  1. In order of preference (ignoring unrealistic options like Mario): 1. Vernon Davis 2. Trade Down a few spots for at least a 3rd rounder 3. Huff 4. Justice 5. Trade Down a few spots for at least a 4th rounder 6. Greenway 7. Trade Down a few spots for whatever the hell we can get
  2. About Mark Anderson, could you provide a source or link for this: "great height at 6'6" and has his weight up to 270 lbs while maintaining 4.68 speed in the 40" ? One of the things I really want out of this draft is a true, pass-rushing DE, and MA would fit perfectly at a heavier weight.
  3. McCargo is one of those guys that the internet mocks have underrated. I bet he DOES go late first, early second to someone. As for the mock in your signature, I don't think there is ANY way Colledge is available in the third. I wouldn't be surprised if those sneaky, wise Patriots take him the first. Colledge is one of my favorite prospects in this draft.
  4. I like that draft a lot, and I think it is a viable mock as well. I wouldn't draft the QB's though
  5. Thank you for posting that. This is vindication for people who have been hating on Ngata. Vernon Davis >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ngata.

  7. Vernon Davis gives me a hard on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kq5g7O9YvwQ...rch=nfl%20draft Check out the game highlights that come after the combine highlights. Beast.
  8. That's a very nice draft... unfortunately, McCargo is a second rounder and Matua is probably 3rd/4th.
  9. Marv just needs to put a poison pill in Manuwai's contract and kazam, we have a starting LG at the cost of a 3rd round draft pick. He can be creative with the poison pill, maybe something to do with the weather.
  10. You can say that about any position in this draft, though. DT is deep. So is TE. Remember, Huff is a CB prospect as well, although I do think he'd probably play safety his rookie season, saving us from witnessing the debacle that would be the Bowen/Wire experience.
  11. Eric Johnson will never stay healthy. He has missed two entire seasons already and most of another. The 49ers will draft Vernon Davis and break my heart, unfortunately. Most people have him going at #6 at this point, and the entire 49ers fanbase is clamoring for him. Of the top 7, we will most likely only get a chance to draft Huff (if the Raiders pass on him), and unless we trade down, I hope that's our pick.
  12. Yes, there will be more workouts, and when they can be confirmed, they will be added to the list. The list is beneficial RIGHT NOW but it will continue to grow. It's a running list that you can click on once a day to see if anything new has been confirmed.
  13. Our trenches are horrible. What exacerbates their suckitude, though, is that on offense, we're planning on going to a downfield passing game, and on defense, we're going to Cover 2 which requires great athletes on the defensive line. In the entire NFL, we are probably dead last in terms of players in the trenches that fit the team's system. If we want to be a good team, we will need no less than three new defensive tackles (one under tackle, and two over tackles, including a starting over tackle), two new defensive ends (including a new starter at LDE), two new guards (both starters), and a new starting LT.
  14. Spencer is hardly a sleeper. Anyone who follows college football and the draft closely has known about him for at least a year. Great athlete and powerful for his size.
  15. This site will be interesting to track in these days leading up to the draft: http://www.fflivewire.com/Article.asp?ID=rkd6734ciq2635p (Sorry if this has already been posted) Logically, you would expect that the players we bring in for private workouts will be targetted and more likely to be drafted by us than players we don't bring in. You could be looking at our first two draft picks right there. Huff at #8 overall, and Spencer in the second round. I wouldn't cry if that were the case.
  16. That would suck a$$. Even worse than drafting Vince would be that the top 7 elite prospects go 1 thru 7 exactly and the Bills don't even get a chance to eff up and not pick one of them.
  17. Okay, other guys we could go after besides Metcalf and Reyes... Kindal Moorehead... restricted... small but good DT that fits the one-gap... we would give up a 5th-rounder for him James Reed... small, small DT but fits the one-gap Vince Manuwai...restricted... good, powerful guard... we would have to give up a 3rd rounder for him, which is pricy in a deep draft. Manuwai is the one guy that makes the most sense in the context of Marv's comments. I can see us overpaying him so that the Jags don't match and we get a Benny replacement.
  18. Thanks for posting this interview. I'm kind of confused, though, by what Marv meant when he said "they needed Moulds' cap money to build the lines properly". There are basically no unrestricted big money free agent linemen left. I would assume he'll go after Terrence Metcalf and maybe Tutan Reyes, but those are hardly expensive guys.
  19. It's a okay to pretty good draft, but a poor mock. McNeill won't be there in the second, Spencer won't be there in the third. Sure, there is always a chance that a player will fall, but when you're doing a mock, should you count on that? Bunkley is a good prospect but he doesn't have Pro Bowl potential. The only guy in that 8 to 14 area (so even after a small trade down from 8) who is sure-fire to be a great player is Chad Greenway.
  20. Not really... The only QB in this draft that someone is going to trade up for is Leinart. Young is going to take a huge freefall down the draft board. Cutler just sucks.
  21. sfladave1 is right. Even if we have the greatest draft ever this year, the rookies won't impact the team that much just by the mere fact that they are rookies. Today's contributors are usually draft picks from three or more years ago. If you want to be good in a couple of years, you keep the picks in this deep draft, draft well, and then let them gain experience.
  22. I'm hoping the Bills can draft Proehl's reincarnation, Mike Hass, in this draft.
  23. What continues to suck is that we're picking #8 in a draft with only 7 great prospects - Bush, DaBrick, Leinart, Mario, Hawk, Davis, and Huff. And of those 7, only five could we seriously consider drafting (no Bush or Leinart). And of those 5, we only have a somewhat realistic shot at three - Davis, Huff, and a very outside chance at Hawk. And of those 3, only Davis makes your heart pound faster, but we have maybe a 15% shot at him. What we need is for the Jets to draft Jay Cutler or someone to draft Vince Young. Ideally 3 QB's go in the top 7, and then something yummy should drop to Buffalo, hopefully Davis.
  24. Absolutely. The Raiders may even take him. I'm not saying we stand a good chance of drafting him or anything, but if he does fall to us, I'd jump at him in a heartbeat.
  25. I'll say this. Vernon Davis not only has the most upside of all the players we've talked about at #8, he also is the safest pick as well. He has that great work ethic and has been extremely durable during college. Ngata takes plays off, is a potential weight problem, and has that rebuilt knee and other minor nicks during his career. Justice has the adjustment that has to be made going from right tackle to the left side, and also his off-the-field incidents. Huff is a tweener and will need to stick with a position and gain experience playing full-time there. If Davis is available, I'd pick him. Tremendous upside, and the player with the least worries as well. Then start building the lines with the rest of the picks, obviously. But you can't eff around with a top 10 pick. Risk management-wise, it's a no-brainer.
