  1. Agreed 100%. At the same time, the Bills are dropping towards the middle of the draft where Joe Thomas and Jake Long won't be. Maybe Levi Brown?
  2. Let's see how they handle the Chargers d-line before we proclaim something has changed. Six sacks next week and this thread is moot. At any rate, the Bills seem like they're going to win their way out of the top 8 picks or so. I think the most likely pick at this point is an LB to replace Fletcher.
  3. Eh, this has letdown game written all over it. Right now we should be rooting hard for the Chargers to win to avoid a pissed off team next week.
  4. This team is going to win its way out of range for Thomas, Branch, and Long in the draft, so it needs to throw lots of money at Eric Steinbach in free agency. Unfortunatley, I don't think there's a good runstopper in FA.
  5. How do you know it's not Jauron's call to be conservative. It probably is.
  6. Eh, I can see it either way. They're protecting JP from making a confidence-shaking turnover since it's not like he's great at protecting the ball or anything. A 3 point lead going into halftime is more than satisfactory.
  7. A linebacker can only do so much. Unfortunately I'm playing against Fred Taylor in fantasy this week
  8. McCargo's potential isn't as a runstuffer anyway even if he doesn't turn out to be a bust. Drafting a runstopper would be nice because I don't think any good ones will be available in FA.
  9. Yeah. They deserve hope. Good for them.
  10. We're not gonna tag him. We made a promise, we'll keep it.
  11. Rivers. Like everyone else, very impressed with Romo so far, though.
  12. It's okay when the player is right. Have you ever had an awful boss in your life? You kept your mouth shut, though, right?
  13. What if Plummer just sucks ass and Cutler is already better or equal?
  14. I don't think there's a single franchise QB in this draft. Stanton -- Terribly inconsistent. Probably the best tools guy but how can anyone draft him high after this senior season? He's been coached by John L Smith for the past four years! Brohm (if he comes out) -- Like him, but too injury prone to be a high pick Russell (if he comes out) -- not mobile, does things too slow, inconsistent in big games, needs a stout line to survive. Incredible gun though. Troy Smith -- Like him but we got to do a wait-and-see on his height. He might measure in at 5'11" at the combine.
  15. Why is Quinn a franchise QB though? I don't think he is, and at least one ND fan on here (Bart) has commented that he wouldn't take Quinn high in the first round. I'd like to hear from other ND fans as well. I just don't think he's accurate enough and as Badol pointed out above, he's very shaky under pressure. My favorite QB prospect this year (for the draft value) is actually John Beck from BYU. You can probably pick him in the third round because he's only 6'2" but he has an absolute gun, is deadly accurate, and makes quick decisions. Best arm strength in the draft, I think. Gotta see how he plays at Utah (their huge rivalry game) and in their bowl game. If he tears it up in those two games, I think he's the guy I would want the Bills to draft (if they were going to draft a QB at all). He's a much better value than Quinn, who is not a guaranteed stud to be worth taking top 10.
  16. Disagree here. I think Brown will be viewed as a RT prospect so he'll go mid to late first round.
  17. I'm pretty sure you have your answer when the Colts were able to kill the last 6 minutes of the game by just stuffing the ball down our throats. Lindell's miss only made the game 17-16 instead of 20-19, Colts. My question is: did anyone else feel it in the pit of their stomach that Lindell would miss as soon as Losman took that sack? I sure did. Lindell has strung together a couple of good seasons for us now, but I still don't trust that guy in the clutch.
  18. The Bills were in a position where they needed to, though. It's not like we have a mediocre line. We have a TERRIBLE, vomit-inducing line, and there's a cascading effect of hampering the development of the other skill players. We don't have nearly as much information about JP Losman as we could have if he were allowed to throw the ball 20-25 times a game. It's almost like a wasted season because now we'll have to "find out about him" next year as well. It was just plain dumb for the Bills to enter this season with the line we have and Marv needs to learn that football games are won at the line of scrimmage. It's laughable that we have an 80-something-year-old GM who is learning on the job but that's where we are.
  19. Rivers is awesome. He was the best QB from that draft and the Chargers are lucky to have him. When he left NCSU, he was one of the most experienced QBs in college ever. He was deadly accurate, durable, a leader that his teammates loved and was incredibly mature. He was a married MAN at the time, for gosh sakes. You just knew he'd become a great one.
  20. It's different, though. The Patriots have a very good line and therefore they can accept responsibility for a bad game without fear of being cut. The Bills have pieces of crap on the line who are fighting to stay in the league. You can't expect them to come out and admit that they suck. They'll lose their job. Light a fire under their butts? Ha. It'll be like lighting cow turds, interesting to see for a few seconds, but ultimately useless. A motivated turd is still a turd. They need to improve the talent here, period. Marv was an idiot this offseason but hopefully he'll learn.
  21. What's hurt Wolfe is that his LT Doug Free has been playing with a stress fracture in his foot and struggling bigtime. Free was the guy most responsible for Wolfe's big holes. Both their stocks have been plummetting.
  22. Dang. I have the Patriots defense in fantasy.
