  1. The odds are long but not impossible. Far as I can tell, we need... 2) Saints to prefer Mario over Brick. Likely the case. 3) Titans to pick Young over Leinart. The rumors are that the owner/GM prefer Young. 4) Jets to pick Leinart over Brick. At least 50/50, I think. 5) GB to pick Hawk/Davis over Brick. Very, very likely (given their tackle are good). 6) SF to pick Davis/Huff over Brick. Very likely (given investment in Jonas already). 7) Oak to pick Huff/Ngata over Brick. Very likely (given investment in Gallery already). The keys are picks 3 and 4, I think. It starts with the Titans choosing Young, opening the door for the Jets to choose Leinart.
  2. Well, if he really believes it... why not? His partner Jaws compares Clemens to Tom Brady here: http://www.ronjaworski.com/free_jaws_bites.php (but he says Cutler is the best QB with Leinart second) I think Clemens will be a good one. His accuracy is very good and is supposedly a great leader. They haven't had a lot of talent at Oregon recently but they've won a very high percentage of games due to being well coached and having leaders on the team like Clemens.
  3. True. I took it too far. I suck and apologize.
  4. He might be, but let's see if he turns out to be right about these QB's. First round QB busts are a fairly regular occurrence. I think for this QB class, if you asked me from which bucket of players will the best QB in this class come from, the top 3, or the rest of the field, I think I would choose the field.
  5. Okay, let's continue beating the draft to death by approaching it from YET ANOTHER ANGLE that I don't think is covered often. Instead of listing who the Bills should draft, sleepers, mocks/predictions, underrated/overrated just name some players you enjoyed watching in college, either on TV or in person, and why. Let's make Bush and Young a given. Who else? They could be stars or relatively unknowns. Here are some of the guys I liked... Laurence Maroney - very explosive back. always seemed like he could go all the way with any carry. his interior linemen should get a lot of credit, too. Steve Fifita - it's funny watching a midget destroy people at the point of attack (see fiesta bowl a year and half ago). everyone knows about Ngata and Watson, but maybe the third-best pure runstuffer in this draft is Fifita? the internet mocks have him going undrafted and i find that hard to believe. i say 3rd round surprise. Vernon Davis - it takes like 7 guys to bring him down. so explosive he scares me. Marcedes Lewis - fun just to watch him catch. great hands. i really can't see him falling out of the first round. Daryn Colledge - boise st in general is fun to watch because their linemen are always running downfield. sometimes it's fun watching an athletic lineman dominate vastly inferior competition. i bet he goes around late first. true LT prospects don't last long. Parys Haralson - relentless and explosive natural passrusher. might be only a passrush specialist in the league and might just be drafted in the second round on that alone. cool name as well.
  6. Holcomb got most of the first team snaps in minicamp. Not to worry, they're just challenging Nall and Losman to take it away from Holcomb.
  7. If those are the options, Brick. Add in Mario, though...
  8. The whole team not playing well doesn't excuse him. Plus, I said he was the worst culprit along the line in that game, and I stand by it. As for using one game to evaluate him, no I've used a bunch of games in which I've seen him play to arrive at my conclusion that he provides good depth, nothing more, while citing one notable example, that being the Seattle game. Your threshold of evidence is much higher for me than for anyone else, it seems. I'll provide that 10-pg report on him once someone who likes him does the same. In the end, why does it matter? I have an opinion and I could be wrong but I'm allowed to express it even if it's not 100% positive of a player. We'll just have to see.
  9. He was beaten repeatedly in that game, not just on that one play, and not just by Bernard. If I cared enough, I could go back and do a play-by-play. I'm not saying my analysis is great but at least I've provided SOME analysis. A lot of people seem to think he's great because... well, I dunno.. He played on a line that was able to run-block well every now and then? Instead of expecting me to provide a 10-pg scouting report, how about someone, anyone, provide ANYTHING specific about Reyes that you like? I'm talking about actual performance in an actual game against an actual opponent. Even if someone can't step up to the challenge, it doesn't matter. Look, this is a forum for opinions. I gave mine and a lot of people don't like it and reacted strongly. So I countered back strongly. In the end, we're all Bills fans (I hope) and we'll let this be settled on the field. Peace, bros.
  10. I don't think I was referring to you or anyone who didn't attack me first just because I called Reyes good depth.
  11. Are you seriously trying to use these stats to decipher what happened in a game that you can't recall? Here, let me help you since I watched the game with my own two eyes. First of all, Seattle uses a DT rotation, which renders your individual stats meaningless, and second of all, Seattle flip-flops their tackles like most teams will do depending on formation. So yes, Bernard did go head to head with Reyes. On one particular play, I saw Bernard blow by Reyes like he was a turnstile, get held from behind by Reyes and STILL get to Delhomme. Great play by Bernard, but still very poor blocking by Reyes. The entire Panthers line sucked but I don't see how that excuses Reyes.
