Yes they are UFAs essentially. No one can “poach” them the player has to agree to the contract.

Agree still getting used to this getting good players to sign on the PS thing. I do like having a great treat to play around with the roster like this but always does take the player to agree as well. I am guessing will be on the 53 soon enough. Still getting used to being great and having a competent front office to sell these roster games

Yeah I am sure it is going to let him get up to speed without taking a roster spot. I guess I got to get used to we get some of these breaks with players being a great team.

On a side note. I wish the league would offer recoup of the draft pick if a Rookie is cut and claimed. It makes it so hard to keep and develop later talent when you have a good roster build out. They can easily do this before the compensatory picks are handed out.

I did not know this and seeing this is a PS thread I would put it here in case there is others that didnt know this change occurred. For some reason I thought I saw PS protections last year still.

OK and he would be on another teams 53. So again he may have had multiple offers for other teams PS, not their 53. That is the reality. And that is the reason he was sitting around un-signed in August.

Austin is likely the only one on that list they would have liked to get through to the PS

Betting on himself would be taking an offer that puts him on the 53, and get the guaranteed Base come the start of the season. The reality is just that the other offers were likely other PS offers, he did not turn a 53 man roster offer down after sitting as a unsigned street FA until August

Other offers to me means other offers for PS. Other offers for the 53 NO player would pass that up for PS.

There is tradable depth there for a player for player as well. That is the most likely approach and likely safest. But though two looked the part in their time against the Colts anyway. I would like to see them continue to improve on that performance

Based on watching the First Game. I am fine with Gouraige and Van Demark battling for that Swing tackle. Both seemed to hold up rather well in their time.

This was important. You saw how the defense fell off when Vonn went down. Need another Viable option for early in the season until Vonn all the way back. 9 sack guy each of last three seasons. To get that production late in UFA is really good. happy with this signing even if it is on the DL yet again. This does solve a sneaky little need with really only 2 productive DEs in Miller and Groot

If the structure is such that low cap this year this is one move I thought they would have to do to get DHop space. his cap hit was always the one I came to in order to find space.
