  1. The Bills should cut Wood and sign Groy. There was no drop off in play on the OL after Wood got hurt and Groy can be had at a fraction of the cost it will take to keep Wood.
  2. The Bills can't pick a RB in the 1st round. We've invested too much money there. We're picking a WR or a DB. We can't expect to compete in regular season games with our current personnel at those positions.
  3. Hopefully it involves drafting 3-4 really good players. Anything short of that and we'll continue to miss the playoffs. CB is the deepest position in the entire draft. We can afford to wait until round 2 to draft one. We desperately need a WR. If Sammy gets hurt again, we've got no one to throw to.
  4. I'd say it's more likely than not that none of them are available when we pick 10th.
  5. If Sammy Watkins gets hurt (again), who are we throwing the ball to?
  6. No thanks. We don't need a second tight end when we already fail to utilize the first one.
  7. The Bills desperately need help at WR. They also need a lot more talent at CB, S, LB and RT. With Sammy nearing the end of his deal, the Bills would be wise to lock up a WR in the 1st round and then use the remainder of the draft to address the defense. Corey Davis or Mike Williams seem like logical selections given our complete lack of talent at WR. CB is arguably the deepest position in the whole draft. We can get a really good on in the 2nd round.
  8. I think the 3-cone drill is arguably the most important movement drill for linebackers. In the NFL linebackers need to be agile, and you have to be able to change direction quickly. Sub 7 second three cone drills are indicative for guys who can be 3-down players in the NFL. Guys posting mid 7 second 3-cone drill times are changing direction as well as some defensive tackles. If you're running a 3-cone in the mid 7 second range, you're probably coming off the field in passing situations.
  9. The Bills need to get faster and more athletic at LB. Hightower is the same type of guy as Ragland and Brown. Big, plodding run stoppers who struggle in space. The Bills need a true WLB. Right now, I would expect Ragland to play MLB and Preston Brown to play SLB. Right now, we need to someone who excels in coverage. We need to draft someone. None of the guys in free agency fit what we need.
  10. Kuechly - 242 lbs, 4.58 forty, 6.92 three cone, 4.12 short shuttle, 38 inch vertical Hightower - 265 lbs, 4.68 forty, 7.55 three cone, 4.64 short shuttle, 32 inch vertical They're nothing alike.
  11. Fair enough. I think there are a lot of reasons to not want Watson. Arm strength isn't one of the major ones.
  12. Did you just compare Dont'a Hightower to Luke Kuechly?
  13. I don't buy it. I've watched Deshaun Watson play numerous times and never before have I thought "this guy doesn't have an NFL calibre arm." He can zip the ball all over the field with ease.
  14. I agree with this. He can easily make every NFL throw.
  15. Whaley has done a good job in free agency. The problem is that his management of the draft and the use of our draft picks has been horrible.
  16. At this point I can't see them picking anything other than a Wide Receiver or a Defensive Back. We need a crazy amount of help at WR, CB and both Safety spots.
  17. This is what you have to do when your GM has spent 3 years mismanaging the cap and throwing away draft picks like they don't matter.
  18. The Bills are where they are because of years of horribly mismanaging the draft for the last 6+ years. 3 guys left out of 35 picks from 2010 to 2013 is all the proof you need to explain why this team hasn't been able to sniff the playoffs; we don't draft well enough, and when we do, we don't lock up enough of our good young players. People like to divert attention away from our incompetent drafting and focus on the guys Whaley has brought in through Free Agency, but they don't seem to realize that the horrendous contracts we've given to Clay, Hughes, McCoy and Dareus are the biggest reason why we're unable to retain players like Woods and Gilmore. You cannot survive in the NFL relying on free agency to make up for terrible drafting, yet that's what we've done for years and the result is an unbelievably top heavy roster with no depth and minimal good young talent coming through the ranks. The 2010 draft was a train wreck. 2013 wasn't far behind. 2014 looks worse and worse each year. 2015 also doesn't look very good. You can't consistently fail to improve your team through the draft and expect the results on the field to get any better. With the way the cap is set up and how affordable rookie contracts are, you've got to hit on those draft picks and we don't do it well enough.
  19. The problem with this is that the guys we bring in to replace Gilmore and Woods are going to be worse than Gilmore and Woods. Not paying guys is cool, but it's not like it automatically makes your team better. The Bills depth chart at WR is laughable. Watkins, Listenbee and Powell. That's all we've got. Our secondary is a disaster. Darby, Seymour, Graham. That's all we've got in the back end which is mind boggling.
  20. No, but we should be. We have no secondary and no receivers. We're still stuck on fixing the run game and don't seem to understand that it's 2017 and Wide Receivers and Defensive Backs are more important than Running Backs and Full Backs.
  21. Jimmy Clausen was a 2nd round pick. He also led the Panthers to the worst record in the NFL. I really dislike Mahomes. He's an improv artist who has no idea how to run a structured NFL offense. His accuracy is suspect, his footwork is abysmal and he rarely steps up into the pocket and usually just retreats to throw off his back foot which never works in the NFL. Additionally he comes from the Air Raid which does nothing to prepare a QB for the NFL (doesn't call plays, doesn't take snaps under centre, only a few route concepts). There isn't a single example of a team drafting QBs in the 1st round in back to back years in almost 30 years. If you draft a QB, and they suck, you're stuck with them in 2018. I disagree. Our drafting the last 5-6 years has been abysmal. 2010 was a complete train wreck. 2012 produced one player who got a 2nd contract (Glenn). 2013 was a train wreck. 2014 looks worse and worse as time goes by. 2015 looks worse and worse as time goes by. 2016 has contributed nothing so far (Lawson and Ragland have a lot to prove this year). You can't draft as poorly as we do and expect to be successful in the NFL. The result of our horrendous drafting has been our over reliance on Free Agency, which has put the team in a terrible salary cap situation that we can't really get out of for another two years.
  22. An Air Raid QB has never been successful in the NFL. For that reason I have no interest in Mahomes or Webb. Each of these guys is a 2-3 year project at the bare minimum and history says neither guy is going to work out as a Franchise QB. I like Trubisky, but only if you commit to a red shirt season and he never sees the field. His lack of experience worries me a lot. Why couldn't he win the job the year before?
  23. Most rookie QBs are awful. The odds of there being another Dak Prescott are probably less than 5%. When you take away the guys who go #1 overall, for the past 15 years QBs picked 2-32nd overall have busted more than 70% of the time. That's the bet you're making when you pick a QB. I don't see why we'd take a guy when none of them are locks to go top 10. Exactly. We passed on Carr and Bridgewater because we were committed to EJ. You don't draft a guy in the 1st round and send him to the glue factory after one year. That's not how the NFL works. If you draft Trubisky, or Watson, or Kizer or whoever, and they suck this year (which is very likely), you're going to stick with them again next year and risk passing up on what could be signficantly better prospects.
  24. The cap hit isn't going to hurt us. $4 mil/year in dead cap for a couple years does nothing to hurt us. Yes he gets paid, but it's not like it's your money or my money so why should we care.
