  1. Maybe this lady is soon to also not be on the team. She says the Third Circuit "granted" their appeal. Not true. Not even sure what she is trying to say. Maybe that the Third Circuit is hearing the appeal in an expedited fashion as they requested? Or that their appeal is pending? "Vaunted" legal minds...did you mean another word?
  2. There's this tactic where Trumpists say, "How can you argue that he has no right to challenge the election?" And the answer is: We can't. But the truth is Trump has been saying himself, and through his legal strike force in press conferences, that the election was a fraud and that he won. He's not been saying that he wants a recount to confirm democracy worked and to make sure the result was fair--he's been saying that democracy failed and that Americans have engaged in a wide-sweeping conspiracy to undermine a presidential election and he wants to catch the evil-doers. This is a decidedly different approach than what Gore (no fan of his and don't like using him as a particularly better example, but he is in this case) requested when he needed only 500 votes to swap to change the entire result. And Trump is spreading flat out lies about it, so yes when we say someone in power is undermining the democratic process, we have a candidate for that "someone." Today's example.
  3. Closest to the Date on which 7 day avg deaths crosses below 300?
  4. Mayfield doesn’t scare me. CHubb and Hunt averaging 11 yards per carry against the Bills D scares me.
  5. I don’t know that it’s GOP business but that’s wild. Another Florida Man story.
  6. Agreed. His job #1 is done. Job #2 is to do a little work getting the Rs and Ds to work together on a few things and perhaps, perhaps, be civil. He knows what he needs to do and his reserve in the last 3 weeks shows that he will try hard to do it. The temptation to feed into the Trump-tantrum must be great but he's just letting Trump just burn out.
  7. Biden was only the second D president I voted for in 7 elections and although I voted for him, I do not particularly agree with him on a lot. Trumpism, an amoral cult of personality, is not about the UNITED States of America. It was about him first and the current tantrum amplifies this. It may be where we are headed with Trumpists facing off against the AOC-socialists but I hope the moderate majority may put things back together and overcome the social media/cable news/talk show echo-chambering of the country. TBD.
  8. A peak would be welcome. The data for the next 8-10 days is going to be a mess because of the holiday. We've had some head-fakes before on this rise and Thanksgiving may not help.
  9. I agree with this and think that the echo chambers reinforce the conspiratorial mindset. When all you hear are the voices in your head reflected back, you start to believe that you know what's best always, and that goes strange places. Fortunately, I still think that most of the country is not off in looney land but is quietly and/or apathetically in the middle between the QAnon and AOC crowds.
  10. All you have to do is read my or his quote of Trump, where he says she was on the team, or where she was in the Trump legal strike force press conference. Or where you said she was an example of Trump’s vaunted team. You’re right though, that journalists should question Trump’s grasp of reality. At some point, supporters may have to admit that Trump’s “legal rights” fight is a national embarrassment cherry on top of his presidency. Do you find it telling that he’s not had an appointment in the last 12 days?
  11. What are you even talking about? I have no power to suppress your words. You can say anything you want to another poster. If you do it publicly, I can comment on the veracity, or lack thereof, about what you're saying. See above.
  12. Man, when it unravels, it unravels fast. Are we on Day 12 of Trump not having one official thing on his schedule or is this Day 11?
  13. So everyone gets it, this is Trump’s attorney in GA.* *so far
  14. Your argument is that there’s no proof of anything wrong but what if there just might be. That’s not how we make cases in court. That’s why Trump keeps losing. The legislatures and election officials can revise things next time. That’s how it always works. That’s why I filled out bubbles in this election instead of voting electronically like I have for the last 18 years in my district. But if you want to change the election as it happens, you need a ton of proof. And while your authority as “a guy on the Internet” is convincing to some, I defer to the people making the cases in court, Trump’s “vaunted” legal minds, to have access to the best evidence. So far they’ve presented bupkis. And have bupkis to show for it. At some point you stop believing in the things you can’t see.
  15. Any study on how long death from Covid lasts?
  16. Trump had two wins in court going into today. Now he has one. PA Supreme Court overturned one of his wins. http://www.pacourts.us/assets/opinions/Supreme/out/J-118E-2020oajc - 104614191120569290.pdf?cb=1
  17. Distorting the facts: An American doctor who had treated Ebola patients in Sierra Leone died. 263,000 : 0 1.
  18. Still, no evidence to overturn anything. 34 losses in court. Nothing is holding up for any of these theories. On the Dominion thing, they just did a hand audit in GA and found no irregularities in the machine count. Why would you keep trotting this out? If you want to change the law on mail in voting, the states can do it, just like they changed the law *to* mail in voting. Here in PA, the Republican legislature passed the mail in voting laws in 2019--before Covid. They put in a bunch of protections against fraud. If they want more protections, they can pass them next time around. This round is over.
  19. Schwarzman said in a statement to Axios that Biden won and it's time to move on. "I'm a fan of good process," Schwarzman said. "In my comments three days after the election, I was trying to be a voice of reason and express why it's in the national interest to have all Americans believe the election is being resolved correctly. But the outcome is very certain today, and the country should move on." "I supported President Trump and the strong economic path he built. Like many in the business community, I am ready to help President-elect Biden and his team as they confront the significant challenges of rebuilding our post-COVID economy."
  20. To the extent there's truth in some of what you said and not just overblown histrionics, and to the extent that what you listed is part of Congress's job, you find common ground. That's what they needed to do, 100%. You had a Republican PArty that wanted to do something on health care. You had a D party that wanted that too. Progress: 0%. Failure by both parties.
  21. Trump made himself the focus of the election and country's energy for 4 years. Biden 100% didn't turn out the vote, Trump did. The problem is that it worked both for him (second highest number of votes ever) and against him (Biden got the most ever). It's not a conspiracy, it's just what happened.
  22. Thankfully the Dems worked closely with the Republicans in the last 4 years and paved the way to bipartisanship, putting America before party.