  12. ***If Brick falls to #8, he's the pick. ***Otherwise, we trade down with the Rams to 11 (pick up 3rd rounder) and target Ngata; Rams were targetting Cutler or Davis (note: I would take Davis but the team decides not to). However, the Ravens jump us by trading with the Cardinals to 10 and we miss out on Ngata. So we now trade down again to 14 (pick up another 3rd rouder) because the Eagles want Justice. At 14, we try to trade down again but fail to find a suitor. Stuck at 14, and with both "top" DTs gone as well as Justice, we draft... Donte Whitner. I'm not thrilled with that but at least he'll be a starter (hopefully Polamalu-lite) and we get two other third rounders out of it. But this is only if Brick doesn't fall to us.
  13. I'll go ahead and answer my own question since you idiots won't be able to figure out. He's not that good. With very few exceptions, good free agents get signed early. If he ends up being a good starter for us, then by all means, call me out on it. LOL. What a bunch of ridiculous pu$$ies you guys are. I'll stop being "mean" to Reyes now.
  14. Calm down, and a get a life. Don't be so sensitive when someone doesn't kowtow to a free agent signing. I didn't even bash Reyes, I said he was good depth. He's just not the drive blocker we're looking for in a starter. I don't know if you have the NFC championship game recorded, but if you do, watch it and pay attention to who was particularly dominated along the Panther line by Seattle. It was Reyes. Most Panthers fans, and I know a few, consider him to be the weak link of last year's line. LOL at the idiot who called this a great signing. He's good depth, a shaky starter, nothing more. Ask yourself how this "great" player was available to us at this time when literaly all the other young prime free agents were snapped up weeks ago with the possible exception of LArrington.
  15. Well, what I meant was, we still need to draft two guards, imo. I still hope to never see a Bills line with Reyes starting.
  16. He would be best used as a backup. Not a good drive blocker.
  17. Well, let's assume it's true. It's good news for us, right? 1. Houston - Bush 2. Nawlins - Mario 3. Tennessee - Young/Leinart 4. NY Jets - VDavis 5. GB - Hawk 6. SF - Huff 7. Oakland - Young / Ngata 8. Buffalo - Brick
  18. That was actually Joseph's teammate Chris Chester. Joseph played LT this season. If the rumor is true, I hope we're trying to target Davin Joseph, not Eric Winston
  19. LOL. The Bears' requirement is THAT specific? We JUST missed the cutoff?
  20. I think that site has it nailed. I think that's good information you've provided. Thanks.
  21. Agreed. I think we just need the Titans to choose Young over Leinart and the rest of the dominoes (Jets take Leinart, etc) will fall into place. It's unlikely but will hardly be shocking if it happened.
  22. Assuming McShay is right about the Rams liking Cutler, those predictions are very sensible. Bills trade down to 11. Rams draft Cutler at 8. Ravens trade up with Arizona (who miss out on Cutler and have no reason to stay put) to leapfrog the Bills and take Ngata.
  23. The McShay article is pretty interesting if true. http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft06/ins...todd&id=2422731 I'll provide some exerpts "Bills coach Dick Jauron is reportedly eager to trade up for the two players he covets most from this year's class -- Virginia OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Ohio State OLB A.J. Hawk. Unfortunately, general manager Marv Levy does not feel it is prudent to mortgage a second-round pick to move up for Ferguson or Hawk. Although Levy isn't necessarily sold on the idea of moving at all, he is far more receptive to trading down. Buffalo isn't as wild about the top two defensive tackle prospects -- Haloti Ngata (Oregon) and Brodrick Bunkley (Florida State) -- as most are led to believe. A source tells me Levy prefers Ngata because of concerns regarding Bunkley's character and ability to adjust to cold winters in Buffalo. The coaching staff, on the other hand, covets Bunkley because he's a far better fit in the new one-gap penetrating scheme. " "The reason trading down has become so much more attractive for the Bills is because they're beginning to realize they can get a similar value in the low teens as with the eighth pick. Should they make a deal to move down a few spots to pick No. 11, Huff likely would be gone but Ngata or Bunkley should still be on the board. The Eagles, who hold the 14th overall selection, also have contacted the Bills for a potential trade. The Bills likely would lose out on both defensive tackle prospects, but they have some other prospects (OLB Ernie Sims, OT Winston Justice and DC Jimmy Williams) -- targeted in that range, as well. "
  24. Marc Bulger just turned 29. I don't think I trust this rumor.
  25. Thanks for your comments and great observations. I watched that game as well and Tapp did control the matchup. I think it needs to be said that D'brick is much more a potential guy than someone who is perfectly polished and can step in and dominate right away. He'll need three years to reach Pro Bowl level and that's assuming he can carry ten more pounds without losing quickness. I would take him at #8 but this isn't Pace or Boselli we're talking about here.
