overpay for unmotivated free agents. 9: Prepare for the inevitable declines of Kyle Williams and Shady McCoy

Taylor did show some flashes last year, but needed to take the next step this year. That did not happen. As opposing teams figure a qb out, he has to evolve and improve his game to compensate. That did not happen. Receivers come and go with injuries, and the qb has to find ways to succeed with the receivers he has. That did not happen. A lot of qbs don't see the whole field at first, but get better at it with experience. That has not happened. Not expecting improvement at this point. Time to look elsewhere..

Today proves that this team as it's currently constructed just isn't good enough to get the job done against real teams. This team gets pushed around by anyone with quality offensive and defensive lines. Tyrod Taylor just isn't going to get it, it's over, move on. Rex and his 1980's philosophy is just too outdated to be consistently effective. Sammy Watkins, regardless of talent, hasn't been available enough to be an effective weapon. None of our CB's are good enough to be left on an island, so the strategy is doomed to fail. Charles Clay is underutilized for what the Bills paid. Aaron Williams was apparently far more important than anyone wanted to admit. The running backs are the only bright spot on this team, but once everyone else figured that out, they just put everyone in the box and force Tyrod to be a qb, and now we all know how that played out.I wanted to be positive this year, but the wheels have fallen off. This team needs a real QB first and foremost. I have seen enough of Tyrod and EJ but have no logical reason to believe Jones is any good. He couldn't even hold the QB job at Ohio State. Don't really want Romo, he's old and brittle, or Cutler, he's shot. Just draft the best qb you can find, and let him and Jones duke it out. I am out of ideas, just know if you pick the right guy you're set for about ten years, if you don't, you're screwed and the treadmill rolls on...

The Bills should acquire Cutler.

Or twice in the first quarter.... -
Does he still play for Buffalo? I thought his contract was like the Mets paying Bobby Bonilla for years. Can they at least claim him as a tax deduction?

No way Romo lasts 16 games. Wouldn't be surprised if he just hung them up. If we are going to shop for a new qb, how about one born after the Berlin Wall came down?

Instead of over thinking or over paying, why not just get qualified players who are actually NFL caliber safeties? -

But wait, won't beating Seattle damage their playoff chances? -
How many penalties on Sherman tonight?
Samwell Tarly replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pats will try to exploit Seattle's defensive weaknesses, and since Brady can work with any of his guys, they'll just play around Sherman anyway. He will probably be a non factor. -

Maybe I'm off base here, but this team has been victimized twice this year by headhunters (Landry and Sherman). Not sure what the answer is, but I would think that if other teams feared retaliation, maybe this crap would stop. The Bills need a new safety now anyway, how about a nasty Ronnie Lott type that other teams would fear or at least respect. Not a huge fan of dirty play but you gotta be able to defend your players. Any ideas?

Doesn't hockey have a centralized review system? Maybe some form of that could help. Since it's getting to the point where there's a commercial break between just about every play maybe it would work.
-
Can't root for New England. But would be funny to see what would happen if Sherman tried to cheap shot Gronk. Hate both teams, but Seattle has less impact on Bills most if the time.

Agreed, but let's see this continued improvement over the rest of the year. We've got to see him string quality performances together, not just randomly. -

The Last Truly Great Team in the NFL
Samwell Tarly replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would agree that you will probably never see the great dynasty teams like you did in the up to the nineties. The salary cap and free agency have seen to that. Conversely, at least now most teams have hope that they can build a team and make a run. For all those old Cowboys, Steelers, and such there were a lot more Buccaneers, Falcons, Colts, and other teams who were abysmal and never had much if a chance for decades at a time. Yes, the available talent is now more spread out, forcing team management to be savvier to stay competitive. The one thing I would say hasn't changed is that your team's chances are still inexorably tied to your qb. Except now you can get out from under a bad one you drafted faster. Just wish the Bills would get ahead of the curve for once, after 16 years I'd say we're overdue.
