  1. No, I didn't realize that at the time I posted. It's a surprising contract, and yes, he will be competing because frankly, he sucks. But he sucks with potential that hopefully will be realized. I think Okoye is most likely at this point. With Nate gone for sure now, we just HAVE to upgrade the d-line or else QBs will pick apart our blah secondary.
  2. I would take MJD over Portis or Gore as well, if MJD can stay healthy. That kid is so explosive in both running and pass catching. It'd be close, though. I love Gore as well and I like Portis.
  3. It's impossible to figure at this point. If I told you I ate 49 apples over the past week, and I always eat at least 23 a week. How many apples did I eat on Sunday? Could you figure that out?
  4. I think Whittle or a first day draft pick. If you look at how the Bills are assembling the line, I think they want the left side to be the straight ahead plowers and for Fowler, Whittle, and Walker to be the pullers. Fowler is mobile but light in the ass. Whittle is good at pulling. And Walker is mobile for his size and can hopefully develop into a consistent space blocker.
  5. Unfortunately, LaDaris is more right than wrong about Walker. Surely some of you caught a Raiders game or two last year. They were on national TV much more than you'd expect from a crappy team, and Langston Walker sucks. Now, he does have the potential to get better with his size/speed combo, and that's where McNally figures in. But upside is different from production. And right now Langston Walker sucks.
  6. By that logic, we should not have signed Dockery then. Ask Redskins fans if they would've signed Dockery to the contract we did. And ask Oakland fans about Walker's contract. They would laugh in our face. Bottom line is the market has changed. Nate was paid that because he's worth that in this market. He has developed into a top 5 CB and we will miss him.
  7. I think that's sound. Walker, Pennington, and Butler will compete for RT. I think we would prefer a first day OG to start and have Whittle be a backup.
  8. I'm pretty sure both Steinbach and Dielman will get more money so I don't think it's all that "clear". Both Steinbach and Dielman were visiting other teams. We just happened to lockup the guy who wanted to visit us first. Which is fine.
  9. Dude, did you see what we gave Dockery? Market value is market value.
  10. Holy crap, that's a lot of money. That means Dielman will top $20 million in guaranteed money.
  11. What I like so far is the moves has improved the depth. Pennington > Butler as the first OT off the bench. Whittle > Preston/Merz/Reyes(if not cut) as the first OG/C off the bench. Whittle can also push Fowler a bit so he's not comfortable as the starting C just yet.
  12. We need to upgrade the o-line some more... that's what we do.
  13. Nice. Hopefully Dockery continues to improve instead of regressing after his payday. Hopefully Walker really, really, REALLY improves because he kinda sucks but can runblock and has the potential to passblock with his size/height/armlength. And hopefully, we are not done with the offensive line just yet.
  14. Walker actually did suck, though... terrible in pass protection, but as you would expect, he can runblock some. Maybe McNally thinks he can salvage Walker's pass protection problems.
  15. The Bills are just taking a stab in the dark before releasing him, but they know the odds are low that any team will trade for damaged goods at that salary.
  16. I watch a lot of Redskins games. Dockery played well this past season but prior to that, he was inconsistent and not at all a consistent knee bender. In other words, he had a contract-year-type year. I'd appreciate if someone can dig up his penalty stats because he SEEMS to pick up more untimely penalties than other Redskins linemen but sometimes perception is wrong. If we sign him, our main concern is that he will continue to play hard after the big contract. Seriously, he's a little bit too tall and was not at all consistent in bending and gaining leverage prior to this season unlike what that article stated.
  17. The Pats have tons of cap room. Of course they're going to get a couple of good free agents. No surprise there.
  18. LOL. You want an indepth scouting report of an average offensive lineman from another conference? How many of those can you provide me? I have some familiarity with him so I'm sharing what I know. Note that I would much rather he serve as depth than be a starter. But he is what he is, which is BETTER than Reyes and Anderson.
  19. Rumor has it that Steinbach will fly into Cleveland today to sign a contract with the Browns. It was actually announced as a done deal by the Browns Scouts site before the article was rescinded due to conflicting reports, which has the Cleveland fans in a tizzy right now. Still, even if it's not done, it looks like Cleveland is the heavy favorite here.
  20. First of all, Reyes and Bennie suck ass. It's not saying much to say that Whittle is better. But he is. 4 years ago he played well (in his first season starting for the Giants) and actually became a somewhat coveted free agent following the season. Tampa Bay signed him to a long-term deal early in the free agency period (as opposed to waiting months later to sign scraps like Reyes, for example), and the Giants missed him enough that they traded a draft pick to get him back the following season. Assuming he hasn't regressed in the past couple of years, is he a great player? No. Can he be an adequate starter or provide excellent depth? Yes. Other than that, you'll have to take my word for it. When we signed Tutan Reyes last year, everyone was all over his jock. I said he sucked balls and was lambasted for it. I was right.
  21. He's better than Tutan Reyes and Bennie and has a history with McNally. He'd be great depth but don't rule him out as a starting guard.
  22. LOL. It's pretty much a foregone conclusion...
