I don't think they could have new uniforms, because a team must wait five years to make a change to its uniform after altering it in any way. But a team could have a third, alternate uniform as their primary without a waiting period. The Falcons designated their red (third, alternate jersey) as their official home uniform. But that ATL jersey already existed from the previous year, so I don't know if you can introduce a new one like that. -
The Lost Art of the Player-for-Player Trade

Here's a good article from CNNSI Don Banks last March that discusses all the variables involved. You're correct in asking if it's a lot to do with the salary cap. -

Really good QB's in the SB, of course. But to say they're traditionally found in the 1st round is not simply not true, no matter how many times it's repeated here. There have been 38 SB's. While 20 of the winners were quarterbacked by first round picks, 18 were not. A list of QB's who were not 1st round draft picks who have played in SB's, and when they were selected: Bart Starr, 17th round, 200th pick Daryle Lamonica, 24th round, 188th pick Johnny Unitas, 9th round, 102nd pick Joe Kapp, 18th round, 209th pick Roger Staubach, 10th round, 129th pick (likely 1st rounder, but USN obligation) Fran Tarkenton, 3rd round, 29th pick Kenny Stabler, 2nd round, 52nd pick Vince Ferragamo, 4th round, 91st pick Ron Jaworski, 2nd round, 37th pick Joe Montana, 3rd round, 82nd pick Ken Anderson, 3rd round, 67th pick Joe Theismann, 4th round, 99th pick David Woodley, 8th round, 214th pick Steve Grogan, 5th round, 116th pick Boomer Esiason, 2nd round, 38th pick Jeff Hostetler, 3rd round, 59th pick Mark Rypien, 6th round, 146 pick Frank Reich, 3rd round, 57th pick Steve Young, undrafted (from USFL) Stan Humphreys, 6th round, 159th pick Neil O'Donnell, 3rd round, 70th pick Brett Favre, 2nd round, 33rd pick Chris Chandler, 3rd round, 76th pick Kurt Warner, undrafted (from arena football) Tom Brady, 6th round, 199th pick Brad Johnson, 9th round, 227th pick Rich Gannon, 4th round, 98th pick Jake Delhomme, undrafted (from NFLE) Maybe you're thinking back to the good old days when GM's made good 1st round draft picks, like 1983 when Todd Blackledge, Tony Eason, and Ken O'Brien were selected before Dan Marino. Sheesh. -

Gonna have to get a second blender now, so you can blend up the meat off the chicken wings for the baby bottle. Keeps the margaritas from tasting like hot sauce. Congrats! -

But if Detroit dumps him, he'll never win a SB with another team, because once even a 1st round a QB leaves the team that drafted him, he can't win a SB. Isn't that your argument? -

SB starting QB's are not always top draft picks. -
If there really was a purple cat in your pocket at one time, and all available intelligence could be interpreted as meaning the cat was possibly still there, and you told me there was 'no doubt' the cat was still there, and getting ready to have kittens - I might fault you for drawing a wrong conclusion, and I might even question your motives for wanting me to believe a cat is there, but I wouldn't call you a liar unless I had proof that you knew the cat wasn't there when you stated it was. Not to make excuses for anyone. Just saying, you're putting the cart before the purple cat.

For someone who supports the war in Iraq, you sure are doing a lot of bitching, or - as someone likes to say - 'to be charitable', nit-picking about it. If you're handing in a verdict that Cheney, Bush, Powell and everyone else in the administration are liars, prove it. Your examples (Clinton, Nixon) were proven liars. Lacking any proof, your post may be a little premature.

Pretty good. Looks as good as any other NFL uniform I've seen. What I would really like to see is white helmets with a redesigned buffalo. Maybe not the old standing buffalo, but closer to that type than the current one. That is, a more realistic looking buffalo than a cartoonish, pop-art type of design.

What an example. No books, tapes, CDs, DVDs, cards, programs, pills, drinks, exercise machines. No government study required. Eat less. Exercise more. It's amazing how far self-discipline can propel you.

Holy crap you guys, you're calling a 16 year old a child, like he's still unable to wash his own behind. Are we raising the biggest nation of infants in history or what? It's a tragic story, but 16 years old is not a child. You should be able to live and work on your own by then. I'm not saying as a necessity - I realize times have changed, and most in this country don't have to - but have the ability (maturity) to do so. Guns are always loaded. They are only to be handled when they are to be used or cleaned. They are only used to shoot things. They are only pointed at things you intend to shoot. When people or animals get shot, they often get dead. Hell, my kids know that and they're 8 and 5. With few exceptions, if a kid is too immature or irresponsible to be around loaded firearms at least by the time they finish elementary school, you're not doing them any favors. 16. JHC. -

Alaska is the northern-most, western-most and eastern-most state in the USA. Islands on the Aleutian Chain are on the other side of the 180th meridian, putting them in the Eastern Hemisphere. -

After over twenty years of a combination of military messes and living off the Korean/Japanese/Okinawan/Philipino economies, I'm pretty sure there is nothing humans consume on a regular basis that I can't eat. Once, anyway. Maybe I should be the dietician for the show. -
I'm not sure it ever was in the NFL, but it's not now. Maybe it is/was in the CFL, where Flutie got the idea that in a less-than-3 pt deficit with no time left, instead of a hail-mary pass, a team could pass forward enough to a receiver to have him attempt a drop kick for 3, or lateral back to someone like Flutie away from defenders to have him try it. Now that would be a play to watch.

Sure does, pretty good at it also. He's one of those players who knows ST rules like few do. The drop-kick is still legal for kick-offs, PATs and FG attempts, and free-kicks (after a safety or a fair catch). It's not used anymore because the ball is less round-shaped than it used to be, and there's a lot more players on the roster (hence more specialists) than there was back in the 40's and 50's, when drop-kicks were common.

Bingo. Top education barriers: 1. Parental failure in adequately physically and mentally preparing students. 1. Lack of parental involvement in schoolwork at home. 2. Lack of parental involvement emphasizing student's weak areas. 3. Lack of parental involvement in school activities (during and after-). Parents please notice the trend there.
