  1. What you guys mean when you say "Brohm needs to be evaluated" is that YOU want to evaluate him because you're a fan that only gets to watch games. It's possible the Bills ALREADY know Brohm's a worthless bum. Afterall, they see him every day. Eh. I want to see him play, too, but the possibility exists that he just plain sucks and everyone knows it already.
  2. I have no idea how likely that is but it would be the ideal scenario. A rookie salary cap may also be implemented under a new CBA which would ease the financial burden of having two number one overall picks.
  3. I suspect that Ralph won't be surprised by 1-15 or 2-14 at this point. No surprise/anger means no firings. He will gives these guys the requisite three to four years (if Ralph even lasts that long).
  4. Bill Parcells chose to work for New York, Dallas, and Miami. I think he's a big-market type of guy.
  5. I think Chip Kelly is the key, not Oregon's o-line coach. But he is staying at Oregon, and college football is so different from the NFL anyway.
  6. Put yourself in Nix/Gailey's shoes. You know you have three years, maybe four years max, to rebuild the team. Are you really going to spend two of those years without a franchise QB? The Bills are like a single woman in her 30s. You know she's going to get hitched soon, you just hope he's not a douchebag.
  7. Arizona and San Francisco have way more talent than us and play in the weaker NFC where they will get wins by accident. I'm really only concerned about the Browns, Jaguars, and Raiders as far as getting the #1 pick. (I know the Jags are 2-2 but I think they are bottom 5 in talent).
  8. You know him pretty well for someone who hates him and that's the problem. He gets ratings.
  9. Nothing. You are powerless. It's a rich man's world and in this case, the rich man is Ralph Wilson.
  10. It's just hard to believe that Nix and Gailey won't draft a franchise QB two years in a row -- what would they be waiting for? And it's hard to believe that any available QB will be rated higher than Mallett. Luck won't be available. The NFL might as well start stitching Mallett onto the back of Bills jerseys to get some early sales.
  11. I'm not sold on Mallett either (his performance in road games, big games, and on 3rd down leaves a lot to be desired) but I don't see any way around it. He will be in a Bills uniform next season so you might as well get used to it and start rooting for him.
  12. Not spending a top 5 draft pick on a QB is how you end up with prospects like Edwards, Losman, Johnson (originally a 4th rounder), Collins, etc. I don't trust the Bills to find a diamond in the rough QB. I don't trust them to draft a good top 5 QB either but I want them to give it a shot.
  13. Great college QB but very likely too small and weak for the NFL, unless he is a rare exception like Brees.
  14. I believe that report of the NFL draft advising committee having rated Locker as below a 1st-rounder. IMO Locker's status as an elite NFL prospect is a Todd McShay creation.
  15. Unfortunately, Luck is going to break everyone's heart in January when he doesn't declare. In the articles I've read about him, he's been consistent about wanting to graduate before moving on. His family is well off and cares too much about education for him to leave, imo.
  16. I agree that no college QB gives me a boner yet but that could change as the season progresses. And realistically, the Bills WILL be drafting QB whether we like it or not. It's hard to imagine Nix and Gailey entering Year 2 without a franchise QB in place. Something surprising would have to happen, like Brohm playing well and taking that role.
  17. Not surprising. Not immoral. These teams are in competition afterall and I would hope the Bills would try to do something similar. In industry, companies try to sign each other's talent all the time. Maybe NFL franchises should begin using non-disclosure agreements with their players and coaches but that is probably unrealistic for many reasons.
  18. You know what? I was unnecessarily curt to "LOL" there. I actually don't even remember making that post, but I obviously did make it, so my bad, Haplo.
  19. I would go with lack of individual talent (and therefore poor scouting by the Bills). Hopefully the next QB they draft is a top 5 overall pick. They could still mess it up but I'm tired of developing lower-tier QBs. Let's go for the gold and see what happens.
  20. I don't think this move came out of the blue for the players. They have all eyes.
  21. Bingo. All draft picks are risky and you might as well take a chance drafting a position that will make a difference.
  22. How are the coaches going to know that Trent sucks if he shines in practice and preseason? Some players are gamers and some are practice players. Trent is the latter. You could say "Look at film from last year!" but I think new coaches owe the guys on the roster a chance to compete. Trent got his chance, he ended up sucking, and now life goes on.
