After last week, unless the defenses forces some turnovers, it's hard to imagine our offense scoring against the Broncos. Their defense is so much better than our offense its scary. We're going to have no one to throw to in the pass game, and Von Miller vs Mills seems like a disaster in the making. They'll take away the run and leave their 3 very talented corners man to man with our very untalented receivers. The result will be tons of pressure in Taylor's face and no where to throw the football. I think the boo birds will be out by halftime and it will be hard for the defense to get up for the 2nd half knowing their offense is so abysmal. The Broncos are one of the best teams in the league and the Bills are one of the worst. This is a really bad match up for us and I expect the score to be very lopsided when the game ends.

As did I. I thought Taylor missed the throw, then I listened to Jones properly explain the route concept, and it was clear Jones made a rookie mistake and Taylor delivered the ball exactly where it needed to be thrown. Taylor had a rough game, but he didn't leave too many plays on the field, which is a testament to how bad the supporting cast is around him. Wilson has regressed badly. As they've put more on his plate over the past few years, his effectiveness has steadily declined. He's clearly not a pocket passer who you can drop back 35 times a game and ask to win a game for you. Like Taylor (and a ton of other NFL QBs), he needs a strong running game to back him up and put less on his plate because he's not the type of QB who can win you games on his own. -

This Sunday is going to be tough to watch. The right side of our line and our receivers vs the Broncos D is going to be very hard to watch. -
WEEK 2 - AT CAR: ALL 22 REVIEW: O LINE/ QB UNFORCED ERRORS

30+ throws and only a handful of examples of what Taylor should have done different if afforded an aerial view of the field. Our receivers are really bad. -
Where are the people who said he'd have a job within a week as a GM if we fired him? LOL

Donald Jones, a former receiver, discussed the play extensively on Monday's radio show. He's never been shy of criticizing Taylor in the past, yet in this situation he laid all the blame on Zay Jones. He said that on that route, if the safety stays on the hash, that the WR is supposed to work vertically up the field to the pylon. The reason is simple. 1. The safety is on his back. If the safety breaks, he can shield the safety from the throw with his body, and adjust to the ball as needed by working back to the sideline. It allows the QB to either throw the ball up the field for a long play if the safety is out of position, or to the sideline so that he receiver can round his route off after the ball is in the air and secure the catch (if the safety breaks on the ball). 2. It's a lot easier to break the route off to the sideline than it is back up the field. Taylor threw the ball exactly where it needed to be, but Jones, a rookie receiver ran a very poor route that he could recover from and secure the catch. This is how Donald Jones explained things, and there was no doubt in his mind the blame should fall on the rookie. -

Where did the ball get thrown? And what is our fullback doing? He looks like he's the defender. LOL -

Jordan Matthews is a slightly better version of David Nelson. He's a big target who has nice hands but he's slow and does nothing to threaten a defense on the outside. They traded him AND a 3rd round pick for Darby because he wasn't even going to make their roster. He was buried on the depth chart and wasn't going to play. Jones has shown exactly nothing. It's no guarantee he's going to become a productive pro. Taylor missed guys the last couple seasons. The problem is that no one is saying that right now. Unlike the last couple years, no one is claiming he was missing open receivers like they were in the past. Our receivers just aren't getting open. Just lock them up in man coverage and focus on taking away the run, and you'll successfully stop this offense. -
The D looks really good. Unfortunately our offense is one of the worst in the league.

I think it's still pretty wide. Taylor takes care of the ball and has proven he can make plays in the passing game from time to time. He can avoid pressure and move the ball with his legs when his protection breaks down. Peterman is a complete unknown. He was an okay college player who had a mediocre preseason. He looked okay in some respects, but this notion that he'd improve our pass game when we have pass protection issues and no one to throw the ball to seems far fetched at best. My guess is that the production would have been identical with turnovers mixed in. He'd have been a sitting duck in the pocket and despite his willingness to get the ball out faster, without any open targets he'd either have been taking sacks or forcing the ball into coverage. The Bills passing game is simply outmatched vs an average NFL defense. We don't have enough talent. -
Who cares. Maybe it could have been the difference between going 5-11 vs 4-12. I'd rather take the loss in a meaningless season and get the better draft pick.

Where are people coming up with this narrative that Nathan Peterman will open up the passing game? Did anyone actually watch him play in preseason? 54.4% completions, 5.7 YPA, QB Rating of 75.... against 2nd and 3rd stringers. -

Nothing about Peterman' preseason suggests he would have done any better yesterday. Odds are he'd have turned the ball over a few times and we'd have been blown out. That's what you get from unprepared rookie QBs. -
We're drafting a QB regardless of how Peterman plays.

No, I get it. The Bills had receivers with speed last year who actually commanded safety attention. This year they don't. The result is relentless 8 and 9 man fronts who are keyed on stopping the run and forcing us to pass, and the results are going to be atrocious. I've said for a while that I don't think the Bills will score 20 points a game this year. After watching the first two weeks, that number might have been high. We might be looking at something closer to 17 or 18 points per game which would likely result in 12 or more losses. Our offensive talent is nowhere close to good enough. Just take away McCoy and make the other 10 guys beat you. -
Peterman isn't playing because he's not at good as Taylor. How is this hard to understand?
-
Our receivers are a bunch of possession guys who can't stretch the field. We're going to constantly face 8 and 9 men in the box because we don't have a single pass catcher who defenses need to worry about getting behind the coverage. Our passing game is awful because every aspect of it is awful. We're limited at QB, have suspect pass protection and nothing at WR.
-
Peterman could develop into a quality QB if brought along the right way. Believe it or not, he actually has value to this team beyond just this season. Throwing him to the wolves so you can see what he has does nothing to help him become a successful NFL player.

I think Cordy Glenn is banged up, Charles Clay looks extremely slow, and our wide receivers are among the worst in the league. The Bills offense is among the worst in the league. We're going to struggle immensely due our lack of talent at the WR position and the fact that we're going to face 8 and 9 man fronts for the duration of the season because we have zero speed or play making ability on the outside.
