Of course it is. They've shown they're not afraid to trade players who don't fit in for picks. Unless Dareus buys in, he'll be moved.
-
He can play this season, but he doesn't need to play week 1. A 5th round rookie like him isn't making it through a 16 game schedule without getting at least a bit shell shocked on this offense with its lack of weapons. Provided Taylor fails, which I'm fairly certain is going to happen, I'd give Peterman the last 4-5 games to see what he has. He doesn't need to play before then, regardless how bad we are.

Dareus sent home for violating a team rule

I agree. I like that they appear to have an actual plan for the first time in 20 years, but they need to make the most of the upcoming draft. It needs to result in a franchise QB and some other building blocks and I'll believe we might be on the path to becoming successful in 2-3 years. -

I'm not. Hughes appears to have benefited from playing with Kyle, Dareus (when he was playing for a contract) and Mario. Since then, Kyle has been banged up, Dareus has lost motivation, and Mario has been jettisoned. Hughes has become the guy our opponents scheme against and his production has also fallen off a cliff. -
Dareus sent home for violating a team rule

In no way shape or form am I telling anyone to trust this regime. They've done nothing to earn our trust. Just pointing out that if the regime doesn't trust Dareus that they'll get rid of him. -

The Bills played plenty of 4 man fronts under Rex. Dareus got paid and his performance fell off a cliff. Hopefully he gets better but I'm not holding my breath. -

The Bills are trying to create a new culture. Having their highest paid player continue to be an example of what not to do isn't helping them get that done. Dareus was an all pro in 2014. Since getting paid he's been mostly anonymous. His ability as a pass rusher has fallen off a cliff and he's not nearly as dominant against the run as he once was. For a guy who has routinely had weight and effort problems, he appears to have gone the way of Albert Haynesworth in terms of not caring since he got his big contract. Assuming Dareus will return to form, when he's been so poor the last two years doesn't seem to be anywhere close to a certainty. Dareus needs to buy in, otherwise he's going to be gone. This team has made it abundantly clear that they're not tied to keeping any specific players unless they fit the team's long term plan. He needs to show he can be a key piece for the next several years, otherwise we'll probably try to trade him. -
Dareus' cap hit is currently $16.1 mil. If we cut him, his cap hit is $21.5 mil. That's an additional $5.4 mil, which we have room to accommodate.

I agree with this. Ralph was a terrible owner, and Pegula hasn't proven to be any better.
-
Throwing Peterman to the wolves seems like a bad idea. I'd rather not risk ruining his development.
-
I watched Falk play Washington and Minnesota last year and I thought he was terrible. I don't want anything to do with this guy.
-
I'm not going to worry about that. Darnold is the #1 player on essentially every big board right now. He's a big, strong, pro style QB who very much looks the part of NFL Franchise QB. Allen is a bit more raw, but I think his upside is enormous. He looks a lot like Big Ben in terms of size, mobility and arm strength. He's a gun slinger who would give real life to our passing game.
-
I couldn't care less about where someone is from. Darnold is an amazing player. Allen's raw talent is incredible. We desperately need a legit blue chip QB to build a team around for the next 5 years.
-
We won't have to give up tons of picks. We're going to be bad enough to get one of them. Worst case we might have to move up from 5 to 2 which shouldn't cost a fortune.

Where do you think or D will rank this year and why
jrober38 replied to PNW_Bills_Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Middle of the road. Our offense is going to be horrendous, which means they'll be on the field too much and they'll face a lot of short fields. I think we'll be average in yards, and slightly below average in points. Overall I think they're not going to be good enough to keep this offense afloat. -
The QBs picked this year don't matter. We're getting our QB next season, when there should be some excellent options available early in the 1st round. The Bills currently look like a bottom 5 NFL team. Would love to see them trade their remaining assets and really go after the #1 overall pick.
-
IMO The top QBs this year are Darnold and Allen. We absolutely need to get one of those guys.

2017: Who will be Tyrod's go-to target?
jrober38 replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who cares. The Bills are going to have a bottom 3 passing attack this year. Our offense is going to be really bad. -
What Other Surprises Await The Bills ??
jrober38 replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trade McCoy and commit to losing 12 or more games this year. And that would be fine. If the Bills are going to be bad (which they are), then be as bad as possible and get that 1st overall pick. -
He doesn't have any special talents. He's a two down run stuffer who has limited range and struggles against the run. We need to trade him ASAP.
-
Agreed. I think we're going to struggle to score 20 points per game. It's going to be a throwback to when we used to have Dick Jauron as HC.
-
The Bills are one of the worst teams in the league right now. We've got major problems at QB, major problems at WR, an OL that doesn't seem to fit the new scheme, linebackers who don't cover well, hardly any experience at CB, and a lack of depth across the field. The only place the Bills are better is at the Safety spots. This is going to be a really bad season for the Bills. I think we're looking at a top 5 pick.
-
I haven't been this disinterested in football my whole life. I think the Bills are going to be horrendous this year, and if these guys don't get the draft picks right next year, this could be the start of a 3-4 year cratering where we become an NFL bottom feeder for a few consecutive years. The Pegulas, who quite frankly have yet to show they have any idea what they're doing, put all their eggs in McDermott's basket and I think the results could be a complete disaster. First time NFL coaches don't often experience great success on their first go around and I'm extremely worried the next 5 years aren't going to be worth watching.
-
We've given way too much power to McDermott. I feel like this could be Josh McDaniels V 2.0.

Hard to see us not get rid of them before the season starts. This team is going nowhere this year. Our offense is going to be really poor this season.
