  1. I think McDermott has the most power, but I think they're very unified in how they plan on building this team over the coming years.
  2. I don't see enough separation. He looks really slow out there. He's big, but I'm not giving any long term money to a big, slow receiver with major knee problems.
  3. There should be a whole bunch of angry Trump supporters after today's video. They're going to make a deal on DACA, and the wall isn't going to be anything close to what he promised during his campaign.
  4. I didn't watch much college ball this year. Anyone you like in this draft who should go in the first 2-3 rounds?
  5. The Redskins gave up 3 first rounders to move up from #6 to #2 in 2013 (approximately 5,200 points on the draft value chart). The Eagles gave up 2 firsts, a second, a third and a 4th to move from #8 to #2 in 2016 (approximately 3,400 points on the draft value chart). We're not moving from #21 up to #2 without giving up a massive haul of valuable draft picks. At the bare minimum, we'd have to give up both our 1sts this year, our 1st next year, and then either two 2nds and our 2019 1st rounder. That would equate to adequate compensation for the #2 overall pick. Given that we just made the playoffs, my guess is it would take 4 first rounders. Our two first are worth 1,580 points. Our 1st next year should be worth between 750 and 1,100 points. Same for 2019. Assuming an average of 875 points, you're talking about total compensation of about 3,300 points worth of value, which would be the bare minimum we should expect to give up as compensation for the #2 overall pick.
  6. I think EJ Manuel is a better comparison.
  7. Not when you factor in their terrible contracts.
  8. We'd need to give up 4 firsts, or 3 firsts plus 2 seconds.
  9. I don't think either guy has any trade value.
  10. To move up to #2 overall would take four first round picks. No thanks.
  11. It'll be a fun offseason. We're going to get a new QB, and I'm hopeful that the success we had this year will make us more appealing to veteran free agents who can help us fill out the roster. I think the defensive front seven needs a total overhaul, so I'm hoping we can turn that side of the ball into a crutch for our soon to be QB to lean on as they develop their first couple seasons. We have a really good secondary, but need to improve the pass rush and run defense in the middle and I think we need multiple draft picks to do those things.
  12. Now you're starting to make sense. So we'd walk away with Mayfield, a late 2nd round pick and a late 3rd round pick. Mayfield better work out and work out quickly because we have a lot of holes to fill. I'm probably more inclined to see who falls to #21, and then keep the #22, our two seconds and our third, and really give the overall roster an upgrade.
  13. Rosen seems like the safest pick. He's polished, has all the tools and knows how to run a pro system. People don't seem to talk about his upside much, but he seems like a guy who has a good shot of being a top 10 QB for many years. Seems pretty similar to Matt Ryan as a prospect. Darnold has all the tools but obviously makes too many mistakes. He'll probably be pretty good, but I'm not sure you can win big with a guy like that who turns the ball over a lot. I see a lot of Matt Stafford here. Mayfield doesn't really have any comps. He's an intense competitor with a good, accurate arm. I think he's got a lot of upside due to his competitive nature, and his downside is he'll last a long time in the league as a good backup. Not sure who to compare him to, but I think he's a decent prospect who should wind up in the top 10. I think these three guys probably all go in the top 5. I think Rosen and Darnold go 1-2 one way or another, and then Mayfield seems like a good shot to go #4 as the Browns move down and stockpile picks as teams bid to get ahead of the Broncos.
  14. The value doesn't add up on the draft value chart. I'd be pretty confident someone else would offer market value for my pick. The Colts are rebuilding. They need draft picks to fill out their roster. They're not going to do us a favour and take Glenn and his contract off our hands because we want to get rid of it.
  15. No thanks. Give me a third 1st round pick, or two 2nd round picks. Adding a LT who has been very injury prone for the past two years, who is making $14 mil/year isn't something I want to add to my roster.
  16. In what world is Cordy Glenn worth a first round pick? I agree with the sentiment we don't need the top pick, I guess I just don't think either of those guys are on Watson's level. A lot of teams in the top 10 need a QB, and I think the price we'll have to pay to move up that high will be enormous, and I'm not sure I'm willing to take the risk of giving up multiple first rounders for a guy who history says probably won't work out.
  17. I like Mayfield, but I'm not trading 3 first round picks for him.
  18. You're trying to hard. The Browns are going to pick Darnold or Rosen, and then the Giants are going to draft the other guy. Who else are we trading up for?
  19. The Bills desperately need to add two new defensive tackles to the team. I'd have no problem with them drafting DTs at 21 and 22 if there's no QB available.
  20. I'm not spending a 1st round QB on a guy with a college completion percentage in the mid 50s when there is ZERO history of success with players with similar stats. I don't get it. Might as well resign EJ Manuel while we're at it. Physically they're the same guy.
  21. Why would either of those teams trade down, and not take a QB? That's great. Doesn't mean a lot though considering the top 2 QBs will be long gone by then.
  22. I agree that whoever we pick needs time to develop, which is why I think we should make a run at a veteran.
  23. When do guys like Josh Allen ever work out at the NFL level? Is there a single example of a successful QB from the past 20 years who completed 56% of his passes who went on to be a successful NFL QB?
  24. The answer is that it's extremely rare. For each Matt Ryan, there are 20 guys with mechanical issues who never figure things out under live fire.
  25. How often do QBs fix their mechanics in the NFL?
