  1. As I said above, I do believe that he is our present, but, his limitations, to me, outweigh his positives. I understand that you want desperately for this to not be true, but, he is a limited QB, in my opinion. Let him be a place holder until a better option is acquired, but, please do not expect too much from him. Think back to the first couple EJ years what were you saying about him at the time?
  2. For me, he's not the future, but, with a restructure, he's our present. The problem is that the OP and the people he's quoting are saying that Taylor is the better QB. Thurman's point is entirely valid given the context.
  3. They certainly should. Extra picks in rounds 3-5 on top of what they already have can rebuild a team fast. How does that happen?
  4. Then our GM better figure out how to draft a QB because without one this cycle of mediocrity is going to go on and on and on.
  5. Find a QB. Nothing else matters.
  6. Can you name me one NFL team that does not have a number of very good players?
  7. So, you went to the Buddy Nix/Doug Whaley School of QB Drafting?
  8. Your mother was right. I lost your address, can you send it my way again?
  9. The only way to go. Outliers? Sure, but, draft your QB. My guess is overcompensation for some shortcoming.
  10. This, I think, is something that someone in the organization floated out there to try to put some pressure on Taylor. Like you, I'm ready to move on.
  11. You misunderstand me. Because (apparently) Jones needs at least a couple more years to (potentially) develop the team must (if they keep Taylor) find a "viable" backup. If Taylor were cut loose then they would have to find 2 higher paid options than Jones. Him, being stuck as the #3, is costing the team money.
  12. Yup, last 2 drives were poorly called/run. 3rd and 1 and there's a sack/fumble...should have run the ball there and then the final drive in regulation was mind boggling.
  13. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Please reach out to me if you need anything.
  14. What's the hurry, they have, what, another 3 weeks? This organization behaves oddly...if they have any thoughts/hopes to have the contract renegotiated then they better get after it.
  15. Seems like an extremely low reward type situation. Sign a guy to a 4 year deal and hope you see something in year 3. Meanwhile you can't count on him so money must be spent on a #2. Then in year 3/4 you hope to get a glimpse of his abilities without really having seen him perform in anything other than preseason games. Based on that small sample size a team must decide whether to offer an extension after year 3 or roll the dice and let him enter the final year of his contract and FA. If your assertion is correct cut him now and move on.
  16. On what are you basing this? Personal observations? Coach speak?
  17. How is this possible? You have never had an original thought.
  18. Good read, thank you. Does your draft grade take into account that QBs will in many cases go earlier than expected based on the importance of the position?
