Dominant CB or DE...which would you rather have?
Terry Tate replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm already on the DE over CB side of this, and I think the argument could be made the 3-5 receiver sets require more emphasis on secondary depth and LB's with coverage ability than a star CB. I also think the rules changes/enforcement makes it even harder on the CB's, making a star DE a more effective use of your money than spending it on a star CB. -
Congrats, and heed the advice about a home inspection. Should cost between $200-300, and agents always know a guy they use all the time who has their trust and respect. The bonus is they will list all the relatively minor things as well, and that provides you with your "to do" list for your own work. Your entire contract will be "subject to" the inspection, so you have the opportunity to adjust your offer price based upon it, or back out completely if it's really bad news. Go ahead and get excited, it's a major life experience and there's a lot to enjoy about it. It's a good thing though - so still get your sleep. Don't worry so much about "losing" a house in a hot market; houses not only can sell extremely fast, there are always new ones coming on the market. If you don't get a contract done for whatever reason on the perfect house, another perfect house is going to appear in short order.

Well, uh, at least I understand what you meant now. I'm not familiar with that particular use of the term bigot. And if I preach to anyone about religion, I'm pretty sure there would be a bolt of lightning heading my way in short order.
-
No, I really didn't understand that. When I ridicule I usually have a knack for really ticking people off, so it would have been obvious. I just didn't get what you meant there, about the bigotry and major religions thing. Maybe you were looking for another word?

Treaties are supposed to be the job of Congress. Of course, they've been working terribly hard to absolve themselves of their responsibilities, like declare war, so who knows. The main theme of his outrage (OUTRAGE!) is basing decisions on international law vice our constitution - which I would be against as well. Exactly why it would be an outrage (OUTRAGE!) to research what other nations do, and it's effects, is completely beyond me. "he does his own research on the Internet? That is just incredibly outrageous." LOL, Tom Delay thinks I'm incredibly outrageous too!

I've got too much up in the air to schedule anything right now (job, school, house all changing), but I'd definitely be interested in anything that comes together. Maybe the Orlando Bills Backers have some ideas for Tampa/Miami.

Briefs, Boxers, Commando, Jockey's, Thongs
Terry Tate replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First tighty whities, then jockeys, with boxers over top of those. You can never be too careful. -
Had I not just looked it up, I would not have believed such a thing existed. You learn something new every day...

Very good summary. Reporters aren't robots; everyone has a point of view. Getting news from one source will not serve you as well as multiple sources.

, great answer.

You left out the answers for the aspiring actors/actresses. Or was that the "No?"

Bush committed to cutting deficit
Terry Tate replied to John Adams's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I believe governors make better candidates for that reason (as a general rule). The nature of the type of work in a state-level executive position gives the candidate an absolutely huge advantage over a senator or congressman. Governors lead; legislators sometimes lead, sometimes follow, they do all their work as part of a comittee - they don't have a demonstrable record of running the whole show. Not to say they couldn't, it just isn't on their resumes. You end up getting an explanation about a law, rebutted by someone who tells you what he thinks should be done - which takes me back to people don't vote for a position or a policy, they vote for a person they think can lead. A legislator has to break out of the mold of his career to do this, a governor is already there. For that reason, I think Bill Richardson is the only realistic choice in your short list. Look at governors for the best candidates. Senators, congressmen, and to a lesser extent, generals, are all starting out from behind. -
I'm unemployed, which really allows way too much time for screwing off here. I quit my job in California supporting a USAF computer network (UNIX) and moved my family to Florida. Haven't found any work, so I'm taking A+, Network+, Security+ on the way to MCSE. Figure I'll start back at the help desk and work my way up. Until then, this is home.

Bush committed to cutting deficit
Terry Tate replied to John Adams's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That is a perfect example of what I mean when I say people don't vote for plans or policies, they vote for people. Governors and Senators are two completely different political animals. If they had taken different career paths, I believe a Governor Kerry could've defeated a Senator Bush. -
To be fair, I wonder if he did the right thing after years of doing the wrong thing. Not always the case, but it's really, really common. Maxing out your available credit is risky business. It shouldn't be an acceptable practice as a routine, but most people have bought into the "Madison Avenue" marketing that tells you it is. Of course credit is a racket. They're in it to make money. Why wait? You can have whatever you want now, and no payments until (sometime in the future)! In just ten easy payments, you can get instant gratification, instead of settling for something less, or waiting to buy until you have cash. Often times people who get into credit problems have dug their own hole. If you are making one or more car payments, and carrying a large credit card balance, stop digging! There's nothing wrong with driving a old car that's paid for. It'll get you there. There's no shame in buying a smaller TV for cash vice a huge entertainment system on credit - you'll still get all the same shows. You don't have to buy a complete room furniture set on payments, you can buy a whatever pieces you can afford as you have the cash. Do you really need a camera cell phone with a two-year contract, or would an emergency phone with set minutes get the job done? Or do you really need a cell phone at all? People who make these decisions based upon future earnings live well, and precariously.

I'd still put Gore in the lower first round/high second round. Kerry would be a second-day pick, and Mondale and Dukakis would be undrafted free agents. -
Pretty sad news. It was pretty cool seeing a boxer wearing a Sabres jersey. But his health has to come first. He's a good kid; he'll land on his feet.

MNF on ESPN - this could get ugly. Will they combine the "JACKED UP!", "BOO-YAH!" nonsense with more exploding graphics and Hank Williams Jr? Or more film breakdown and analysis by Jaws and his crews leading to a better understanding of the game? Could go either way. Maybe both. Meanwhile, it'll be interesting to see what NBC does on Sunday nights. Will the program be about football, or will it be more exploding graphics, what suit and jewelry the former loudmouth player commentator is wearing today, and how loud and obnoxious the opening music and video are?

KFC in Texas Greets PETA With Sprinklers

No matter what you believe, that's pretty good advice. -

LOL, What KFC does to animals? KFC doesn't raise their own chickens, and there are no McDonald's cattle ranches. They're just good at marketing a product you don't want people to buy. -
My propane sales and spending rules are lifted from a "King of the Hill" episode where they go to one of those fairs. Dale goes dressed in a Star Trek uniform.
-
Dang it, another one? Ok, if guys must go, I’m putting LABillsFan charge of the spending money. Spend it any way you want with three rules: No tights, tassels, or skirts on the Chef. Oh, and no bells.

Better bring your own punctuation; seems to be a shortage there.

The topic of outsourcing tech support to India came up in a class I'm taking, and one individual made it clear he was frustrated when speaking with a tech support person on the phone from India who doesn't speak English well enough to make himself understood. He was complaining about this in his very heavy Jamaican accent. LMAO, a classic moment - only in America. I love this country.
