If TO plays, he'll be a factor because he'll at least be a red zone threat, which is important for the Eagles because I think Chad Lewis got injured yesterday. It's possible he could win a jumpball or two.

Official Tom Brady thread
Ozymandius replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL, you'd seriously take Culpepper and Vick over Brady? This isn't Madden, it's real football. Brady has more assets than just good field vision and a quick release, although those are very important. Brady is also extremely good at feeling the rush and sliding his feet to avoid it and set up his blockers (Bill Walsh said Brady is the most mobile QB in the league), and he's extremely accurate and a great leader. Basically, everything we've ever wanted in a QB, he has, except the Bills jersey. -
I thought the NFL cap was a perfect system

The Pats do have superstar players... Seymour is a top 5 DL Bruschi is a top 5 LB Law is a top 5 DB Brady is a top 2 QB Dillon is a top 5 RB Viniatieri is a top 1 kicker -
I'll be rooting for the Eagles as well. Anyone rooting for them will almost certainly be disappointed since they're playing New England, but I think rooting for the Eagles is the right thing to do. You're correct that no one can really understand the pain of 4 straight SB losses, but they did approach the pain with their 3 straight CG losses. Both Buffalo and Philadelphia care too much about football so we're also similar in that respect. Their fanbase deserves another heartbreak about as much as we deserve one. Go Eagles

Just a thought... maybe if you guys were less petty and selfish and more sympathetic, then the Bills would be allowed to win a Super Bowl at some point...

New England -2.5 over Philly?

New England -2.5 over Philly?
Ozymandius replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even 5.5 or 6 is good news for the Eagles b/c that still encourages betting on the Patriots (since it's less than a touchdown)... it's only if Vegas opens it at 10 or so that I would give the Eagles no shot at the Bowl... -
I have hope for the Super Bowl considering Philly's secondary is about 10 times better than Pittsburgh's... that might just be a close game (or I'm an idiot, probably I'm an idiot)

New England -2.5 over Philly?
Ozymandius replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the lower the line begins at, the better a chance the Eagles have... Vegas MUST know that the general betting public will pound the Patriots for two weeks... so if Vegas expects the Patriots to blow them out, they'll start the line at -10, so folks will be tempted to bet the Eages... and vice versa -

the lines I've seen have Pats -6 to begin with... it will definitely get bet up to at least 8... the Terrell Owens injury might impact it as well -
nah, the early lines i've seen have new england -6... that's going to get bet up to -10 by super bowl week

F'ing Viniatieri. Why do the Pats get to have such a great kicker and we have Lindell.

Eagles fans are terrific. Although harsh on their players and on opponents, they are also very loyal and they travel well to support their team. That fanbase DEFINITELY deserves a trip to the Super Bowl.

raiders more interested in jordan than travis h
Ozymandius replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you guys are crazy to believe that any nfl front office, no matter how inept, would value a backup running back over a premier pass rusher. i don't care if they don't like abraham's attitude. they would still rather keep him and then trade him for a first rounder. to franchise jordan over abraham would be one of the stupidest moves in sports management history. -
It makes no sense for the Jets to just let Abraham walk without compensation. I've never really trusted Pasquarelli, but I'm definitely calling BS on this one.

Anyone see Napoleon Dynamite
Ozymandius replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everybody has one movie that they hate but everyone else likes. Napoleon Dynamite is that for me. I just don't get it. Terrible movie. Only thing remotely watchable is that dance he did following the speeches. -

Ozymandius replied to nodnarb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A key to the game will be whether the Patriots are allowed to play two deep safeties like they did against Pittsburgh. The Steelers have run on everyone this year, and if they can run on the Pats front 7, then New England will have to give saftey support, opening up the downfield passing game. One of the keys to New England's destruction of the Colts was that their defensive line and linebackers, even without Seymour, was able to control the Colts offensive lineman sans safety help. I don't think they'll have that luxury against Pittsburgh. -
Hate the Pats or Not...but I have to say....
Ozymandius replied to CentralVaBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bruschi is a stud... two of the lasting images from that game are 1) Bruschi taking the ball away from Rhodes and 2) on Indy's final drive, Burschi still playing fercociously, inciting the crowd, and after a Colt caught the ball along the sideline, he was like a gopher on acid, repeatedly burrowing his arms into the guy's chest trying to knock the ball loose. -

I agree that the Steelers have a much better chance of winning than the Colts. When you play against Belichick, the simpler and more run-oriented your offense is, the better you will do. That's why Carolina had success moving the ball in the Super Bowl against the Pats. They kept it simple; they ran the ball and took some shots downfield. Likewise, Pittsburgh will pound the ball and pound the ball and then take their shots downfield with Burress. Pittsburgh's receivers are much more physical and clutch. You will not see Hines Ward dropping balls over the middle like the Colts wideouts. -
if you have a router, try switching it off and then back on... just trust me... this could potentially help

He smiled because he felt privileged to play a playoff game against some of the finest athletes in the world.

What would you add to the Travis trade
Ozymandius replied to JP-era's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You need to study up on your draft pick values (not surprising since you're 12 yrs old)... there's no way that trade could happen. To move up to the #2 overall pick, it would take something like every Bills draft pick this year since we don't have a 1st rounder to give back. Go study the Ricky Williams draft day trade.
