  1. Exactly. Every year scouts get all fired up about the guys who can throw the ball a mile as if that is any sort of indicator of success at the NFL level. Reality is that all of the top QBs in the NFL are guys with top notch accuracy. Arm strength is just a bonus.
  2. QBs don't learn how to pass accurately at the NFL level. Accuracy can be refined to some degree, but inaccurate QBs don't become accurate once they get to the NFL. When a scouting report openly questions a player's passing, stay far, far away.
  3. He's terrible. Zero accuracy. Horrible mechanics and footwork. Guys like Allen never succeed in the NFL.
  4. I don't buy it. Accuracy can be refined at the NFL level, but it can't be taught from scratch. The defenders are too big, too fast, and the throwing lanes are too small. As I've been saying, Allen shouldn't be anything more than a 4th round pick who you stash on the bench for 3-4 years. The talk of picking him in round 1, and saddling him with the expectations of being a first round pick and knowing that 1st round picks always play sooner than planned, Josh Allen is going to be a colossal disaster in the NFL.
  5. Yup. And they'll be without a job in the NFL in 1-2 years. I don't get how Mike Mayock falls in love with these guys year after year. I know people respect his opinion on QBs, but the guy gets so wrapped up in how far a guy can throw it and how big and strong he is. He never puts emphasis on whether or not the guy he's discussing is actually good at the game of football.
  6. Guys with major accuracy issues like his literally never succeed in the NFL. I watched the Senior Bowl all afternoon and this guy literally has some of the worst accuracy I've ever seen. He just sprays the ball all over the place chucking it as hard as he can.
  7. Baker Mayfield is much better than Josh Allen and it's not even close. Josh Allen should not be drafted before the fourth round. The talk of him going top 10 is pure lunacy. I don't care how far he can throw the ball. I don't care how fast he is. I don't care how much velocity he can get throwing on the run. The guy has zero accuracy. He regularly misses routine throws. He is going to get NFL receivers killed going over the middle. Stay far, far away from this guy. Accuracy doesn't improve significantly once you get to the NFL, and this guy has some of the worst accuracy I've ever seen.
  8. Going all in on Peterman seems like a decision that will get everyone fired in 1-2 years.
  9. Watching Josh Allen right now and he's just awful. Reminds me of JP Losman in the way he throws the ball as hard as he can at hte target regardless of whether they're 35 yards away or 10 yards away. He's in right now in the team drill and he's airmailing bullets all over the place. Same "area code accuracy" EJ had.
  10. Jeremiah is a really good evaluator of talent. Wish there was more than a few words about each pick. Would like some more insight into why he likes specific players.
  11. Allen is a terrible QB prospect. There is no difference between him and EJ Manuel. His production, and game tape is that of a late round draft pick. Take away his height and weight, and evaluate him purely as a passer, and he's nothing more than a late round pick.
  12. I don't care about his college production too much. I think he's a heady player who understands the game, knows how to change the play to attack a defense and is a really good passer of the football, in terms of ball placement and the ability to throw with touch. It's just a stat, but the success rate for guys who post college Total QBR ratings above 90 is very good, and Mayfield did that in consecutive years. The only players to also surpass that mark since 2004: Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston, Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, Sam Bradford, and Johnny Manziel. Pretty good company if you ask me.
  13. Julio is a 6'3, 225 pound beast. Ridley is a decent receiver, but he's not the physical nightmare that Jones is.
  14. I rate Mayfield very highly but otherwise I agree. I think Allen will be over drafted, but I think he's a horrible prospect. He's not a good football player. The top prospects are Rosen, Darnold and Mayfield. Jackson has upside. Allen will get grossly over drafted due to his measurables. Past them there's a big drop off.
  15. He's the type of QB who gets a whole front office fired in a year or two. Some coach, or GM with an ego will think they can mould him into something he'll never become. He's simply not a good football player. He was a mediocre QB in a bad conference, and people think he's going to suddenly become a franchise QB at the NFL level against better competition? Allen looks like a Day 3 developmental prospect who you take a flyer on. The talk of him going top 10, or even fist overall is insane. I'm dead serious when I say EJ Manuel's college tape (which was awful) was better than Allen's.
  16. Allen is a really bad QB. I don't care how far he can throw the ball or how fast he is, his college game film is worse than EJ's. He's a great athlete, but his mechanics are horrendous, his accuracy is scattershot and he has few natural instincts for the game. I don't see anything that translates to future NFL Franchise QB.
  17. When was Bryce Petty drafted? That'll give you an idea of when Rudolph will get picked...
  18. If Baker Mayfield is available with the 4th pick I'd give up the compensation you described (three firsts and a second). I think Mayfield is going to be a really good NFL QB. I think he's got all the tools and the mental makeup to be a good franchise QB.
  19. Allen's drop percentage makes his completion percentage even more scary.
  20. I'm obviously just guessing. Just pointing out that I see a ton of similarities between Darnold and Stafford.
  21. USC finished as the #12 team in the country this year. Darnold had a great running back, and a lot of young talent at WR that will wind up in the NFL in a year or two. Darnold looks like the second coming of Matt Stafford. Great athletes with a big arm who get into trouble trusting their arm strength which leads to turnovers. I don't think Stafford is a great QB, but Darnold seems like a guy who should be a productive pro who starts for a while.
  22. I'm pretty sure that like 99% of the brains they've tested have tested positive for CTE. Playing tackle football long enough will give you CTE. The severity of the case can vary, but pretty much every player will get it.
  23. Agree with this. Jackson has elite traits. I don't know if all the pieces will come together, but he's got the upside from his traits to be a top QB if he develops his game as a pocket passer. Rudolph doesn't have any elite traits. He's not overly accurate with his ball placement, he's not mobile, and his arm is only mediocre. I don't see a guy who has a lot of upside.
  24. You're probably right. If they don't win next year I think that'll be his final year.
  25. The NFL represents all of football. This is bad news for them. They've tried to change rules to limit concussions, but this study essentially says that it doesn't matter what they do, CTE is going to be a result of playing football long enough.
