  1. We have a lot of cap space. Having a lot of money is a different thing.
  2. Jarrett seems to stretch the field to me just fine.
  3. More pressing concerns than WR. No need to draft a RB yet. If Willis leaves after next season, we can draft one then.
  4. Why is Meacham a better fit than Jarrett?
  5. LOL. crayonz is really good at baiting. Everyone should read Dibs' post.
  6. Fla +7.5. Gators won't get rolled. It'll be something like 27-24. Let's say Buckeyes.
  7. Against The Spread: Dallas +3 at Sea: They both suck but Seattle REALLY sucks. I think the Cowboys have a better defense AND offense. NYJets +8.5 at NE: Too many points. NE rarely blows out an above average team KC +7 at Indy: Pure superstition pick. An incredible number of events had to line up for KC to make the playoffs. I think Lamar Hunt is a factor here. NYG +7 at Phi: No feel for this game whatsoever. When in doubt, take the points.
  8. If it weren't for the ownership situation, the Raiders job wouldn't be that bad. They have a nice young defense in place headed by Rex Ryan. If they just devote an entire draft to the offensive line, it would go a long way towards making that team respectable. I wonder if they're going to give the job to Ryan or not.
  9. Both Long and Baker have announced that they are returning to school.
  10. Oakland doesn't have any priority free agents to re-sign. Sands probably qualifies as their #1 player to re-sign and they've already begun discussions. Sands has only really had one good year, which is this season under Ryan. The Raiders offense is horrible but their defense is young and good overall and bound to get better.
  11. Yep, I like Harrell's toughness for playing against Fla. I like him as a player, too -- his loss was the reason TN was porous against the run this season. But frankly, I would never use a 2nd-rounder on a player that missed huge chunks of 2 out of 4 seasons due to injury. You can disagree, however.
  12. That's huge chunks from two out of four years that he's missed entirely due to injury. You want to take that chance with a 2nd-rounder?
  13. The braintrust would not have considered Sands a fit last offseason. I can see the results of this season changing their minds a little bit about small DTs but to all of a sudden go with a 340-lb guy in there? Very doubtful. Sands is likely to re-sign in Oakland anyway.
  14. No. Injuries are bad news. Someone made a good point yesterday that, what are the chances the Bills draft another DT after drafting McCargo and Williams last year? I think they'll go the free agency route this time. While there are no great difference makers at DT in free agency this year, the Bills can still find someone better than Tim Anderson. I'm in agreement with others that Ian Scott is a decent bet to come here. There aren't too many Tampa-2 teams out there. He's young, he'll be relatively cheap. He's a nose tackle, we need a nose tackle.
  15. Wouldn't be too sure about that. Pitcock is the kind of high-motor player that is liable to unimpress during workouts, and Okam didn't have a great junior year and might stay in school. As for Harrell -- too injury prone. He was out almost all of this season with a torn bicep and he missed various games the in past seasons with injuries as well.
  16. That nfl.com link gave me the freaking Cowboys You would think Dallas would get eliminated as soon as I pick the Bills as my favorite team. Geez.
  17. Pennington's too damn tall to be a guard. His length is valuable as an edge protector. On the inside, you want guys who are a little bit shorter and can gain leverage easier.
  18. Yep. I mean, the plan sounds good, but given the limited budget we're assuming... the actual plan is going to be more like A. Watch Clements and Fletcher leave B. Re-sign Kelsay and Gandy C. Sign Ian Scott or some other DT with Tampa-2 expereicne D. Draft a MLB 1st round E. Draft an OG 2nd round F. Draft corners 3rd and 4th round
  19. I agree. To me, there are only a handful of difference makers at the RB position. LT2, LJ, Gore (when healthy), MJD, SJax. That's about it. Everyone else relies heavily on their o-line for success. Not that these elite guys don't but they can also create stuff on their own.
  20. Unfortunately, it's Nate's choice and not ours. As for replacement free agent CBs, I only like Samuel and both he and Nate should get huge contracts. I feel like the possibilities are limited to either re-sign Nate or draft a CB first day. Spend a lot of money or spend nothing.
  21. I would think USC is the favorite for next season. Especially if Jarrett somehow returns to school.
  22. I would suggest pinned threads for each of these positions: OG, DT, CB/Clements, LB/Fletcher, DE/Kelsay, TE/WR
  23. Great idea. ans4e64 -- no, I would not expect it to be that strict at all. Obviously any current transactions would get priority.
  24. or 142nd Regardless, give him a full offseason
  25. LOL. As for Grubbs, he's okaaay. I didn't like the way Glenn Dorsey kicked his butt his season head-to-head.
