Wow, people actually buy hats for the draft?! Money to burn, I guess.

If we were to trade up, when would it happen?

I think you are living in the past, in the world where subpar GMs were making the Bills' decisions. I believe we are in good competent hands now with McDermott and Beane at the helm. -
QBs, NFL Draft, Identity Politics (New Poster)
Poleshifter replied to CamboBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the concerns with Rosen are that he would not be the first player to show up in the morning, and last one to leave at night, as is somewhat expected from a "franchise QB". I believe that is the root of the "not blue collar enough" complaint. There is a poster from New Zealand, sort of in your neighborhood. His name is "Bad Things" or something like that. -
You need to stop living in the past era of subpar Bills drafts. We now have a competent GM and HC in the house. I am excited to see who they select this year.

Random Bills and what you remember them for
Poleshifter replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
RB Tim Tindale, the Canadian Comet!, for his TD in the playoff game vs Miami, which was Don Shula's last game. In that game, Thurman knocked down the Fins DC Tom Olivadotti on the sidelines, as the Bills offense was steamrolling the Fins D. -

UDFA QB Joe Dufek, from an Ivy League school, who played special teams. -
I just retired, so I finally have the time to watch stuff like this. I think it is a pretty cool treasure hunt. The payoff is potentially huge (not just $2 million, as someone posted). If it turns out to be the holy grail and similar artifacts, it would be historic.

Hah! This is the scene I thought of, too. Someone asks what he is doing - he says "I'm kicking my ass" Great movie

Hows my Bills buddies doing?
Poleshifter replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey Ice Bowl, you may have seen the thread about folks not watching the game because, well, you know, Patriots* I skipped the game but accidentally caught the last 2 minutes. It is GLORIOUS to see the evil empire (Brady-chek) on the losing end of a super bowl. It sure made me happy. I usually enjoy watching Packers games but I lost interest this year once Aaron went down. That was a real shame for you guys. Are you one of the Packers owners? I knew some folks who had their Pack ownership certificate hanging up in their living room. -
For those who promised to not watch the game
Poleshifter replied to ProcessTheTrust's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I tuned in once I thought the game was over, but 2 minutes were left, so I watched the last 1:56 of the game. -
[POLL] Are you going to watch the Super Bowl?
Poleshifter replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Normally, I watch it every year. This year, I am so sick of the Pats*, I did not watch the game. Did not even record it. I saw the last 2 minutes, though, waiting for the late news. God bless the Eagles for defeating the evil empire. -
Putting down a dog (or other pet)
Poleshifter replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in Off the Wall Archives
We had to have our beloved 14-year old cat (see my avatar) euthanized last year. We were invited to witness the process, much to my surprise. They gave him the injection, which made him drowsy. We were able to pet him, and say our goodbyes. My wife had been very close to this cat. She mistakenly petted him where he had received the injection, and he hissed at her. It was a cruel twist in an otherwise peaceful moment. Witnessing the event can help to bring closure for the family. -

Why Marrone and Hackett Still Suck
Poleshifter replied to Domdab99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marrone and Hackett certainly blew that 4th quarter. Good God, don't these people understand clock management?!? And leaving extra time for Brady??? St Doug, you are a thick-headed boob. -
The Bob Seger System played an incredible show in Dec 68. It was at a place called Psycus (IIRC), an old theater on Seneca Street (probably). A power trio with Bob playing guitar. Pep Perrine had some weird tubular drum amplifiers (or whatever). I was disappointed when they augmented the System with organ and another guitarist. Did anyone here see that amazing show?

I recorded the game, but could only stomach a few series. Then I just deleted it. And then I decided I would not watch the Super Bowl if the Cheaters are in it. It will be hard to actually skip it, but I hope to do that.

Wasn't this place called Gilligan's before it was Uncle Sam's? I saw Golden Earring and Cat Mother & All Night Newsboys there. I think it was still Gilligan's for those shows.

Tyrod injury: patella contusion, day-to-day
Poleshifter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And now, with Eric Lee kicking our ass, the Pats* are beating us with our own players! It's a shame our staff did not realize Eric Lee's talent, or could not develop/utilize it. -
Turning our KC Pick into a top 5 pick?
