  1. Bridgewater, Manziel, and McCarron are all much better prospects than EJ.
  2. I'm actually already in full tanking mode. Will be rooting against the Bills the rest of the season so we can get a high draft pick to select our QB of the future.
  3. History will not looking kindly on a team passing on taking a QB in the 2012 and 2014 NFL drafts that were loaded with QBs and instead going all-in with the horrible QB class of 2013. But that's exactly what the Bills are going to do. EJ sucks.
  4. This will probably be the last time we use that defense, at least this season. If an opponent sees it coming, you're right, it's probably a dangerous play. But to put it out on the field for the first time, when it's certain to be a surprise for the opponent because nobody else does it that way, was brilliant.
  5. root for Jets, of course. Not really even a question. What, we gonna give up on the divison already?
  6. Yeah, and he was already the throw the challenge flag even though your defense didn't recover the ball guy. Not impressed so far.
  7. I'm sure Luck wasn't 100% every week last season behind the Colts' awful o-line. Playing while a little bit dinged up is just something EJ and most QBs will have to learn to do. No reason to sit him here.
  8. lol, that's ridiculous. Regardless of the Week 1 final score, the Patriots already win if our organization has to resort to these tactics. And really? Give up 2 weeks of crucial reps and development time for EJ and gaining familiarity with receivers? For what gains? It'd be like selling your soul to get a 1-foot head start in a marathon run.
  9. Probably. The most important aspect of this season is EJ and his development. The only worse news we could have would be news of a more severe EJ injury.
  10. That's not how karma works... otherwise, something bad will happen to you, and somebody else will be there to taunt, "You deserved it!"
  11. Historically that's not true, though. Usually it's the team that can get pressure rushing 4, especially up the middle, that gives him the most problems. Brady has insane numbers against the blitz usually. That said, I'm still optimistic the Bills D can disrupt the Patriots O this season. 1) NE obviously lost a lot of receiving talent 2) Pettine is a smart coordinator who has plenty of experience playing Brady. It's not like he's going to blitz 80% of the time. He'll mix it up. 3) The Bills on paper do have D-line talent to get pressure rushing 4 and get in his Brady's face up the middle
  12. I would cut Kolb if it saves money. If EJ gets injured, wouldn't you rather have Tuel play anyway? If answer is yes, cut Kolb.
  13. Eh. Why eliminate the competitive atmosphere now heading into Preseason Game #3, a game NFL teams tend to emphasize? Let's see how EJ handles the pressure. If I'm the coach, I'm going to start EJ come Week 1 regardless, but I don't necessarily need him to know that right now.
  14. There are zero places offering that. Bills seasons win o/u has always been 6.5 or possibly 6. I actually have no idea what the original poster is talking about. My first thought was that he saw early preview lines for all 16 games and the Bills were only favored in 3 of them, but I'm not aware of any casino, Vegas or online, that would have those preview lines posted.
  15. No. That would not be considered taunting the opponent and isn't specifically listed as an outlawed offense. Looking at the list below, everything seems pretty reasonable to me. The NHL, NBA, and MLB would not allow these things to go unpenalized either.
  16. This is a great move. The league will be better for it. This reminds me of when the NBA forced their players to wear suits to games, and they couldn't sit on the bench without being in a suit. There was huge outcry from the players when that happened but now you can't imagine the NBA without that rule being in place. It's okay to class up the game a bit.
  17. Way to draft only one QB, Nix & Whaley. Hopefully Manziel can save this franchise next year!!!
  18. True. And yet, the Bills project to have a good defense, a great, explosive RB to help out, and a talented WR corps. It's unlikely that a good rookie season from EJ would result in less than 7 wins. Maybe some of these assumptions end up being wrong -- the defense disappoints, Spiller gets injured early, etc -- at which point we can re-evaluate what win totals mean. But to me, if EJ is the "QB of the future", he's going to get 7+ wins this season. In the current NFL, QBs that have "it" -- and the Bills have certainlly advertised EJ as having "it" -- will come in and play well right away.
  19. 1. Show the God-given talent to sense where the pass rush is coming from and slide in the pocket to avoid it while keeping his eyes downfield 2. Scramble at opportune times but always slide and generally be aware of protecting himself from big hits. Run out of bounds when available. Do not hold the ball too long. 3. Start 16 games. 4. Make some big plays that display his great natural talent (arm and legs). Show improved accuracy as the season progresses. If he fails in any of these 4 areas, I would draft a QB with the 2014 first-rounder.
  20. Should anyone who tweets "I'd bet my life that..." and turns out to be wrong get hunted down and killed? Seems sort of ridiculous to really ask Rodgers to donate his salary next season.
  21. Of your three examples, two throw like a girl, i.e. physical ability. Only Russell really qualifies as having a million-dollar arm talent but a 10-cent head. But then again, I don't believe his point was that you can get away with zero mental ability. Just that it's easier mentally to play the position nowadays.
