The chatter around the Worthy trade isn't rational
Samwell Tarly replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Worthy had a good game. It happens. Can we all just pump the brakes a little bit before we fit him for his Hall of Fame jacket? -
1. Acquire a WR2 who doesn't drop every third ball or disappear for weeks at a time. 2. Upgrade O-line, as many as you can get. Draft five of them if you have to. Hate to say it but Morse should retire before he does more damage to himself. 3. Do not overpay Edmunds, be realistic about his value, if somebody else wants to overspend, that's their problem. 4. Do not spend one more draft pick on the defensive line until WR and O line are addressed.

Just a suggestion to help out the current affairs.
Samwell Tarly replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
When was the last time a RB centric team made the Super Bowl, let alone won it? The last one I remember was Bettis with the Steelers. Hard to keep up with teams that rack up 30 plus points a game when you're grinding it out on the ground. Rbs are complementary pieces now, not worth a massive investment. Case in point Henry with the Titans. They should have kept AJ Brown. -
Please… let’s get Lukas Van Ness !
Samwell Tarly replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Will most likely be long gone by the time the Bills pick. That being said I'm not sure dropping yet another 1st round pick on D-line is a great idea. Some teams believe that improving offensive talent in a league that rewards offense is a good idea . -
Dawkins, Saffold and Knox added to Pro Bowl
Samwell Tarly replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Can we just name AFC and NFC all star teams and call it a day? It's obvious no one actually cares about the game so why bother? The current system renders the designation meaningless. If I was an owner, GM, or coach, and one of my team's premier players tore an ACL playing in this joke of a game I'd be furious. It's not like the college all star games where lesser known talent tries to get noticed. -
Can I at least have some pudding?

The Bengals came in loaded for bear with a great game plan and nearly flawless execution. The Bills picked a bad day to have a bad day. There were some bad mismatches from the start and once they fell behind it was apparent they were in for a long day. Survived some close calls late in the season, Went to the well one too many times and came up empty.

Bad coaching bringing this team down
Samwell Tarly replied to Cal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Blame Frazier if it makes you feel better, but judging by average points allowed, the Bills are actually middle of the pack. Guess half the league needs to fire their DC'S. The league has bent over backwards to help offenses. Investing heavily in defense is an expensive strategy with diminished returns. Some of these teams are going to drop 30+ on you regardless, so fight fire with fire. The best defense now is putting up 35 or more. -
May the Lord bless you...you are truly pilgrims in an unholy land....?

WGR Radio.com App Is Garbage
Samwell Tarly replied to HereComesTheReignAgain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Also you cannot listen to the Bills games on this app, WGR reverts to an ESPN feed during the game. Some license issue I'm sure. Surprised that they don't make them refer to the Bills as the Professional Football team from Orchard Park. -
Robert Foster = total non factor
Samwell Tarly replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he can't crack this roster as a WR3, it's probably never going to happen. We don't know what happens at practice or the personal stuff with these guys. He'll either figure it out over the summer or will be replaced by someone who can. -
Easy schedule or not, they are winning the games. Previous regimes around here have had opportunities, yet time after time found ways to lose meaningful games. The 2019 Bills just walked into Pittsburgh in a primetime game with a playoff berth on the line. They came out with the W when it mattered most. That means something.

Vic Fangio wants to see NFL drop divisions format
Samwell Tarly replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You could leave the schedules and divisions intact. Then seed the playoffs based on record and if you win a crappy division but don't qualify for the playoffs, oh well, season over. A second idea could be to abandon conferences, play half of the league each year, and simply seed the top 12 teams. This should increase the likelihood if 12 most deserving teams making it and creates the best odds for a highly competitive Super Bowl. -
To heck with the Pittsburgh Steelers
Samwell Tarly replied to appoo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would love to see that franchise experience 20 years of qb carousel and playoff drought. Let's see how many fans they really have after that. -
Brady says he does not like the Cowboys!
Samwell Tarly replied to Houston's #1 Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't read too much into agreeing with Brady on this...even a broken clock is right twice a day. -
What about the Chargers? 1. Rivers is about ready to retire. 2. He could use the rest of the season to get reacclimated, hit the ground running for next year. 3. LA would be a pretty favorable landing spot for him, compared to other sites. 4. There's some workable talent on the team already. 5. If he can't outcompete Tyrod Taylor it's all a moot point anyway.

Or maybe, just maybe, these guys aren't that good right now. The o line has lots of room for improvement. Better than last year, but that's not saying much. WR needs upgrading, I like Brown and Beasley, but the rest are basically irrelevant. TE is still a liability, 2 rookies, a no show and a penalty machine. RB is oddly utilized, not sure of the strategy here.. QB Allen has mitigated the Ints, but still fumbles way to much. Also throwing behind and over guys a lot. Let's see where they are at the end of the season ,would be nice to get over 300 yards once or twice, but not counting on it.

Good Teams Start with Competent Coaching
Samwell Tarly replied to Kevinpop's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, for those advocating moving on from McDermott, who do you want as a replacement? Who do you believe is the next great coach? Not saying it's necessarily a terrible idea, but if you're going to fire everyone, again, you better have a viable option, not just "someone else". Been there, done that. -
Division hopes. What do we root for?

Beat the browns, no major injuries.
