I hope not. I think the issue is definitely getting lost. The media is focusing on the damage and destruction vs the thousands of people out there who are genuinely pissed off at what happens, and continues to happen on a regular basis to blacks in America. Looting is obviously not the issue. I've seen plenty of videos online of young blacks protecting businesses, knowing their message gets lost when the mob mentality takes over and tries to storm department stores for whatever they can grab. On the flip side, I've seen TONS of videos of young white males wielding hammers, crowbars, bricks, fireworks and flammables who have done a ton of terrible things over the past 5 days. I dunno if they're ANTIFA or White Supremacists or what, but they all look the same (black pants, black hoodie, face mask, often a gas mask, black backpack). These people are not there to protest anything. They're there solely to screw things up for everyone involved. They want to incite looting, burn cars, and clash with cops. The issue as I see it, and it may be wrong, is that these idiots make up a tiny percentage of the population in these crowds. Maybe 5% of people. They know exactly what they're doing, and they're the reason these protests turn violent because they do things that spark the cops, the cops put the hammer down, and the people there protesting racism get pissed off because they can't stand the cops putting them down. I don't know what the solution is. Some sort of governing and trying to improve the actual problem would be helpful and it's not happening. I just know that punishing a whole crowd, when maybe 5% of the people there are the problem is not an easy thing to navigate.

Nope. Obama was also useless.
-
There's tons of blame to go around, but I don't see what the obvious solution to restoring law and order is other than massacring crowds of civilians. It would probably be helpful if some level of government announced they were going to review how policing is conducted, whether it be mandatory body cams, automatic review by a third party commission when someone dies at the hands of an office, etc. I feel like there are preliminary steps that could be taken to help calm things down, but that doesn't appear to be happening at any level of government right now.

Fake news.

I'd bet the anarchists represent between 5-10% of the people in these crowds. If it was more than that it would be open war in the streets with numerous more deaths. I think a big chunk are protesting racism, another big chunk are there because they've got nothing better to do. The reason they can't mow down the crowd is because most of these crowds are complying with police. It's the professional protesters who go to these things with hammers, flammables and bricks who get the headlines, but in the overall composition of the crowd they make up a tiny percentage of the people there. These are the people they need to crack down on, but it's hard because they hit and run in and out of the crowds so well.

Now they're guilty before possibly committing a crime? That's an awfully slippery slope to go down. Also, what entitles Donald Trump to taking a photo over those protesters rights to demonstrate? 36 people are talking about this If this is true, what Trump is doing is illegal. So much for the rule of law.

Like I said. You're a joke. People get tear gassed outside a church in Washington so the Coward in Chief can get his picture taken, and you think what's happening in NYC 3 hours later justifies it. So much for the constitution and that pesky first amendment. You obviously couldn't care less about that when it comes to protesting racism in America. Dude, your racism is showing.
-
The ones in Washington who got tear gassed 3 hours ago were peaceful protesters you disingenuous idiot.
-
Yeah, because those were the same ones Trump had tear gassed and shot with rubber bullets outside the WHITE HOUSE. You're a complete joke.
-
The type of stuff you see from dictatorships around the world.
-
You are literally saying you want to "gas" people. If this continues, "there are no other options but military action." You're defending the President having the military hurting innocent civilians with tear gas and rubber bullets so he could get a picture taken. Like I said, this is your wet dream. You couldn't care less about these people getting hurt, and you're projecting what you want to see happen.
-
Triggered much? Trump tear gasses civilians so he can get his picture taken and you're cool with it. Tells a lot about the type of person you are.
-
This is probably your wet dream. You'd love it if regular Joes started unloading their guns on these crowds.
-
LOL Cool story asking me if I can read, after you clearly haven't read a single thing I've written. Hysterical. You guys really do live in a sick fantasy land.
-
LOL The alternative seems to be having the police massacre groups of protesters. Pretty sure the current situation is protecting people relative to the alternative.
-
Are you saying he didn't just participate in a premeditated photo op outside a church across the street from the White House? That actually happened.
-
The President is utterly useless. He's more concerned with photo ops than he is with actually fixing any problems.
-
The country is burning from coast to coast, with no end in sight. Way to take the issue at hand seriously.
-
LOL Why wait 20 minutes? Why not start firing tear gas on them an hour before the curfew? Maybe 2 hours? Maybe have the cops ask them how long their commute home is and then make a decision on when to go in with the tear gas, rubber bullets and pepper spray. LMAO The notion that the President looked "powerful" with the military firing tear gas and rubber bullets into a crowd of peaceful demonstrators makes me want to barf. This was a violation of their constitutional rights, and none of you care.
-
The curfew started at 7 pm moron. They fired on the demonstrators 20-30 minutes before then while they were peacefully assembled, exercising their rights.
-
Trump is weak. That's why he wasn't able to serve in Vietnam. They shot tear gas into a crowd of people exercising their constitutional rights so he could get his picture taken. Total psycho.
-
Why would they have to leave? They were expressing their first amendment rights.
-
They were completely peaceful. It was 6:40 in the evening, 20 minutes before the curfew, and the military police tear gassed and fired rubber bullets into the crowd. Absolutely despicable. The type of stuff you see out of Hong Kong these days.
-
Nothing. He should say nothing. And then he should hide in his bunker, surrounded by his viscous dogs and ominous weapons. Don't tear gas people expressing their first amendment rights so that he can get a petty photo op.
-
Hearing the explosions of tear gas canisters in the background while he was saying he supports peaceful protests a couple hundred yards away was laughable. The President is a psychopath. Hearing about him hiding in a bunker on Friday night was hilarious. He's such a coward.
