Looking forward to the George Bush Bookmobile
Terry Tate replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Ok, so the Democrats ran everything for a couple generations - and now they're the minority party in every way. But they didn't lose, so don't change anything - just keep calling everyone on the other side stooopid - that'll win 'em over. -

Grow a pair? I need a wheelbarrow to carry around the ones I got now! Why should (Democrats) care what I think? Because they want my vote. Calling (Republican) voters every name in the book is not a particularly useful way of winning them over. Getting drunk in a parking lot is one of the better ideas I've heard today. -

Who am I, like name and address?? Not a chance. I just think when you get beat at something, then rant about how stupid your opponent is, then get beat again, and continue to rant about how stupid your opponent is, it doesn't reflect on you very well. Anyway, my last couple posts were getting personal. I apologize. (Wouldn't want anyone challenging me to a spearing contest in the parking lot or anything.) -
I'm thinking of the overall cost savings in that it would be near impossible to get pork-barrell spending items approved.

Wouldn't change the fact that they'd be making asses of themselves. -
In 1790, there were 3,929,214 people counted in the census. There were 65 reps to congress, or about 1 rep for every 60,449 people. The last census counted 281,421,906 people, for which 435 reps would be about 1 rep for every 646,946 people. I think we should increase the size of Congress to the same representative levels, or about 4,655 representatives. You'd have a much better chance of actually knowing your rep personally. All the reps would have much less power and influence. Building a consensus to get a bill passed into law would be incredibly difficult without overwhelming support.

The Bills had their asses handed to them the last two times they played the Patriots. If the Bills players then began to talk about how stupid the Patriots are, I suppose I'd end up with the same opinion of the Bills players as I have of some of the posters here. -
Yes, you can say "Merry Christmas" - c'mon, you know what he means. You can't have an office "Christmas" party, lest someone be offended. Your kids can't have a "Christmas" program at school to sing "Christmas" carols - the "holiday" program may even exclude the more religious songs for "Frosty the Snowman" - type holiday fare, lest someone be offended. etc, etc. Christmas and all it entails is present in most ways it always has been, but we're not allowed to LABEL it what it really is, or an offended employee will sue the company, an offended parent will sue the school, an offended customer will sue the post office, etc. Christians don't fear the wrath of Pharoah anymore, they fear the wrath of lawyers. I'm not sure where the tangent of Kwanzaa came from. Didn't see anyone here ridicule it. It's not a religious celebration, anyway. So to bring it up in a discussion of Christmas and Hannukah is kind of odd.

Maybe some of the younger guys posting their support of ABC will look back on this years from now when they have kids of their own, and find a little empathy for parents who are posting here in protest, who feel they are under constant assault. And yes, that means the ads for erectile disfunction too. And don't leave out the marketing done towards kids - little kids - all manner of processed foods, toys, clothes, etc. It's hard work - rewarding, but hard work raising children. It'd be nice to be able to turn on a football game at the end of the day, and not have your eight-year old see a woman get naked and come on to one of the players. Yes, I know they only show her back - were you confused as to whether she had any other clothes on? Neither are kids. I just want to watch a freaking football game here!

See this? *This* is my *boom stick*! The 12-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about $109.95. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. *You got that*?

Bingo. Who was the last Democrat to be elected president? It's not that tough to figure out a winning position on this issue.

The pro-choice party should recognize that many pro-choice voters are actually against abortion - they just don't think it should be illegal. Convince them the party is the place for them by continuing to support Roe V Wade, but also supporting efforts such as parental notification in the case of minors, banning late-term abortions, etc. Demonstrate that their other efforts (support for specific social programs) would actually reduce the demand for abortions. Make a point of not being the party of abortion at any time, for any reason. Just a thought.

You've demonstrated your intelligence often on this board. Unless proven otherwise, I refuse to believe this post was made in good faith. Republicans are nazis, how facist is too facist for you? - please.

so far... Buffalo News Sports Desk - canned response, maybe it gets read/maybe not. WGRZ - Ed Kilgore - wrote back to say "Wouldn't it be great to see Ralph get in there SOON...he deserves it for sure.. Ed"

I just emailed the following media outlets/people about this, thanking them for any help in getting the word out. I don't live up there, so I'll have no idea if anyone brings it up (or even reads their email), but it can't hurt. Hey, that's an even better idea, put it on the front page!

Best post of the thread. Tell you what, though - if I'm in combat, and I know the enemy has been faking dead, or "surrendering", then attacking, there's a very high probability I'm shooting everything in sight and breaking any nearby freaking cameras. Unless I felt there was no chance they get the drop on me. I wouldn't feel good about it, but I'm being honest - I'd do it.

Wait a minute, that sounds familiar - where were you Sunday night between the hours of 8:30-11:30 pm est, and is there anyone who can verify it?
-
Why stop there? How about Todd Collins? Billy Joe? How about you? Yeah, YOU! What do you say everyone, who would you rather have starting at quarterback, Drew Bledsoe or BF_in_Indiana?

And look how poorly they've done since he left. More proof we need Dan for GM! -

Hey, you just keep getting bumped until someone gets around to pinning you.
