  1. Exactly. You might as well have asked, if Adrian Peterson is worth a top 5 overall draft pick, why isn't Willis worth a 2nd rounder...
  2. Too expensive. We can't afford to give up the #12 for this guy.
  3. The sex boat thing will eliminate him right off the bat since Marv is a character guy. And the Vikings, who had a HORRID pass defense last season, cut him. Draw your own conclusions as to whether we should sign him.
  4. If we get Steinbach or Dielman, I will sing the praises of Ralph/Marv as well as criticize my own stupidity, second-guessing, and cynicism. Or whatever punishment you guys deem fit. I just don't see Ralph outbidding the big boys for those big boys.
  5. And Kelsay took up how much? We have to hope that the Bills will spend the difference between Clements' contract and Kelsay's on difference makers. I just don't see it happening. We're not going to outbid anyone for Dielman, Steinbach, Adalius, etc We're going to end up paying more Kelsay-type contracts out to Kelsay-type players, and I don't know if that's going to be good enough to catapult us into playoff contenders. Basically, we have to hope that McCargo, Whitner, and this year's #12 pick become great players, but that's a lot of eggs in those three baskets.
  6. Houston had a nice day but that was expected. The real big news is that Leon Hall ran an unexpectedly fast 4.39. That should secure his first-round status. Daymeion Hughes ran a 4.65. We may be able to get this cover-2 corner in the 3rd round.
  7. We're not getting a second for a player who's in the last year of his contract and has average to subpar stats. If we do, I'll eat my words but at this point, this is one of those "use your head" scenarios. Using your head, a second rounder would be way too high an asking price for McGahee.
  8. No. That was market value for him. The question is, would you rather pay market value for Clements, or market value for Kelsay? I'd have rather paid market value for Clements...
  9. Seriously. Wow, way to "call this" on the virtual eve of free agency after you've seen a bunch of average players land ridiculous contracts.
  10. Steinbach's too expensive just like Nate and Adalius. I really doubt he's a possibility.
  11. Yeah, it pretty much rules out DE. Levi Brown, Okoye/Branch, Willis... I think these are the options
  12. Might as well have Coy Wire bulk up another 100 pounds. Maybe he's the answer at DT.
  13. Schobel knows he will get taken care of eventually. He's not someone who will rock the boat.
  14. Why? Remember cash to cap? Kelsay just ate a huge chunk of that.
  15. This move is fine. I was hoping the Bills would draft a DE with passrush upside high in the draft, but certainly re-signing Kelsay doesn't constitute a bad move. We just need to add another difference maker along the d-line, whether it be McCargo developing into one or us drafting one this year.
  16. I don't want Peterson and his upright running style and injuries.
  17. Hell, shouldn't the Bills think hard about signing him? I know I'd give up #12 to get him rushing opposite of Schobel. Adding a 3rd rounder as well makes it hard to swallow, but wouldn't you do it?
  18. That website isn't a real news website... plus, I continue to think Okoye will be there with ease.
  19. If the Bills didn't trade down last year with Leinart and Cutler available, I doubt they trade down this year.

  21. I agree with you that Clements was as important as anyone on the team last year. I'm frustrated that the Bills, by not franchising Clements, are apparently opting to go back to the true Cover-2 that they had to dump midway through last season to improve the defense. I just hope they follow through and don't take half-measures. If they're going back to a true Cover-2, then they need to improve the passrush. Use that #1 pick on a lineman, not a corner. Otherwise, they'll be undermining their own plan and evaluation. If CB is not important enough to franchise Clements, then it's also not important enough to waste a #12 overall draft pick on, and this is before even considering the lackluster crop of CBs this year at the top.
