  1. It's true, the Bills could collapse. I think everyone here knows in the back of our minds that it's possible. But my advice would be to just enjoy the ride until that happens. This franchise hasn't been 4-1 very often in its history and obviously not very often in recent history. Who knows when we'll get to experience this kind of start again? Maybe in 2012 they begin the season 1-4.
  2. Why would Gillett as owner mean the Bills stay in Buffalo? Also, Liverpool fans apparently hated him as the owner. Not comforted by this.
  3. I'll take the big guy. I'll almost always take the dominant big guy in the trenches. Another consideration is that the Bills are a small market team with a cheap owner. With a limited amount of money, it's better to spend it on the lines and allow Gailey to work his magic with underappreciated receivers. Some teams need to spend big at WR. We are probably an exception.
  4. Yay. Was obvious to everyone that he was a better OLB. Glad he gets to be one on the Bills rather than on the Jets or some other team.
  5. Learning a new position so prob will be a year at least before he can even become a backup.
  6. These Football Outsiders rankings haven't been updated for Week 5 yet (as of Monday afternoon) but they agree with you. They have us as #14 as of last week. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef
  7. Loved the way the Bills responded to last week's disappointing loss. Yeah, the Eagles mounted a bit of a comeback there, but oh well. More than happy to outplay them, jump out to a big lead, and then hang on. This was essentially a must-win game for the playoffs. It might not feel that way right now in the afterglow of a win, but I bet our season would've gone in a very different direction had we fallen to 3-2. The Bills made me proud today.
  8. This kid needs to get punched in the face and it'd be to his benefit.
  9. I'm over it but the loss did hurt because, whether we won or lost, I still consider the Bills to be middle of the pack in the NFL in talent. Like if you ranked the rosters 1 to 32, we'd be around 15. You give an average team a 4-0 start and they'll probably end up making the playoffs. At 3-1, it gets pretty dicy. 3-2 after a 3-0 start and I would have major doubts. The Eagles game is an almost must-win.
  10. Belichick will gameplan as normal and play his starters deep into the game Week 17 even if he already has a first round bye locked up. But, I agree with rooting for New England because they're going to be a 12+ win team and realistically, the Bills are only competing with the Jets for a playoff spot.
  11. To me, the offense was just as bad as the defense. Putting up only 273 yards and 13 points is just as bad as giving up 458 yards and 23 points to the Bengals. In fact, those two things are probably linked. If the offense could've moved the ball a bit more, maybe the defense would not have gotten progressively worse (worn down?) throughout the game.
  12. Gotta root for New England. We're competing with the Jets for a playoff spot.
  13. Why is this so hard? If the refs ruled it a catch, the Bills probably would've won. If the Bills played better, the Bills probably would've won. Both the Bills and the refs sucked. No need to pick one or the other.
  14. They're probably the best defense we've played so far. They had the DBs to matchup with our receivers and today Fitz wasn't able to make the plays against tight coverage.
  15. He could've maybe fumbled while doing that though. I'd say it can't hurt to force your opponent to run another play from that position.
  16. We were outgained 453 yards to 273 yards. They kicked our butts. Did you guys think we were going to go all season without a crucial call going against us? On the whole, the lucky breaks have AT LEAST been even for us so far this season if not to our advantage. The pick 6 off the helmet against NE, today's pick 6 bouncing all over the place off the WR, etc. Bad call or not, we've got to play much better because sometimes the stuff you can't control go against you.
  17. lol, kicking a FG there is so Jauronian.
  18. rookie def letting us off the hook. down a FG is probably the best case scenario given our play so far. hopefully the offense will get going
  19. He made the right decision. If it were towards the end of a tight playoff game, I'd say different. But no need to risk injury in the third of game of the regular season.
  20. I don't know if he'll ever be at the top 5 QB level with Brady, Rodgers, Brees, etc but Fitz is a QB that can make the playoffs. And after 11 straight seasons without playoffs, that's all I can ask for at this point.
  21. People just have to maintain perspective. The Bills will lose games and at some point, they will lose to a team they shouldn't lose to. Because that happens to everyone. It might even happen this week.
  22. I agree that nothing pre-Nix/Gailey really matters and we should rely only on trends established within their tenure. Hopefully, like last season, this team continues to improve as the season progresses (e.g. 0-8 to 4-4) because if that happens again, we'll almost certainly be playoff-bound.
