  1. Not true, at least down here in Texas. Injuries are common at the lower levels.
  2. As another poster mentioned, I will not be letting my boy play football. I know too many friends in which they let their son play and after a few concussions, said enough. The problem I have is that my boy (only 7) still views playing football as having fun. But, the other kids out there think they're going to be the next Heisman trophy winner and don't play to have fun. Too intense. This is Texas and it's huge. But, he plays baseball and lacrosse and loves both. Not much hockey down here, but he'd love that too.
  3. I understand the sentiment that a show like this tends to bring our current drought more into focus, but I'm very interested in watching this episode. I truly feel that "A Football Life" series is one of the best on TV. I've learned a lot about players' hardships, life lessons, etc. from watching. They're very entertaining and enjoyable to watch. Watching how much Jerry Rice prepared. Getting Bo Jackson's perspective on football. Watching Chuck Knoll tell Jerry Glanville off! Listening to Deacon Jones telling how much he wanted to kill the quarterback - and I believed him!! Great series and it's now showcasing the best Bills player of all time!! I'm glad to relive the past glory days. I hope that 2017 marks the return to the playoffs and respectability, but I still love the Superbowl era teams.
  4. I think people get too uptight about stuff like this. Look, as many have pointed out, if Coach McD gets this team to the playoffs, do you really care that you missed part of a practice? I know I'd go watch grass grow knowing that January football was a reality. And next year and the year after. It's called preparation and also keeping certain aspect away from the media. As much as we all love Astro's notes, perhaps there were some things he noted (but not regular sportswriters!!) that Coach McD said, we need to be more prudent in practice. I have no problem at all with that approach. I can't believe people are bitching about the team being TOO secretive!
  5. It sounds like Peterman is having a really good camp and is likely edging Yates out for #2. Do you have the same assessment? I guess we'll find out in a game....
  6. Is Kyle in pads? Haven't heard any mention how the old man is doing.
  7. Wow......just wow..... 4 Days into camp and already somehow RT is a disaster. And bring back AW? Oh Lord.....
  8. As mentioned, I really saw Gragg coming on as a good player. I hated that BS pre-season play by DeAngelo Hall. What a POS!! Glad he's getting a second chance, but sucks it's be with the JESTs. At least it's not New England!! Apparently, they are set at the TE position!!
  9. I'd rather sign T.O. Actually, I wish Megatron would un-retire and come here! But, he probably views Buffalo with the same view as Detroit.
  10. I just hope he REALLY means it! But yeah, just go out there, play good ball and keep your mouth shut and you'll be in Buffalo forever. Be more like Andre Reed than T.O.
  11. Yes and throw it to himself. Two players equals two salaries!! Duh!!
  12. Hell to the Yeah!! You know it's football season!!! Ranks Rastro!!!!
  13. This.... No doubt in my mind unless he has a terrible camp or gets arrested for something stupid. But, I really like Dawkins in that spot.
  14. But, if he truly felt like he could still produce and wanted to play, then force a trade. Everything is negotiable.
  15. Which is great for the Redskins, not so much for us. If he's great (which he might well be), you can take the trophy (participation of course!)
  16. What system? You mean the one the we ran with the old coaching staff(s)? Don't assume that McCoach and company are going to be a run first offense that relies on the running game exclusively. Everything from the past is the past. It's a new team essentially.
  17. Thanks, we appreciate it... Now go get your shinebox!
  18. I will say that I was very optimistic when Rex came in. My thinking was that with the talent we had on the defensive side of the ball, Rex could improve what we had and we would be very hard to score on. Obviously, I was wrong. That being said, I am very optimistic about McCoach and this team. I am really liking the approach to the draft, free agency and an overall seriousness about winning. I won't predict # of wins, as no one really can. But, if we stay healthy and everybody works their asses off, we can definitely challenge the Patriots for the East crown. You gotta believe. This can be our year that the tide shifts back. I think back to 1988. That was the pivotal year that got us on our way. All the pieces were there. I think we're in the same position now.
